It's this transfer window that made me realise where Arteta is seriously lacking, talent scouting. Man is not good at identifying the right player for the team. If not for Berta, he would have gone for Sesko, an untested striker that has never scored up to 20 league goals in his career. If not for Andres Berta, we would never have signed Zubimendi, Nørgaard, Gyökeres and Christian Mosquera. He would have gone for some dusty average players and we would have opened book lamentations Vol 756. Henceforth, Arteta should just focus on coaching and leave the scouting of players to Berta.

Liverpool don enter race to sign Rodrygo alongside Arsenal, Bayern and PSG. Make we just comot hand for this Rodrygo matter and look for other options for the left wing. Ademola Lookman's management are seriously slacking. All these big clubs are looking for left wingers and his name is not being mentioned amongst any of the players in consideration. He needs to change his management and PR team
Bertha does not scout. So this is where you're wrong. Bertha only negotiates.

Any player we sign for the first team is scouted by Arteta.

What he does is to give the Sporting Director a list of targets and allows him get them according to priority.

Sesko was his first choice. Not because of his ability but because of his age and Arteta considers him as a player with high potentials.

Indeed one cannot deny Sesko has potentials.

The problem with the Sesko deal is not the talent, but those managing him. By asking for impossible wages and a release clause as low as 20% of the signing fee is madness. Hence Bertha pulled away and started going for the second choice.

Your mistake is you think one doesn't know what and where to apportion blame and that's why i see your pov as hilarious. Anyways you're gradually coming on to where we once were in school of thought.

When money dey available for attackers,
abeg who did he end up buying? Ehn? Man pack defenders and crappy Sterling when money was available for attackers, something Wenger and Emery never did despite the stingy hands available. That's where common sense should kick and dive in
Your own problem is that you have no inkling of what's going on in the club.

Did you realise that Arteta sold two players last summer?
Why would he sell at all when we all know he needed depth? Have you asked yourself?

Have you asked yourself why the players he was willing to sacrifice were attackers?

ESR (attacker) and Nketiah (attacker)

If he was given money to buy attacker then why did he have to sell? And even sell attackers?

This season that you are seeing signings, who has he sold?

Stop playing

All of these 9 trophies had outstanding attacking players acquired or groomed for it to happen.

We have no time for theatrics and shalaye. Even those wey no do any Process or Did any call for Trusting are getting trophies. So what's the excuse gonna be for the next potential failure before Restart button is hit?
So who is responsible for not signing the players? The manager or the owner? This is where you common sense should kick in.

Your link and screen shot didn't provide any evidence of Arteta saying Sesko or nothing. He only said a striker is not the priority and rightly so because then we were terribly short in midfield.

In fact the reason he had to forgo the signing of a striker was because funds weren't available.

If at all you read that article you would notice that the writer supported Arteta using hindsight. (Godgiven hindsight). It is this hindsight that many Arsenal fans lack.

The same scenerio played out again this window after losing Partey. Top priority shifted again to midfield and two deals were done in succession.

So while getting a striker is important it is not the only area. That is why you won't see two strikers coming in but you will see three midfielders. That's where the priority lies.

Typical of Arteta’s fanbase to turn to insults when they can’t defend their failures. You won’t need to turn to insult if there is something to defend. Instead, all you have is excuses upon excuses then insult when we tell you guys your excuses are now stale.

Again, the bold still reveals your level of delusion. Chelsea winning the club world cup and doing it against the champions league winner shows its a team that compete to win and doesn’t give excuses. Winning the Europa league and Conference league is a confirmation of that too. We can’t say the same for our “trust the process” merchant. Like I have always said, a club can’t be trophyless for many seasons and claim one trophy is beneath them. It’s a serious lack of self awareness and pure delusion.

Every complain about Arteta isn’t about last season but 5 seasons of wasted opportunities and unwarranted gaslighting by his cult, because you make it sound as if Arsenal hasn’t been supporting Arteta with signings for the past 5 years. The ones he’s been getting, what has he done with them? Liverpool signed only one player last summer and went on to win the league. So what’s Arteta’s excuse after 5 years of numerous signings?

While we were trusting the process, Xavi and Hansi won the league with Barcelona, Alonso with Leverkusen, Kompany and Tuchel with Bayern, Arne Slot with Liverpool, Spalleti and Conte with Napoli. The likes of Ange and Maresca took advantage of the European competition and won too. But our own club will have to wait for 10 years.

On the last bolded, you will still be the one to come up with more creative excuses when things go sour again (I pray it doesn’t because we need a major trophy and not excuses). Maybe this time it’s going to be because emirate stadium is too small.
You cannot be crying about insults and still use the word delusional.

Mind you, I am not saying that Chelsea shouldn't be praised for winning what ever they have won. It is when we start doing irrational comparison with Arsenal that doesn't make sense that I interject.

You cannot compare two teams when they didn't participate in the same competition. Even if it's for different years or seasons.

Secondly, all the clubs you mentioned didn't undergo any rebuilding process.

Besides you have not refuted any of my arguments about those managers being helped. You're only focused on Arteta and that's because of natural hatred.

