We all saw how ebening started saka and esr but this arteta we will play efl or dead rubber match he will ignore the youngsters
Saliba said it then and we felt he was ranting
How do you want them to feel when the likes of sambi and Marquinhos was gotten ahead of them
You're complaining over nothing. Arteta has integrated the boys. Whether you believe he was forced to do some not means nothing.

What matters is the fact that they are thriving under him.

Hahahahaaaaa. The easiest way to wriggle out of first bringing up Amorim, then 190M and Pep is to say the owners have not fired him. There is a reason he is not being offered long term contracts but 2 year extensions, essentially every other year. My position about Arteta isn’t limited to his failures in managing our transfers, it is exhaustive and I have detailed them here severally, you should dig into it.

The expectations of the owners may vary from the fans. What fans define as success may be different from owners. I will use the Dallas Cowboys as an example. They are the most valuable American sports franchise but they have not won a superbowl in 29 years. Jerry Jones and Steven (Owners) are not bothered and don’t see a problem because they fill the stadiums but the fans are at the verge of rioting because of the failures on the field.

Owners may not have the same sense of urgency as long as the stadium is full and merchandise is selling. It doesn’t translate into success for the fans and that is how “I” feel. How many times have you seen our owners at the stadium? They only care about the finances because it is a business for them.
As per the bolded you are gradually coming to terms with my point. That is the reason why you should be looking at the owners to blame and not Arteta.

I raised the issues of Amorim and the 190m to make you defend it and it has led us to this common ground.

You have clearly and correctly stated that winning titles depends largely on the commitment of the owners citing the Dallas Cowboys as example.

If indeed we fans want titles we should be looking at whether the Kroenke's are thinking like us and if they are not we call them out.

Arsenal have made huge profits this year according to reports and so we must demand that part of it being translated to titles for the fans.

Can the owners release 200m for Arteta to play with without needing to sell any of his current crop? That money can easily fetch us a solid midfielder and two powerful forwards.

It is then we can now hold Arteta responsible if the season doesn't end with a major title at least.

You cannot give a man a piece of stick to fight a lion and expect him to come out victorious just like that

When Partey was benched for Merino at the start of the season, how did that go? Did he not get exposed? Isn’t that why he is strapped to the bench? If Merino was that good, Partey would be in Saudi by January! Again, you are helping me make points.

Merino is that good but we are out there chasing Zubimendi? If Partey leaves, would Merino bench Zubi? Without Partey and with Zubi can Merino break into the first team? If we don’t get Zubi, would you trust that position to Merino? I mean, this isn’t too hard na.
Merino coming in for Partey does not mean they share the same position. Actually, it's Rice who drops to DM (Partey's position) and Merino plays as a LCM.

The backup for Partey is Rice and not Merino. Merino is a backup for Rice not Partey.

Zubimendi is the desired person to take up Partey's position next season if he leaves which doubt he will. He would be offered a one year contract. The person leaving is Jorginho.

That was a hasty conclusion by you because you wanted to score a cheap point 😂

If Merino, who turns 30 next year doesn’t make it anywhere in the midfield of the first team after this season and we get Zubi, that means Merino will become a bench merchant. Watch how folks will turn around and tell you Merino was bought to sit on the bench, just to defend the transfer and Arteta.

We have never said Calafiori is a bad player, never. I follow the Serie A religiously and knew about him before most. But like you rightly said, the team had worse holes to fill that could have made the team better and more balanced than it is. Now, we have a Calafiori who has to wait until injuries or suspensions to make the first team because he can’t displace any of the back 4.
Merino was signed to replace Partey in the midfield. The reason you have the privilege to complain is because Partey is fit and in great form. Something that should surprise you if you're honest with your analysis.

Calafiori and Merino provide us solid options whether from the bench or as starters. Something we have always wanted.

Against Leicester, it was Calafiori who created the chance for Trossard to assist Merino who scored.

Think about this.

I will never believe the players he got were all he wanted for last summer.
U can never expect all signing to come good .
Only low-cost signing have been average the others are doing well bar Tomi coz of injury.
Besides all our players now command a fee unlike years ago.
Arteta decided to loan out non performing players Tavares, Loķinga and that Porto softy.
Tavaresin now a wanted man ...Lokonga is better nut injury is not his friend...I can't say of the other.
If Arteta wasn't ruthless he would not have bought Raya after the performance of the other keeper which he sold.

On funds I can defend.

The others I leave to spy and his friends

Zinnny had his days .

