If you understand the meaning of being docile you would see your gullible self in the mirror.
Preaching 'hope' like your fathers and grandfather, make una continue una foolishness
When they were enslaving your ancestors didn't they know Jesus was coming soon?

Jeromejnr:
The bible was not written for your so called kingdom and its GDP. The bible Constantly empahsises God's Kingdom to come on the earth.

Besides, God has given you earthlings instructions on how to better each others lives which can help improve your GDP's but did you listen.

Blame yourselves, your governments and your docile minds and stop venting your frustrations on the Bible.
Literature › Re: Vivian ‘Lam Book "Nigeria, Re-awakening The Giant" Set To Be Launched In Abuja by StaffofOrayan(m): 7:44pm On Mar 12, 2019
I just hope the bible can raise our GDP and lift us out of poverty.
Throughout history a conquered people take the religion of the conqueror, Nigeria is an example, the places conquered by whites are mostly Christians and the people subjugated by the Fulanis/mohamedians are Muslim some South West states involved.
That you would believe your conqueror would give you his religion because he loves you and wants you to join him in heaven is the most naive crap I have ever come across.

Jeromejnr:
The truth is, the book is vain just like many other books on the earth. Most of these books don't change or won't change anything.

The Bible is forever sure. It transforms and gives hope for life here and for all eternity.

Business › Re: Why You Should Worry Again About The Central Bank’s New Forex Ban by StaffofOrayan(m): 11:40am On Mar 12, 2019
Hahahaha indulgence!!!! That's a funny word to use.
You can't indulge in what has never been available. Nigerians already pays for electricity.
What we need to do is stop selling power to Benin and Niger Republic and focus on our own local supply, that is only common sense,
Remember Nigeria had to threaten both countries recently which made the release $10m to Nigeria.

grandstar:
Staffoforayan, if in places like Benin republic, people pay the market rate for power, why can't the.richer Nigeria pay.?

The basic problem is that when people are used to an indulgence for too long, it's as if they can't live without it.

These same people pay ridiculous amounts to power their generators far above the DISCO's rate. I
Business › Re: Why You Should Worry Again About The Central Bank’s New Forex Ban by StaffofOrayan(m): 9:19am On Mar 12, 2019
A state of emergency has to be declared on electricity and it has to start from the citizens not making excuses for the govt, discos can't charge higher for what they are not getting, about 12000Mw is generated but less than 5000 is consumed, that is all on the government.
Despite all the problems in Venezuela, they have just started experiencing electrical shortages, That's the power of infrastructure which is lacking.
The govt has to play it's part. The power grid has to be part of a countries national security assets.

theoldpretender:
As it is, Lagos town needs 15000mw....so at 1MW for 1million USD....that means you would spend $15,000,000,000 (15 billion IUSD) giving Lagos power.

And our foreign reserve is just 40bn. Abacha loot was under 4bn (and we have other needs mind). We have spent 300bn USD on the wild goose chase up North...that is just 340 watts using your calculation.

In other words...the money we need is FAR more than what Abacha loot and oil search loot will get us to.Like we need up to 15000 or more watts extra right now.

See the problem? and see why we need to allow DISCOS to charge higher...so that lots of investors will come in from abroad...and eventually prices come down and power improves?

We did the same for GSM. People paid N10000 for SIM cards at a time when service was poor. GSM guys took that money...and Nigerians back them were saying they were cheating us...and used the money to make services better.

Either we are realistic...or we just keep on suffering in silence.
Business › Re: Why You Should Worry Again About The Central Bank’s New Forex Ban by StaffofOrayan(m): 8:35am On Mar 12, 2019
""The cost per watt per solar installation (at this scale) will range based on several factors, such as available sunlight hours and location, but it's usually around $1/watt. Thus, a 1-megawatt solar farm would cost around $1 million to install""

Wasting millions of $ searching for oil or sharing abacha loot about when there is a power emergency. Imagine all the jobs that would be created, the number of manpower empowered,

I called you a clown coz your input is comical to say the least.

theoldpretender:
All right...lets then face the reality of low power.

Oil is at $60 and below. We need it at $140 to earn enough. Since we are not earning enough, and since you don't want to pay for power because we are poor ...then let's manage with the limited power we have.

You cannot get something for nothing.

Good morning...and next time, don't insult people with whom you disagree. You could have made your point without calling me a clown. You are not a child anymore. Don't use childish language.
Business › Re: Why You Should Worry Again About The Central Bank’s New Forex Ban by StaffofOrayan(m): 8:08am On Mar 12, 2019
Hahaha
With clowns like you why does the govt need to work?
Your point is that if an impoverished population pay more for power, power plants would suddenly spring up? A country where traders are loaned N10,000? There are no jobs, govt have to help parents feed their children in schools!!!
It's 4 years and there hasn't been noticeable improvements in electricity.
We can both bet N5m that after 4 years electricity won't greatly improve and you would continue blaming the citizens.
I saw you talking about South Africa now chew this quote and see how much you have internalized the failures of government.

""The domestic worker sector's wage in South Africa is set on 75% of the new national wage of R20 per hour, and so the new minimums will be R2, 625 per month or R15 per hour. However the minimum wage is the very bare minimum. It only covers the employer legally because you are within the law""

PS: R2,625 is N66,369.

theoldpretender:
1.Most Nigerians don't pay for power. Am sure Burundi has power because MOST people pay for power...and their government does not owe money

2.Plus there are large parts of that country that don't have access to power too.

3.Tell me, where are we going to get the money from? Another loan won't help matters.

The economic reforms embarked upon by china helped to propel China into the ranks of the world's major economic powers not massive taxing of its poor citizens.
A country with a shrinking middle class can't survive more taxes.
You can't tax your way into prosperity, if you do wealthy individuals would attempt to leave the country or take wealth out to avoid paying taxes. Business101(Panama papers leak is an example)
Nigeria's problem is simple

My point is even the citizens don't think it's cause for concern, even if fuel is $500, a typical Buhari/Atiku won't let his child school in Nigeria and the ones that do chose private universities even though ALL of them benefited from Nigerian educational institutions.
Same with the health sector. EVERY politician goes abroad to treat themselves, until that changes NOTHING would change.
Using GSM as an example can only stand if it was a public/private partnership but it isn't.

theoldpretender:
And where will we get the money to build and maintain good infrastructure if not raised tarrifs and taxes.

Covenant has top notch facilities compared to your government universities because fees are sky high.

The oil we rely on needs to be at 140 dollars per barrel before we can have a balanced budget
Health › Re: Nigeria Spends $700m On Alternative Water Providers, Says World Bank by StaffofOrayan(m): 11:55am On Mar 06, 2019
The solution is not always an increment of tariff
Just like the solution to Nigeria's poor education is not increasing Tuition.
We have to admit we are a 3rd world country, fresh out of slavery and declare a state of emergency on infrastructure.

theoldpretender:
Basically, water companies need to make a profit so that they can afford much more modern equipment AND afford maintenance costs that would mean no more polluted water or poor water supply.

That is why GSM is working in Nigeria because GSM companies are allowed to charge prices that allow them to make a profit.

Let's be realistic. It is painful, and God knows that high prices affect my pocket, as yours, but all the polluted water is what we get for paying low prices, plus corruption.

Thank you

They just can't stand anybody criticizing Buhari even when their children would benefit from the criticism.
