I agree with the pastor. |
frosbel: ^^You spoke my mind. I agree with everything he said except the aspect of healing. When I lay hands on the sick they recover. Healing is the Children's bread. Be blessed. |
Joagbaje: Death is an enemy of God, death is also a spirit. What I understand by this is that death itself and the occupants of hell will be thrown into the lake of fire ![]() |

i.chuka:GNTCE VERSION 1In the beginning, when God created the universe, 2the earth was formless and desolate. The raging ocean that covered everything was engulfed in total darkness, and the Spirit of God was moving over the water. 3 Then God commanded, “Let there be light”—and light appeared. 4God was pleased with what he saw. Then he separated the light from the darkness, 5and he named the light “Day” and the darkness “Night.” Evening passed and morning came—that was the first day. MSG VERSION 1First this: God created the Heavens and Earth—all you see, all you don’t see. 2Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God’s Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss. 3God spoke: “Light!” And light appeared. 4God saw that light was good NCV VERSION 1In the beginning God created the sky and the earth. 2The earth was empty and had no form. Darkness covered the ocean, and God’s Spirit was moving over the water. 3Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4God saw that the light was good, so he divided the light from the darkness. 5God named the light “day” and the darkness “night.” Evening passed, and morning came. This was the first day. NIRV VERSION 1In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2The earth didn’t have any shape. And it was empty. Darkness was over the surface of the ocean. At that time, the ocean covered the earth. |
Truly Worth Reading |
i.chuka:There are inhabitable parts of the earth. Even the deserts and underground caves were created by God. Prior to making the earth habitable, there was nothing but land mass and water over the earth. According to Gen 1:3, God created the earth even before He created light. So the earth was in darkness at this time. Just shut your eyes tight and imagine how it was. No light. No green grass. No Ozone layer. No perfect atmosphere. No seasons. Nothing. The whole earth was inhabitable at that time. It was formless and void. But God began to make it a home. Not just a planet but a home for man. Think about how you buy a piece of undeveloped land. It's full of trees and bush. There are wild animals everywhere, including snakes. You get people to clear the land. You start the foundation. You complete the structure and develop it. Then you furnish your house. What you have done is to transform that inhabitable bush into a home. That is what God did on earth. |
Joagbaje: Pre adamite world I believeMost people believe (although scripture doesn't say so) that something occurred between Gen 1:1 and Gen 1:2. But could that be true? Should we seriously believe such theory without scriptural backing? The truth is, nothing really happened there. Think about this... What makes the earth beautiful and full of life? If you know the answer, now imagine taking away all of that, and you have a formless and lifeless earth. When God created the earth, I believe all He first created was the land mass and the waters. There were no trees, grasses, animals, nothing. Just darkness. The sun had not been commanded to come forth and bring light upon the earth. The flowers did not provide any beauty cos they didn't exist yet. Before God brought forth every life form, there was nothing here to give form or life to the earth. God began to transform the formless void into a beautiful place for man to exist. Of course He divided the waters, brought light, provided the right amount of oxygen, put deposits of hydrocarbon (crude oil), gold, diamond etc. And of course God began to create the plants, the animals and every life form. Now the earth was a good home for God's children. Think about how expectant Parents prepare their babies room before the baby is born. An unused storage room can be transformed into a beautiful crib. And we know God is more loving than every man. Our love nature comes from Him. |
Joagbaje: God created lucifer . . . Lucifer turned himself to satanWhere and when did Lucifer become satan (the adversary)? Obviously in Eden. Lucifer had been placed (not cast down) in Eden. Eden was Adam's home. His work place you may say. Scripture explains that lucifer was still perfect when he was in Eden (the home of Adam). So his disobedience occurred when he was still in duty in Eden. He saw the chance to deceive Adam through Eve and he took it. Only God was above man, and if lucifer could become above man, it means he has become like God. |
Joagbaje: Such comparison may not hold water. Can we then say that paying a tenth of your income to any man does not offer any significant advantage in terms of proserity? Can we calmly say tithers are not the richest, most educated, or greatest inventors in the world? I believe we can safely say that tithes do not open the door of prosperity. That door is already open and many have walked through it without paying tithes. |