And he will command a fee of not less than 25M being wanted by Dormund and Athletico...but Arteta did not sanction the deal becaus6of cover.

You can turn the amala as much as you want but the facts are the facts! We have 90M pounds sitting on the bench as a result of his choices.

Pep spent 190 million pounds as the standard for competition and spending? What and how much did Slot spend to be leading the pack? How much did NF spend to be challenging for top 4? It is no secret that we do not have the pockets of City, so I am not sure why this is reading like a novel idea. He knew the strength of the team before he decided to clear out options. Calafiori was and still remains a luxury player, Merino can't start, considering the deficits in the team and our financial strength, that amount could have been invested in shoring up the team with capable starters.

When we needed a forward/ striker, who did he sign? He has failed to prioritize the needs of this team. The hindsight on MLS and Nwaneri is only because of his continued failure to integrate academy products into his plans since he joined until the Arsenal hierarchy forced it after Chido-Obi's loss. Everyone out there except Arteta knew Nwaneri and MLS were exceptional talents that needed to be seen but he held on and kept them away. If he had the courage, we would have seen their value earlier than now and not expend on players who can't start. You are not City, you don't have their pocket, so you manage and prioritize correctly.

On this same thread you guys pushed back several times on the idea of a striker/ forward as an attacking option, until he realized he couldn't without it. Sesko's release clause is 55M, you chased Watkins at the last minute, there were other options that could have improved the team from an attacking standpoint but he was busy molding his own striker. Who created the imbalance with our roster? Who spent every season buying defenders in place of attacking options?

When he had options, how many times did he play them? You expect Arsenal to keep all the players and not generate income from players he has absolutely no use for? 6 years into his reign, I am sorry, I won't absolve him from the imbalance of the squad. We are talking about a coach who burns out his best players. Saka did not need to come in during a Carabao cup game that was already in the bag with Arsenal playing 2 days or there about but he decides to bring Saka in and 2 weeks later Saka is done. Havertz did not need to play 90 minutes in so many games, he could barely make it out of one game but he continues to burn them out until Havertz suffered a hammy! These things are not happening in isolation.

Arteta isn't a victim of circumstance and I will not excuse it. He is welcome to resign since we don't have City's pocket. Barca have been limited financially for nearly 3 years but guess what? They have remained competitive using resources efficiently.
Whatever you have said didn't address the main issue.

You have overlooked the owners.

If they feel as you do that Arteta is a failure because he wasted 90m as you claim then let them sack him.

The fact that they are offering him new contracts almost every two years shows that they are satisfied with him. That is where you should be worried and not critiquing Arteta.

If they really want him to succeed as you do, let them spoil him with expensive and quality toys.

Look at Ancelotti, for all the accolades he has nice toys to play with. So being a good manager he wins at will. Same as Pep.

As for Slot, he is yet to show proves. Arteta had been in his position two seasons ago. So there's nothing strange unless he does bottle it. Even if he does, we will give him his due flowers. It's not easy.

When in God's world are you guys to hold this man accountable for once? Are you telling me Arteta has not been backed in the transfer window? Tiny chops? Seriously. This is a man who has continued to mismanage transfer funds with his player choices despite obviously needs of the team.

If we can't be on the same page about the owners backing Arteta, then there is absolutely no need for this debate to continue for me.

This man just spent nearly 90M on 2 players are now bench players! MLS has strapped Calafiori to the bench and Merino can't start. Are you kidding me?

Would 90M pounds get us a starting striker? Would 90M get us a solid deputy for Saka or a Martinelli upgrade? This man had another 60M to spend this winter but waited until the final days to identify Watkins?

Like I said, if you can not be objective for a simplest thing, then there no debate to be had. We are at the peak of our spending and you are saying the owners have not supported him?

When does it end for you?
I am glad you have started mentioning figures.

Arteta was given 90m dollars to win the league. Do you know how much Pep was given for the January transfer window alone? 190m dollars.

If 190m dollars cannot save Pep's season how do we expect that an odd 90m will win Arteta a title. Are we serious?

At the start of the season Arteta wanted a goalkeeper, a defender, a midfielder and a forward. How do you do this with 90m? Even the 90m was partly raised through sale of players like Ramsdale, ESR and Nketiah. So that there was actually no new additions but replacements.
90m despite having to sell of the likes of ESR, Ramsdale and Nketiah and knowing that Tomiyasu isn't coming back from injury.

Yet Arteta mismanaged 90m.

