Music/RadioRe: Where Is Tosin Jegede (And Others)? by sprezatura(m): 1:31pm On Aug 02, 2007
good to share da info, Tosin Jegede is a bloated painter(artist) now, she had an exhibition of some sort sometime ago, dizzy K falola, is a pastor too, i tink in da UK, Evi Edna probably got buried in her lips while strugglin in Europe after she divorced her producer husband, Felix Liberty (a mule puke to Gospel music) like ethereal said is in Benin raising his twin daughters to be boring musicians as well, Alex o and Alex Zitto, for those of you in Europe im very certain you would have ridden in their cabs, for mandators sadly Peggy died of Tuberculosis after da guy divorced her, and da guy recently attempted releasing something (something thats what it is).

But who knows where the Lijadu sisters are and who remembers the Artist that sang about Maroko, cant remember his name.

TravelRe: West African Countries Hate Nigerians? by sprezatura(m): 1:57pm On Jul 31, 2007
Jeeeeeez so much complex, no wonder Ghanaians will die in poverty, poverty in spirit and assets in the name of peaceful living and humility. By the way you all should do a search in Google for Nigerians in Thailand prisons and see how many Ghanaians and other Africans entered Thailand with fake Nigerian names.

Theres no point arguing about the colours of the Ghanaiain soul, its quite evident in their looks. Always remember the love of Nigeria is the beginning of wisdom and again Libya is just waiting for Nigeria to stop acting big brother so they can colonise your noir derriers.

enjoy, end of joy
TravelRe: West African Countries Hate Nigerians? by sprezatura(m): 1:34pm On Jul 31, 2007
I think Nigerians are hated as much as they are loved, its a 50-50 thing, in Gambia some love you immediately they hear you are a nigerian and others hate you, its usually a complex thing, they know we are smarter, bolder and in some case finer. In the case of south africa its probably becos we make all the money legal and ilegal and they never seem to find a way around wealth. In America we whoop their kids like asians in school and sports, in UK the same thing, and we like the Polish take all the demeaning jobs as well. So hate is amongst every race as long as you are not residing in your country. Lets keep showing love and make all the money we can while we are hated, only you know how.

Music/RadioRe: The Great Ali Farka Toure by sprezatura(m): 2:39pm On Jul 30, 2007
Mukina im envious, u speak wolof and a little Mandinka, something iv been trying to crack since i got here, im sure we could meet somehow n u had probably give me some lessons, Doyin, you sound like someone involved in music not just a listener you impress me every second, yea learning the kora is difficult and even more dificult when you juggle it with other stuff, such as a 9-5.

Pa Aliou Susso told me he decides to teach a student from the moment the student grabs the instrument, from there he can decipher real interest from waste of time. He had 6 foreigners staying over at his place for six months just to learn the fundamentals, he says after den just like the sax, u develop and get your own rhythm.

About Ali Farka i prefer in the Heart of the moon with Toumani, Kala and Sambou yaya stand out. Depending on where you reside, he has a son in america and another in portugal teaching the use and production of kora. Guess you know what the term son in Africa means.
CrimeRe: Nigerian Gets Two Years With Hard Labour by sprezatura(op): 12:44pm On Jul 30, 2007
Seun i guess he as guilty as other ilegal immigrants all over the world, Polish, Romanian, Gambian or Nigerian. The term without the option of fine which is the norm in Gambia is the problem.
Music/RadioRe: The Great Ali Farka Toure by sprezatura(m): 12:36pm On Jul 30, 2007
Mukina once again i think music is more about the feeling and inspiration it gives, understanding the lyrics is an added advantage but not always necessary, im not Gambian, i don't understand Mandinka, wollof, Jola, Fula or Serahulei, but i apprecaiate music from everywhere, i agree with you there are several Jalibahs now, i have met a couple at Senegambia beach hotel and cape point, but i still think Jalibah has an edge. Dont agree with you on yousupha and Pa Omar, wonder what your definition of shouting is if you like this two and think Sambo screams, in anycase she is a griot and its part of the trade. Are you Gambian Mukina.

Doyin, you are right Ali Farka Toure is Malian, but spent sometime in Niger. Sorry for that
Music/RadioRe: The Great Ali Farka Toure by sprezatura(m): 11:01am On Jul 30, 2007
the great pa aliou susso. jaliba kuyateh owes his success to this man, his first kora was giving to him by this man.

