It might be due to style of play at Sporting CP, most times they rely on fast break there ( counter attacking football)...

Either him or Sesko, I don't mind now....
Gyokeres showed more willingness to join than Sesko whose camp have been nonchalant.

He probably felt he was more important than the club. Like who told him he is Cristiano Ronaldo? Bad agent.

I watched the interview on Arise of Datti Baba Ahmed.

This man is a plain as glass. 100% honesty, 0% pretence.

This is the kind of man that we want in power. Someone who has integrity and empathy.

I have said before that to fix Nigeria doesn't need a technocrat. We only need someone with character and compassion.

Nigeria really miss road with the theft of the mandate of Obi and Datti

Sometimes I do wonder how foreign nationals.who watch our TV feel when they watching something like this Wike interview.

I mean Wike is supposed to be a federal minister and his conduct portrays that of a typical Nigerian
Worse still many people even on this thread will defend him.

No, I haven’t. But besides Obi’s port history and his roles on the boards of some financial institutions, are there any successful businesses he’s actually built from scratch that you can point to? I’m genuinely curious.
Yes.

I think Kenneth Okonkwo would strongly disagree with you on Obi’s ability to lead and on the internal issues within the Labour Party. You should check out his interview on the matter. Even DonJ’s stance on his leadership skills suggests you are out of touch with who Peter Obi truly is or what he may be capable of achieving in a complex country like Nigeria.

If he could not resolve the challenges within a promising party he helped turn into a national force and has now jumped ship to the ADC, how exactly do you expect him to tackle corruption and entrenched saboteurs across the country? Bro, your take on this is giving pre Buhari messiah vibes.

Anyway, it is your right to vote for him if he eventually emerges as the flag bearer of the coalition. While I personally will not be voting for anyone from that coalition or the current incumbent, I genuinely hope Obi can unseat Tinubu if only so we can finally put an end to the myth that people like you keep pushing.
That's not true.

If you have ever met a business mogul, you will not associate that person with lack of leadership or charisma.

First of all, leadership is not like what we know in our politics. A Wike or Jagaban type. That's tyranny. An individual wielding so much power that he is now bigger than the group.

Secondly, I value anyone who obeys the rule of law. What you're asking from Peter Obi and how he handled Abure is like encouraging the way Tinubu solved the Rivers crisis. Is that what we want?

Power intoxicates so anyone who has conquered that is the true leader for me.

Leadership in the true sense is service not lordship. I'll prefer a Peter Obi kind than a dictator type as we have always known.

Anyone who knew Peter Obi back in his Anambra days knows that this man does not bend when it comes to doing the right thing.

We should be blaming our failed institutions like the Judiciary and INEC for the problems of LP and Obi.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Spy360(m): 9:15am On Jul 04, 2025
diggz:
How do you think he’ll be able to manage all that when he couldn’t even handle the crisis in the Labour Party, let alone coordinate and sustain the momentum of the Obidient movement, which is his main base?

What exactly do you think he will do differently from others to fulfill his promise of stabilising the country in two years, when he hasn’t been able to do the same within his own party and movement?

Again I ask, are there any other reasons why you believe he’s the best candidate for the job, considering how he’s handled the Labour Party crisis so far?

I can see you’ve stated that we don’t have an economic problem. While I agree that issues like corruption, wastage, misappropriation, and mismanagement of resources are major concerns, would you say he addressed those issues properly within the Labour Party before jumping ship to the ADC?

Lastly, since you’re advocating for a single 4-year tenure for all candidates, including Obi, after he’s set the standard, what parameters do you think he’ll put in place to sustain that standard in a country like ours? Or are you saying you’d be satisfied with him merely setting the standard, even if it means we end up back at square one after he leaves office?
All the questions you have asked to challenge Peter Obi's competence is based on the crisis in the Labour Party. This alone means there's no question to ask.

Peter Obi is not the chairman if the party. He is not even a member of the NEC. He is only regarded because he was the presidential candidate.

The fact that Peter Obi was willing to allow the judicial process take it's place, and to allow for the rule of law to take effect is enough to give him accolades. Here's someone that will not grab power for the sake of it. You must know that he is not your usual Nigerian politician that takes a position of a godfather or power grabber.

Suffice to say, that we should not be ignorant of the cause of the problem of LP. It's clearly the handiwork of the president. For example, how is it hard for INEC to interpret a court judgement and enforce it? So we cannot be pointing at the problems of the LP when we know clearly who is at fault.

By the way, the rascality of the president is not only seen in the LP but indeed all other opposition party including the so called coalition party.

The mere fact that we are discussing LP to judge Obi and not his time as governor means we don't have any thing to hold him down.

In terms of him settling the standard, what I mean is that he is for now the best option. So whatever he does becomes the benchmark for another leader. For example, Obi will reduce corruption to let's say 10% of whatever it is now. So the next person should not make it go above that. We have seen how Buhari blamed Jonathan until he realised he is the problem. We have also seen how Tinubu is blaming Buhari until he took will realise he is the problem.