I have simply said given the support he has received this window, this is the time for criticism because it will be constructive. If that's not OK for you and your elite mentality, then good luck with your lamentations.

Arteta said he prefers sesko, he led down reason and stats why sesko should be a better option for his system but didn't cancel the idea of Gyokeres at all, and everyone agreed with that. It's out in the open, no be me talk am. Now when the sesko deal was becoming more and more stressed and the player wasn't really interested, he optioned for Gyokeres and even gave a time frame for the deal to be completed so work can start with our new frontman from day one of training. All of dem board members saw the need to go for the two strikers simultaneously and it paid off exactly how they wanted it to play out. But somehow Arteta was OUTSMARTED by Berta

With Harvertz moved from midfield into playing as CF and a fit and in-form Jesus also available to play the position, the pressure to get another CF not better than Nketia last Summer was minimal. So I don't blame the club for last summer business. Cala and Merino are needed for squad depth.

The grouse was the inactivity during January window when it has become obvious that Jesus will not be available for the rest of the season.

But then on a 2nd thought, good CF are hardly available during January window, and getting just any CF might not improve the team as much or better than converting Merino to a CF. Also getting just any CF in January might discourage the board from releasing another money to get a decent CF this summer. Just thinking loud.
Very intelligent and objective reasoning

At least, Maresca competed in those tournaments and won. What has Arteta done in the ones he competed in? Same Arteta competed in lesser Europa league for 3 seasons and couldn’t beat the likes of Olympiacos. It became a lesser trophy to you guys, something the almighty Arteta could not win o.

I’m sure if Arsenal had qualified for this club world cup tournament and crash out as usual, you guys will still come up with excuses or call it a worthless tournament. Premier league we cannot win, champions league will cannot win, but we have the guts to undermine other tournaments we have ourself have competed in the past and couldn’t win.

Trust the process, trust the process, people taking jobs at other clubs are achieving things in less than 3 years. It would be a thing of eyesore if Amorim get something tangible before Arteta. I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens sha.
You are fan because you are braggart. Braggarts don't think process, they only thing about the objects of their fantasies.

If the Conference League was what it used to be when teams drop from Europa League you think Chelsea will win it? Even if they do, I won't wish it on Arsenal now because that would be a downgrade.

If after congratulating Chelsea we still fail to learn from their process then it's a waste.

Chelsea signed four players including two strikers during the CWC and it was what boosted their chances compared to other teams.

Owners participation in trophy challenge is as important as what the coach does. João Pedro practically won the finals for Chelsea. But he wasn't there when the competition began. The energy he brought was enough to overwhelm a PSG side that has been drained physically and mentally.

We won't see this but to dey open mouth waa dey criticise.

Now that the Arsenal board has done their part, this is when the criticism for Arteta should begin.

It was a good thing we got Calafiori and thank God we also have a good upgrade in MLS, it would have been worse last season at the back. Maybe Merino was not as needful, but he was essential after pushing Harvertz to the front. The only reason we felt Merino was not that essential was because Partey stayed fit for the 1st time most of the season. So, for a decent squad after getting rid a lot last season, we should have had all we got last summer + Saka's deputy at least... and by January after realizing Jesus will not be available for a long time, we should have gotten a CF at least.
The only way they could have seen the importance of the Calafiori and Merino signings is if Partey and Zinchenko got injured -AS USUAL. The we would have placed the burden of LB on MLS who was already fumbling with red cards, and Merino to play DM. Then there would be no one to play CF for us.

The reason they are not seeing this is because they just don't like Arteta. But don't worry this season they will come around.

I trust my manager.

Whose fault is it that Arteta did not sign a striker in January?

Did Arteta wait until deadline to identify and chase Watkins?

Did Arsenal 60M for Watkins or not?
So what changed this season? 😂

You're assuming it's Arteta's job to negotiate deals. If a manager provides a list of three players and nothing was done you still want to blame the manager. Will he sign with his own money?

Did the board give Edu or Arteta £60m to get a striker and they didn't? In January when it was obvious G Jesus was out of the season?

So the board released money to Arteta last transfer windows, he decided to sit and fold his hands and look? During the winter window, he was very vocal about wanting to sign Sesko, everybody was crying for a striker, if the board had given him financial backing wouldn't he and Edu have approach Leipzig for the player? Even if they didn't sign him, he would have gone for another striker but shishi board no drop, should he be signing players with his own money?

Do you know just 3 seasonal ago, Arsenal was being rejected as if they were covered in shit. Rafinha rejected us and stayed with Barca, Vlahovic rejected us and went to Juventus and a number of other players because we were not playing CL football. If we couldn't get our desired players, how do you expect us to get our desired results? Now that Arteta has finally gotten his desired players and squad depth, it's now that I will not excuse if he fails to deliver this season and I know he won't. Imagine Chelsea without all these squad of players to rotate, do you think they'll be winning trophies as they are doing?

What affected us last season
Injuries
Fatigue towards the end of the season
Lack of a sharp striker to converted the numerous chances created

Now everything has been addressed, it's now that I will not entertain any excuse from Arteta
Thank God. At least there is someone who can think.