Joagbaje: ^^^^I'm glad we reason together. The point is, there is no law binding any believer to any particular assembly. Sons of God are free to fellowship wherever they feel comfortable and loved. If they have decided to change assembly, they have committed no offense whatsoever in the sight of our Father. We have received Peace from God. We shouldn't trade that peace for anything. We do not need to be men-pleasers, staying in an assembly just so we won't be criticized if we tried to leave. A believer in RCCG is free to start fellowshipping at CEC, or to devote his entire salary to care for a widow in CAC. |
mkmyers45: Laying of hands have been largely proven ineffective..I have and still do lay hands on the sick and they recover. DO you think sickness has power over men? God forbid. Even medicinal tablets made by men are powerful enough to knock down, knock out and eliminate symptoms and traces of illness. Herbal remedies also show significant superiority over a wide range of diseases. As for laying of hands, that's just the greatest of them all, if you know how to do so. You don't need a degree before you can get a person healed as a believer. You just need the right knowledge. |
Joagbaje: A pastor has sheep under himPastors are called to serve. To serve a local assembly is not the same as being in control of the members of that assembly. Believers are free to fellowship wherever and whenever they choose. That doesn't take away the place of pastoral leadershipIn the Body of Christ we have Servants called to serve. Jesus said "The least among you shall be the greatest in the Kingdom... Do not be like the world who lord over their subjects". The church has always been one. In this context ,he s dealing with "a local assembly" the local assembly are under different leadership but the body as a whole is under Christ.Every member in the Household of God is a minister. We are all called to serve with our different gifts, not to be served. But they still met in different buildings . Private homes and public buildings . Not a virtual cyber ,assemblyAsk yourself, Which Assembly each of the early believers belonged to? They fellowshipped with believers anywhere they met. If a member of CEC is free to fellowship in any branch of CEC, should a member of RCCG not also be free (without attracting criticism from fellow members) to begin to fellowship in any CEC or Assemblies of God local assembly? The Truth is, if we remove the various names and denominations, we will eventually find nothing wrong in fellowshipping with our brethren anywhere. How will it be if all the signboards and the names of all congregations and denomination became harmonized to just one name..THE SAINTS? If the sign post of the RCCG assembly close to your house was changed to CEC, will you feel different to fellowship there? What if the signpost on your CEC assembly is changed to DLBC, will your reaction to attendance change? |
miomonio: By the way I ate plantain with that your post about or on "Renew your thoughts".Don't really understand what you are trying to say. |
miomonio: You are probably not the best to ask since you werent the author but staggerman what exactly is it that Adam was doing that he knew i.e. when he was taking, eating and ate the fruit.Adam was not forced nor coerced to eat of the tree. Lucifer did not convince Adam to eat from the tree. Eve convinced Adam to eat from it. Adam had received instruction from God concerning the fruit of the tree. Adam listened to his wife and disobeyed, having full knowledge of the consequences. Just as Esau knew what would happen when he accepted to trade his birthright for a meal. When Job's wife tried to convince him to curse God and die, he refused. Job knew the consequence of such action just as Adam knew the consequence of his action. But Job didn't allow his wife to deceive him, unlike Adam. |
Jutheone: Enlightening... God bless u.You too are blessed.... We all need to be free from the false teachings that have held the Sons of God in bondage. |
No one really owns a Church. We are the Church. The True Sons of God. Pastors in the Body of Christ should not claim control nor ownership of the Saints of God. WE only come together for fellowship, not to pledge allegiance to any man or pastor. The early Church was one. Even when the Corinthians tried to pledge allegiance to Paul or to Appolos, Paul called them babies. Paul didn't claim ownership over them when the opportunity arose to do so. He Said "I have planted, Appolos has watered, and God gave increase" Remember that pastors are servants in the Church. They are not lords over the rest of the Body of Christ. We should be concerned about serving one another, just as Jesus did and demonstrated in washing the feet of His early disciples. Pastors should quit arguing about members leaving their fellowship. Finally, Christ built His Church in the hearts of men. He didn't erect building and call them church, neither did the early disciples. The Church was built in the hearts of men. The Kingdom of God came into men. Therefore, wherever these men went, the Church was there and the Kingdom of God was demonstrated through bearing each others burden and helping the needy, as well as demonstrating power over sin, sickness, and demons. |
