Arteta no dey manage anything, just the usual stodgy football and hope for set-pieces or individual brilliance while keeping defence tight. It's a valid and consistent management style, but one afforded him by extreme patience after over 5 years of failure

Maresca on the other hand knows how to penetrate and overload teams tactically in a way Arteta could not even dream of. There is almost no Chelsea match you go into and don't expect Chelsea to score even if it's Tyrique George as striker. Maresca must overload you somewhere on the pitch and penetrate your defence.

The insurgents, estimated at about 300 strong, had launched a coordinated pincer assault on troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4, attempting to outflank and overrun their position at around 3 a.m. on Saturday.

The troops held their ground in a fierce two hour firefight. When the terrorists failed to overrun the position, they attempted to withdraw toward the Timbuktu Triangle. But their escape route had already been identified, and NAF attack aircraft were vectored to intercept. The arrival of the jets sealed their fate.

The NAF carried out multiple interdiction sorties against the fleeing fighters. The first strike hit a cluster of terrorists attempting to regroup, while follow up sorties targeted the surviving elements who scattered into the forest in a bid to escape.

The ordeal was far from over for the surviving terrorists. NAF armed attack drones soon joined the fray, maintaining continuous ISR overwatch as they delivered precision strikes on the remaining fighters attempting to make a hasty retreat.

Once again, the Nigerian military effectively combined intelligence, surveillance, and coordinated air ground operations to decimate terrorists attempting a surprise assault on troop positions.