Music/RadioRe: The Great Ali Farka Toure by sprezatura(m): 10:58am On Jul 30, 2007
Doiyn, you have definitley got taste, good to know a nigerian shares this taste, Mukina, guess you prefer the shallow Pa Omar, Yousour Ngum or Asan Njie, music is looked beyond commercial acceptance, and what happens in the night clubs.

Will like to use the forum to wish Pa Aliou Susso the greatest Kora maker a safe passage to heaven, he is Sambo Susso's uncle and i was about to start my Kora lessonswith before he passed away. He left on Thursday 26th 2007, he prayed and slept on his favourite chair but never woke up again.

May his soul rest in peace

Here is A picture of Pa Aliou Susso, he is the one wearing the Ibo red cap, he died on the tattaered chair beside him and thats me with the spotted shirt with a 24 string Kora.

Doyin

don't think its fair to judge the Northerners of Nigeria by media obssessd sharia issues. We have got music in that part only left for you to dig it out, You have definitly got taste in music, try Toumani Diabate and Sambo Susso from The Gambia.
We could exchange ideas and probably link you up with a couple of collectors here in the senegambia and Mali region.
Good Taste.

Ali Farka Toure is not a Malian but a Nigerien (From Niger Republic)

Militia what source do you need, i know the guy, and yes in The Gambia. The guy committed the crime so amnesty international wont do shit and besides how do you help a person that acts like a retard. If anyone knows a liitle about law and rights you could advise on what to do.
PoliticsRe: 'All Nigerians Are Corrupt', Says Oprah Winfrey by sprezatura(m): 11:31am On Jul 27, 2007
Hey Militia, just saw the youtube rubbish, i don't deny shit don't happen in Nigeria, matter of fact i paid for my yellow fever vaccine card at the airport before leaving and i am too damn sure that at sometime in your life you have come into Nigeria with some contraband n bribed your way through it, my point is don't sound like the Oprah statement don't affect you, no body is actually sure she said this recent statement but she said somthing similar on the show that was aired on 27th april. Nigeria is no less corrupt,You find ballot boxes in the river in Nigeria, you have the same in america. Stand up for your country if it really is. But guess your green card matters to you most. Its just a matter of time for Alqaeda to level you guys.
PoliticsRe: 'All Nigerians Are Corrupt', Says Oprah Winfrey by sprezatura(m): 4:17pm On Jul 26, 2007
Militia guess uv been gone to long to feel Nigerian, Oprahs probably got her brains cells stretched too much from cosmetic surgery, she took her investments to south africa where they dont need it and guess what she got screwed, they fuckaz licked her dough like a housefly on a mango. What is america doing in Iraq (planting cassava i 4got) Nigerians are not half as corrupt as Americans but all MouthAction ridden mouths want to speak ill of the country, Jews are dubious and corrupt but how come no one in America dares raise an upper lip to say a word, thats because they dont speak ill of themselves. But we just drool rubbish about our country all because we think we have an opinion.

Sooner or later we will all find out Oprah was lured into one of this scams n lost bigtime thats y she's babbling. Nigeria has the power to make her almost irrelevant in africa, we are the highest subscribers of DSTV lets all demand that her show be removed from the bouquet, how many of us actually benefit anything from the show. Lets stand for Nigeria. Lets make her know shes done wrong

CrimeNigerian Gets Two Years With Hard Labour by sprezatura(op): 11:35am On Jul 26, 2007
I know this is no major news as its normal for nigerians in foreign countries to do worldcup years in prison, but this case is particurlaly annoying cos of the accused's dumb nature, imprisonment in Gambia is not like galo in america or jand and it aint robben island either, its more like a mix of prisons in siberia, thailand and Kirikiri. The fucka was so dumb the Judge doubted his Nationality, he was so sure Nigerians couldnt be as dumb as using the Judge's next door neighbour as his office address. His offence, attempting to travel to sweden with false papers, its almost normal for Nigerians outside nigeria to that, but only smart ones attempt such.

My Man is in a prison on an Island of the coast of Gambia shelling and planting rice for 9-5 now, his family dont know a thing about this and His embassy has no records of him, how do you help such a dumb character in a land every one is weary of Nigerians.