Most Christians believe the answer to that question is obvious: “God created Satan.” But that is not really true. God created Lucifer. That may seem like a small distinction at first glance, but once you understand who really made Satan, it will change your perspective of him forever. You will never again doubt your authority over the devil. You will realize that he is an inferior being, unable to do anything without the cooperation of a human being. And any fear you have of him will disappear as you realize he is nothing but a big zero with the rim knocked off. I believe that God created everything, including Lucifer. He created Lucifer as a powerful anointed angel. However, Lucifer wasn’t satisfied with that, and he didn’t remain the anointed cherub that God created him to be. Ezekiel 28:13-14 describe him as he originally was in the Garden of Eden: “Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.” Most people believe that Lucifer took one-third of the angels and rebelled against God in heaven, where he was defeated and then cast to earth. This is all taken from one scripture, in Revelation 12:4, and was popularized by Finis Dake in the Dake’s Bible commentary. I don’t believe that is what actually happened. I believe that Satan was originally on this earth in the Garden of Eden as Lucifer. He was God’s number one angel sent to earth to be a blessing to Adam and Eve. Hebrews 1:14 says this about angels: “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” Lucifer wasn’t sent to the earth to tempt Adam and Eve but to bless them. He was an angelic being sent to be their protector, to minister to them, and to serve them. He was there on a divine mission, still in his perfect state. It was in the Garden that his transgression against God was conceived and carried out. Ezekiel 28:15 goes on to say, “Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.” I have never been able to follow the logic that God sent Satan to earth to tempt man and see how he would respond. As a father, would you take your two-year-old child and put him or her in a cage with a lion just to see how he or she would respond? That would obviously be irresponsible; the child would be no match for the lion. God wouldn’t do that to us, and he didn’t do that to Adam and Eve. So, what made Lucifer turn against God? Lucifer watched as God did something for man that He had never done with any other of His creation. When God created man, not only was he made in the very image of God, but he was then given unconditional authority over this earth. Genesis 1:26 says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” He didn’t say to them, “Now as long as you follow my leading and as long as you do what I want you to do, I will let you have dominion over the earth.” There was zero qualification for this power and authority. God spoke it and that was it. God says in Psalm 89:34, “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.” In Hebrews 1:3 it says, “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” (emphasis mine). What this is saying is that God cannot lie; it’s the integrity of His Word that holds the entire universe together. Unlike human beings who reserve the right to change their minds, God will not violate His Word. When He told Adam and Eve they had dominion, authority, and power to subdue and rule, it was done. Lucifer understood the integrity of God’s words, and when he heard this, I believe his antenna went up. He saw that Adam and Eve had something he wanted but didn’t have: They had unconditional authority. In a way, they had been made the gods of this world; it was theirs to rule and subdue. We read in Psalm 115:16, “The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.” Even though Lucifer may have been God’s number one angel, he still wanted more. He was jealous and envious; he actually wanted to take God’s place. In Isaiah 14:13 it says, “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north.” The next verse says, “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” Lucifer understood that if he could deceive Adam and Eve into willingly relinquishing their authority to him that he could become the god of this world. He could take the authority that was given to mankind, use it to thwart the kingdom of God, and receive the praise and adoration and glory he wanted. Romans 6:16 says this, “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” So, who made Satan? We did! The moment Adam and Eve yielded to Lucifer, he became Satan, the god of this world. You might be thinking, But Satan deceived them. Shouldn’t God have stopped him? Read 1 Timothy 2:14: “And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.” Adam knew what he was doing. I believe the moment Lucifer transgressed against God, he lost his angelic power. Satan now has no power or authority of his own; he only has what he has been able to deceive people into giving him. Now, that is a powerful statement. Think about what that means to you as a believer. When we are resisting the devil and fighting against him, Satan does not have a superior power or authority. He is absolutely dependent upon the cooperation of a human being who will empower him with the authority God gave them. Satan is going about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He is looking for people who will open the door through things like lust, rebellion, strife, unforgiveness, fear, and more. When we yield to those things, we are empowering him to destroy us, and I guarantee you, given the opportunity, he will eat your lunch and pop the bag. http://www.awmi.net/extra/article/made_satan |

