BlueRayDick: The difference is that Pepe signing made us finish way below top 4, while we finished second in the league with Havertz signing.
This is not me supporting Havertz signing (because I actually don't like Havertz as a player), but just stating facts and putting things into context.
I believe Havertz siging is most stupid signing we ever made after Willian's. Don't fall for that trap. Havertz is like Giroud. He may not give that kind of Lewandoski vibe but he does his job the way the manager instructs. Havertz was our second top scorer last season and is currently our top scorer. So how does it make him the most stupid signing? Emphasis on the bolded |

BlueRayDick: A manager's wages is not necessarily a direct indication of how well the manager is doing as regards managing the team. Most times manager's wages are as a result of negotiations between his agent and the management of the club.
I'm sure he didn't force the club management to hand him a contract that made him the second highest paid manager in the league.
Taking Arsenal from where we were before he joined to where we are now is a feat some other managers have not been able to do with their club. I doubt the club management will sack him because he came second.
In fact, I doubt any club in the premier league will sack their manager because the team came second having spent money on players. You as a fan may call such manager a failure, but the management of the club are will not use emotion to sack a coach that came second in the league, pay him huge severance package and then sign a new manager whom they are not sure will make top 4 the next season.
This is my personal opinion. I don't see how finishing second should warrant a sack letter. This is funny in a shameful way. The least you can do is to encourage the person to take the next step. Any parent the flogs the child for coming second is a sadist. |

iamoyindamola: So we can say arteta indirectly have knowledge and approval of the players So over the last 5 years 75% of players signed by our manager is are defenders or defensive minded 15% are attack minded While 10% are fringe or not needed
If you are part of the board will you trust such person with more investment Now let’s talk about the fringe players Viera 45m Awilo 17m Tavares 8m Kiwior 15m Maquinho 3m
Sum up this we will get 88m, that’s small club transfer budget just imagine what we will do with the money right now And we seems to forget arsenal is not a spending club and arsenal having the luxury with the help of the UK fans to have enough funds only to be blowing it A part of me want to add kaikai and zinchenko because those 2 didn’t add anything to the squad
Abeg he should go to save his almighty reputation City, Madrid or Barca can sign him That 88m for 6 players are the kind of signings you do when you are coming from finishing 8th in the previous season. Imagine that a club like Brentford or West Ham wants to sign Harry Kane or Musiala with 130m. It won't happen despite that/even if they have the money. They have to start somewhere and hope that those players click |

BlueRayDick: Tavares is not suited for EPL , the football in England is too fast paced for him that’s why he seem like he’s an excellent player at Lazio. We’ve tried him in the past and we all see how poor he was; he’s not even as good as Zinchencko that we want to replace .
Some of those players u listed up there , nobody ever thought they will end up being useless when we were signing them. There’s no way any coach can predict if a player will click or not when he reaches ur club . It is only when u start using them that u can then confirm they are not what u were expecting them to be .
Viera for example seem like a decent young player with flair when he was signed . He played well at the under 19 and under 21 European championship where he was named in the team of the tournament . As at the time we were signing him I believe we thought we were adding a gem to our list of talented players like Odegaard . Nobody envisaged that he will be an injury liability who will rarely play .
Point is sometimes the management of the club don’t even know if a player will blow or flop Simple sensible objective reasoning. |

In as much as I didn't rate Xhaka back then, I won't mind calling him back just to discard Advertz. You're not correct Last season Havertz was our second best scorer. This season he is the best. Whether it is the owner mandating Edu to sell before buying or it is due to PSR, nobody can tell. But what I know is we have enough 'deadwoods' in the squad to fund transfers.

Fkforyou: E be like say complacency don Dey do Arteta, at first, I thought it was maturity, but it seems his more comfortable with a draw, than to lose games and as such, will not strive to win every game, so long as we aren’t losing.
By the end of the season, if we lose out on the league, let’s all remember that it’s because of todays game.
After todays game, I expect the coach to be more ruthless with players that aren’t helping him to achieve his objectives. This transfer window is an opportunity for him to do so.
t’s why most coaches use the Jan transfer window to strengthen their squad.
He needs to cut off some players from his team, and he knows the ones that needs to get the axe.
Another thing that I’m worried about ,which might not be true, is the fact that, he looked more hungry and alert when he was competing with Pep and since man city are fumbling this season, he is lacking motivation to go for the league. If that is true, then we are in a deep mess, because I don’t see the hunger and desire from his body language .
Baba has resorted to playing mind games with Liverpool, hoping they drop points while not trying to get his acts together.
The fault is solely not on him, but on our players too that are not focused on trying to improve their level.
I’m afraid, the more serious ones among them will leave to a bigger team like Madrid if the rest don’t step up their game. It's not complacency it's intense pressure. Arteta knows he has to deliver this season because a third second finish would be very disappointing and hilarious whoever wins the league. Especially if it is Liverpool. His biggest problem this season is the health of his team. There are so many injuries and illnesses, then you add stupid yellow cards and red cards. Based on points he is still where he was last season and though he has made the team more difficult to beat, the question is will it be enough? If he doesn't win the league this season he should consider it a failure. Let him pray that the owners will release money to rescue himself |

Fkforyou: It’s okay to talk to your players but not always wanting to tell them what to do and where to stay, when you are a player just like them, and whenever he gets the ball under pressure he himself doesn’t know what to do. BlueRayDick: You don't even need luck to stop Mbeumo there at all. Saliba does that almost every game, all he just needed to do was close him down and narrow the angle by blocking off his strongest foot. It's either the ball ricochet off his leg or the shot ends up being a weak & ineffective shot.
Calafiori messed up there, simple and straight. We sef don play ball before I will never judge a defender if he is faced with an attacker 1v1. Rather it's the cover (Gabriel M). What Mbeumo did was simple, aim at Cala blind side. That blind side was where GM should be. Mbeumo was always going to cut in and shoot. You would be lucky to block the shut. If GM was where Mbeumo was going to cut in, he would have had no option than to go wide. I can't blame one for being dribbled, I blame the cover for leaving the space after the dribble. |

BlueRayDick: That goal is solely on Calafiori. The Brentford striker didn’t even do anything spectacular to beat him at all. Timber in that same position and the ball would’ve ricochet off his legs and back to midfield . You will be lucky to stop a professional player from taking a shot at goal 1v1. It is difficult for goal keepers talk less of player. |

Spy360: I believe Nwaneri can play RW. He is not afraid to take his man 1v1, he has pace, positional awareness and he is also a good finisher. He can develop himself into an excellent backup player for the two most important attacking players we have in Saka and Odegaard. That would be worth up to 100m in savings for the club.
If it doesn't work out, it's best we make use of the transfer window now. I hear Mbeumo is being talked to. That would be a very good option. These two months Saka would be likely out can make or mar our season. Spot on |

That not being enough is obvious, the opponents weren't matched or outsmarted in the run. That's the major reason. We'll see sha. Liverpool will have to suffer a major breakdown similar to Man City for us to surpass them. The goals they conceded against Tottenham is a good sign that their defense is cracking because that has been their major strength this season. Like our defense is our major problem too. |