We don't want someone that will come and start blaming Tinubu but rather provide solutions. And as I said, we don't really have an economic problem. Our problem is that of leadership. Someone that will not gratify himself but the people. This alone will stabilise everything.

What one can deduce is that he is not a man of his words and he only says what people want to hear and not what is practicable. That's why many may not trust his 'one term' proposal in ADC. He is deceptive.

.....honestly you are right, it doesn't but it ain't shared cos it resonates with my online political personality as you said.

But......it gets a lot to do with those proving "SAINT". The same Structure of Criminality they condemned for months, its same Structure they are embracing and celebrating now.

I have never preached that APC is saint, nope! Politics is a game to me, so it needs to be played well to get the wins.

I strongly believe PBAT is getting it right, though the pains are still there for the masses but it won't last forever cos we are really closer to the light than before.

You may disagree with my political stance but wanting Nigeria to exit doom to glory remains my main target and I still believe PBAT can make it happen.

So, you believe he can deliver on his promise to stabilise the country within two years and make it work within a single term in office? Is that correct, or do you have other reasons for choosing him?
No. This is just the fruits. The tree is that PO is a credible person which is rare as a typical Nigerian politician. He has a natural desire to see people prosper and live well. You will see a genuine intention in making people's lives better. He has empathy. He has integrity (how many former governors don't collect pension not to talk of irrational pension benefits).

So these are the areas he stands out. That's aside his competence as a successful business man, and one who really understands governance, the rule of law, and human development indices.

I believe he can stabilise the economy within two years. That's because we don't have an economic problem. What we have is corruption, wastage, misappropriation and mismanagement of resources. Our democratic institutions are dying.

I don't even want anyone including Peter Obi to do more than 4 years. But I want him to set the standards.

Ask again because what the person you mentioned was Obi.

The reason Obinmade that promise was because of the fear of Anambra people that he would join the then ruling party during his second tenure. It's similar to Fubara promising Rivers people that he won't join APC.

Obidients are in this mess because they actually convinced themselves Peter Obi was some kind of saint, like he wasn’t cut from the same dirty cloth as the rest of them.

There are two types of Obidients.

First, the delusional ones. These ones move like a cult. Say one bad thing about Obi and they’ll hunt you like you insulted their ancestor. If you’re spotted vibing with someone outside their echo chamber, they’ll label you a sellout. In their eyes, Obi is the Messiah, flawless and untouchable.

Then there’s the second group, the rational ones. Small in number, but they see things clearly. They know Obi isn’t any different from the usual suspects. Just another smooth-talking politician in native wear, playing the same rigged game.
The funny thing with this your saint thing is that the word has only been used by non Obedients.

I doubt it there's any Obidient that considers Obi a saint. What we say about him is that he is the most credible person amongst all the known politicians we have today and even non Obedients know this. That is why they can't remove saint from Obi's name

The level of delusion among some Obidients is honestly wild.
You can’t take out a power structure like this by standing alone. Without strategic alliances, it’s a dead mission. Look at the U.S. — even Trump, with all his pride, had to swallow his ego and work with people who not only once insulted, and mocked him but also with people he once labeled the “deep state,”(equivalent of corrupt and regular politicians in Nigeria) people he publicly trashed and called enemies. Why? Because he understood the stakes. That’s how power works.

This is not fantasy. It’s politics. And in politics, you either build alliances or you lose. Simple.

The point is if the land is 100% owned by ur father and not by the ancestors that passed it down the family line ; ur father can decide to give it out to anybody he pleases and the law will back him up in doing so. If u decide to challenge his decision in court , u will not win.

Not every criticism is based on bias or prejudice. I know you find that hard to believe based on your various utterances on anything political on this thread.

Even while supporting his right to complain and seek redress, i criticized his manner of doing it. He is a political leader and has the ability to inspire tens of thousands to rise up in his defense. He has to be tactful in how he responds to situations, and as a leader keep his emotions in check. He should not respond the way you or i would respond.

Land grabbing happens everywhere in Nigeria not only Lagos and has been happening for decades. It is an abhorrent practice but not indicative of any failing unique to the present government. The issue needs to be investigated, and redress should be sought in court and those responsible, if found guilty, need to be punished accordingly.
Bla bla bla

Had you spoken like this before I wouldn't have bothered. But probably you left your senses inside your pocket when you were spewing irrational criticisms.

That's what I love about the team and why it has fared this well without a central forward.

The price tag on him is chasing a lot of managements away, they feel it's very risky to spend that much on a player that has never played for a big team, his age is also a factor. The way he's handling the buyout dispute between sporting Lisbon and his agents is painting him in a very negative light, no team would want to have a problematic player on their hands. It's giving Osimhen Vs Napoli all over again, he might just end up getting loaned out to a lesser league like Osimhen
He is 27. Any club he joins now we most likely use him until he becomes a free agent. So it's not like they would want to make money off him.

Chelsea will sign João Pedro from Brighton for 60m. Overlooking Gyokeres again