I'd like the tithers and non-tithers to answer the following: 1. Are all tithers billionaires? 2. Are all cars and houses on earth owned only by tithers? 3. Are all non-tithers living in poverty (this includes Bill Gates, Aliko Dangote, etc)? 4. Do all tithers have good jobs, leaving the menial jobs for non-tithers? 5. Are all tithers living in the best places in the world, while non-tithers live in ghettos? 6. Do all tithers get admission into universities of their choice, while non-tithers are not favoured with such admissions? 7. Do all tithers graduate with 1st class, while all non-tithers who barely manage to get admission, only graduate with poor results? 8. Do all tithers easily get their choice of life partners than non-tithers? 9. Is it possible to say no tither has problems/challenges with regards to shelter, food, clothing, school fees, fruit of the womb, job, health etc? 10. Will all tithers go to heaven, while all non-tithers will be doomed to hell (whether or not they have believed in Jesus Christ. Jn 3:16)? 11. Are tithers the richest men in the world? 12. Are non tithers the poorest men in the world? |
You have said it all. I don't pay tithes, yet I got a fantastic job and I'm still progressing in my career. My business is growing because God has already blessed every man with the ability to make wealth. Ever thought of how Dangote has risen to become a great billionaire in our time? A man who doesn't pay a tenth of his income as tithes, neither does he sow the seeds demanded by most frauds. |
What's the point of asking or praying for something you already have? Believers don't pray for blessings cos we are already blessed. We need to stop acting like unbelievers and start living like believers. If God has given us His Son, will He not also freely give us everything? IN CHRIST every blessing is made available. We do not need to pay tithe before we can become as rich as Bill Gates (who by the way did not become rich through tithes). We need to stop looking at ourselves and stop paying those tithes and offerings just because we are made to believe it's a way of receiving God's blessings. It's time we started looking out for each other. Reaching out to someone in need is a sign that we know God (Jeremiah 22:16). Bearing one anothers burden is a fulfillment of the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). Loving each other is a sign that we are true disciples of Christ (John 13:34,35). Doing unto others as we would like done to us, is the fulfillment of the whole law (Matthew 7:12). So I tell you, if we know God, fulfill the law of Christ, become known as true disciples of Christ and fulfill the whole law, we have done well and the world will become a much better place. Change starts with you... Reprogramme yourself. Unlearn your old stinking habits. Change the world by changing your mind and actions. |

The reason most people do not see the manifestation of God's healing in their body is because they don't have faith for it. Of course some people hope they could get healed, but hope is not faith. A lot of people have been misled through false teachings and old church traditions that are far from the Truth. Healing is healing! Simple. Healing does not have to be manifested through special feelings. You don't even have to feel anything. It just happens. Think about this... When a person is sick (let's say malaria), and given anti-malaria drugs, the person doesn't wait for any special feeling as a proof that the drug is working. Fact is, the only proof is the disappearance of some or all of the malaria symptoms, and the gradual regaining of strength. But the reverse is the case when most people seek Divine healing. They focus on feelings. When a believer lays hands on some sick folks, the sick folks begin to expect tingling sensations over their body. Some want to feel a flow like electric current pass through their body, so they can believe that God has moved within their body to set them free from sickness. This is not always the case. So, most of these people walk away disappointed. As far as they are concerned, God has failed to heal them. They fail to stand in true faith (which is in God's promises), but rather have put their faith in their ability to receive sensations in their body as proof of healing. This also affects most believers who try to pray for the sick. Some believers wrongfully expect anyone they lay hands on ought to to fall, lose consciousness or feel something move through their body. When this doesn't happen, they think God is absent (like baal in the old testament), or not willing to do anything about the situation. But the truth is, Healing is just healing. Whether it comes through physical medicine or spiritual medicine (God's promise). We do not have to wait for special feelings before we believe we are healed. Jesus says "When you pray (for your healing) believe that you have received (your healing) and you will have it". Remember Jesus didn't say when you feel it, believe it. He said When you pray, believe it is done. God bless you and I pray you witness many more healing everywhere you go. Be blessed. |