You have called it mismanaged because you think 90m could get us a striker and a backup for Saka. Who does that?

You are thinking so, with the blessed benefit of hindsight because you saw MLS and Ethan. And so you feel the signing of Calafiori and Merino was a waste.

As a manager would you have gambled on a 17yo rookie who has not even signed a professional contract as your LB for the season and expect to win an odd title? Or you expected to rely on an injury free 35yo Partey to be your base midfielder and not sound silly?

Yet Arteta mismanaged 90m.

He mismanaged 90m in the summer then what happened in Jan? Seeing the amount of injuries the team has suffered including players being ruled out for months and some for the rest of the season. Yet we should blame Arteta because he mismanaged 90m.

Let's be objective.

Well the Fact is Arteta has choked in many occasions when it matters the most.

He has failed to seize the moment severally, that even relatively new managers did it.

That’s a fact that is not going to change.

Also, if there was a standardized KPIs which mostly include delivering a trophy, then Arteta has failed.

No one cares how hard your try, what you did, or who came second.

You either win it or you lost.

Finally, if we keep postponing the decision to let him go, then why did we let Wenger go in the first place.

We are basically doing the same thing.

But as for me, personally , I want Arteta to succeed because he has improved our levels no doubt.

But I don’t believe he is the best thing out there and I am willing to risk it.

Finally, if he stays, I won’t mind as I think, he is adapting and growing massively, which is something I have come to appreciate.
So considering the progress we have made you think he is not capable of leading us to a title in the next three years assuming he fails again this year?

What the man needs is support. Give him. The kind of money others received in a transfer window and check again

Come on na.. are you seriously comparing a coach who is barely 2 months into the job in the EPL to the 2nd longest serving coach who is now in his 6th year? Tell me you are joking.

It is easy to say Arteta would have won in Portugal but I can argue otherwise and say he would have been fired after his 2nd year. I am glad to see the City excuse has lost taste and no longer valid considering Slots exploits.

No one is questioning Arteta’s growth in the job but at what expense and what level of tangible success? This season, we are already out of the FA Cup, League Cup and possibly the league. Our only realistic chance that we control is the UCL and while not impossible, it is a stretch.

If we end this season without the EPL or UCL, should I celebrate coming 2nd again? After 6 years? Should I continue to be grateful Arteta is the head coach? He isn’t doing the club any favors.
Man United did not engage Amorim as the 'young inexperienced rookie manager' you are trying to sell to us the same way we know Arteta when he joined.

Amorim is a league winner.

He was brought to replace ETH, in fact RVN was thrown away just to accommodate him.

He was brought to immediately restore Man United to a top four position. He is not expected to use six years to do that. He has had a transfer window to act and he acted.

Are you going to give him an excuse if he doesn't meet his minimum expectation to finish top four?

Amorim has 2 league titles, 3 League Cups and 1 Super Cup. With less than 2 months into the job and with 10 men, he knocked Arteta who is now in his 6th year out of the FA Cup.

If e easy, Arteta can stop being 2nd best choke merchant and win it all just like Amorim.

Since you want to go there, we can go lower.

Since you want to go there and make those who think differently look like haters.

Rest!
Arteta can go to Holland and Portugal and win all their trophies and titles there. At least in Holland and Portugal they don't have Man City 😂

Now that Amorim is in PL, what happened to his preek?

Is it Maresca that they gave 1billion for transfers that he even had the luxury to bench 100m worth players and loan out the likes of Felix etc? They he is struggling.

If you want to use examples use Slot. I will respect it. And that is for now, I will give him his flowers even though he inherited a far better team than young inexperienced Arteta.

No manager I know today would have accepted that Arsenal job. It's like having to look after your grandparents who will shit around when you're just 16. That Arsenal job was the hardest then. Price Of Beans Has Crashed!

I have just been reliably informed that a paint of premium grade Oloyin(Honey) beans has crashed from N12,500 to N7,500 yet the naysayers have kept mute and didn't praise the government. Good news don't sell abi huh

I decided to loud it in appreciation of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC) , Federal Government of Nigeria (FG)N, Lagos State Government (LASG) and every patriotic Nigerian who made this possible while hoping that the price drop remains or even drop further to make it more affordable. Nigeria is truly the greatest nation on earth!

I recall that the Federal Government promised that the price of food stuff will soon crash and they achieved it. Kudos to the Federal Government.

This news really made my day. How much is a paint of beans currently being sold for in your area?
