elampiro:
What was key to our victory was that our forwards were faster than their defenders.
Martial and Rashford were superb. Lingard is sometimes a lagard. But he is becoming useful in carrying the ball forward when he finds himself in the middle of the pitch.
Valencia was key in reducing City pressure, he won was the only one making real tackles and stalling City's build up. He relieved Smalling the duty of policing Aguero. And I didn't think he could offer anything near that. If these guys were around, we could have been fighting for top four.
Schweinsteiger didn't really lift us.
Pulling out Rojo for Valencia was a wasted substitue. Darmian should have gone out. When Rashford was injured we were virtually down to 10 against 11. He couldn't even chase a through ball from Martial that should have set him facing the goalkeeper.
It's clear that we should have been contesting for the title if Valencia, Shaw, Jones, Young and Rojo have been fit. These are 5 first team players who cannot be intimidated by any opposition.
Utter Bull-Shit! |

AdeLaNa1: We all know Arsenal fans. Its in their genes to compare every single one of their players with the whole world.
Considering Arsenal's attack is better and more direct than United's, Martial would conveniently bench Iwobi and/or Giroud if he was an Arsenal player. How many goals has Martial scored this season? Compared to Giroud. Your view may be true but it is not substantial. |

iPopAlomo: As Giroud enter I know say we no fit score again...
That nigga needs to leave... he can't run... he can't dribble... he can't shoot... people will be shouting Hold up play up and down... rubbish... We don't do hold up play... the last time I saw Arsenal play like this was when we demolished that Ibadan Tout's team 3-0 in the first half... we lost the title cos we had a Giroud as our top 9...
And that sod bastard will start upfront for France... Unfuckingbelieveable...
Wenger has skoin skoin... wtf is he benching Campbell again...?! and why isn't he giving Chambers a run at CB...
Fair play to Leicester... Those guys get team work abeg... if the lift the trophy... them worth am abeg... Giroud was top scorer when Montpelier won the French League. Giroud has a style, he can hold up play ( ), he can head the ball too, he also has positional awareness but he is skill-less, slow, and single footed. These are qualities that do not fit the Arsenal way. But could be useful else where for coaches like Aladyce and Pulis who enjoy long balls. I don't blame him, I blame Wenger who signed him in the first place. He should have known better. Iwobi is in hot form currently, so Campbell can't play. Chambers' time will come. But he needs to feel less comfortable with his bit part role. Like other British boys, he needs to learn to fight and demand for a shirt. Same with Ox. Apart from Arsenal and Tottenham fans, every other person wants Leicester to win the league. And I think they deserve it. They have been remarkably consistent. |

Let's see how Liverpool will fare in the Europa. As for Citey, them don reach their final bus stop. EPL is surely the most exciting and followed league. The tv deals confirm this. Almost all top managers are migrating to EPL, even Benitez accepted Newcastle in a relegation battle. Soon the top players will follow. Arsenal should collect MSN, Pogba and Muller... If Wenger Permits. |

Afterall, they made it to the nxt round and ur useless club didn't!! Also based on your assumed logic of mine, Arsenal and Benfica are bigger than Manure United. |

dmcdad: Honestly, I think the duo of Welbeck and Iwobi up front have lots of potentials. If they can get a run of games, and maybe with a bit of luck on their side, then i think they will do just fine.
They combined well last night. I was particularly impressed by the showings of Iwobi. He really made things difficult for Barça defenders on the night. I think they can both be decisive with their combination and also with being lethal in front of goal.
What do you think about their combo last night, and what are the odds against them forming a good partnership? They both have similar plays; skillful on the ball and movement with pace. Their skill set can cause a lot of trouble for opposition defence, but both are terrible in front of goal. They both lack the killer instint top strikers should have. They are better off as wingers. |

ollah1: The greediness of your coach made Suarez sign for Barca under his nose. It's a pity and I'm glad the guy scored a screamer at the perfect time to make him further have sleepless nights What transpired should not be entirely blamed on Wenger due to the dynamism of that transfer saga. Permit me to explain... Suarez had a very complex transfer clause which Liverpool were not willing to reveal. But Suarez then wanted to move, he needed Champions league and also a different atmosphere due to the moral issues he was facing. Wenger too was interested and put in several bids. Suarez wanted Arsenal. Suarez's agent who was ignorant of the complex clause, advised Arsene to bid £40m. Arsene thought he had activated his release clause, but it was later revealed after the intervention of the FA that the clause stated 'if a bid in excess of £40m is made, Liverpool may allow Suarez to discuss with the other club'. The frustration made Wenger to then add the extra pound. Meanwhile, Gerrard had talked Suarez out of the idea, and he chose to stay for another season. (He would be ever grateful to Gerrard I think) Other consequences of the transfer saga was that Wenger lost Higuain to Napoli, while hoping for Suarez. My point however is that the deal was never going to happen. |

I take solace in the impressive performances of the young ones:
Bellerin- though not as good as he was last year
Iwobi- showed tremendous confidence for his age against such big opponents
Elneny- energetic with confident passing, and what a sublime goal
Coquelin- brilliant tackles should have learnt alot from Busquets We sure have a bright future. |

dmcdad: First things first... What is the aim or the objective(s) of the club each season? This will enable one to properly evaluate Arsene. If their aim is a top-four finish and Wenger gives them that, will it be termed bad? I don't think so. But if the target is to win trophies, then that is when one would say he is underachieving.
The last time I checked, the board's main concern is a place in the following season's Champions League. As long as they make enough on the financial aspect of the game they are ok. Now, has it changed? That is what we need to know in order to properly assess Wenger. I totally agree with you. The Board The Arsenal board hardly put Wenger under pressure to win titles. Those mediocres are only satisfied with the money Wenger saves them, so they turn blind eyes at the arrogance he displays. I believe Wenger is good, but he is too arogant and lacks that ruthlessness of tough managers like Fergie who would push his players to their brinks. Fergie would not tolerate an under firing Giroud.
