Chelsea have lodged a surprise €20m offer with Turkish giants Fenerbahce for Nigeria striker Emmanuel Emenike and are ready to wrap a deal one of Europe’s most quickest, if not unpredictable forwards once the World Cup concludes.

Emenike has spent less than 12 months with Fener after completing a late switch to Istanbul from Spartak Moscow last summer, but Turkish newspaper Fanatik is reported by the Metro to believe that Chelsea are chasing fresh strike cover in a move that has come completely out of the blue.

Nigeria captain Vincent Enyeama believes the
African champions can win next year's World
Cup in Brazil.
The Super Eagles became the first African side
to qualify for the 2014 World Cup after
beating Ethiopia 2-0 on Saturday for a 4-1
aggregate victory.
Enyeama believes Nigeria can become the first
African team to not only reach the semi-finals
but even win the final.
"[Are we going] to make an impression at the
World Cup? No, we can actually win it," the
goalkeeper told BBC Sport.
"I wouldn't be surprised if Nigeria win the
World Cup one day - maybe with me. It's just
a matter of time and moment. Everything is
possible. Impossible is nothing."
The veteran international continued his fine
run in goal by keeping a clean sheet against
the Ethiopians to add to his seven successive
clean sheets with French side Lille.
But his confidence about a Nigerian triumph
in Brazil next year flies in the face of both
history and form.
The two-time African champions have not won
a match at the World Cup since beating
Bulgaria in 1998, which is the last time the
Super Eagles made it to the knock-out stages.
In both 2002 and 2010 Nigeria exited the
tournament disappointingly early.
Nonetheless, Enyeama says his confidence
stems from his strong faith in Christianity.
"I believe in God, I believe in the Bible, which
says he chooses who he chooses," the 31-
year-old explained. "What if he [God] chooses
Nigeria. I don't believe in statistics and you
can never rule us out."
In the long history of the World Cup, only
three African teams have ever reached the
quarter-finals: Cameroon in 1990, Senegal in
2002 and Ghana in 2010.
Meanwhile, Ethiopia coach Sewnet Bishaw
slammed referee Bakary Papa Gassama for his
side's elimination on Saturday.
The Gambian awarded a harsh penalty against
Ethiopia in the first half, which allowed Victor
Moses to set Nigeria on the road to Brazil.
"The referee won the game for Nigeria," he
complained. "It is the referee because he
denied us two penalties and gave them a soft
penalty. These were not fair decisions.
"My players are young and most of them play
locally but we will continue to work hard so

Jordan in Oman on the 28th October.
This match will serve Jordan to prepare for their World Cup
play-off match against Uruguay will also help Nigeria to

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday showered cash on victorious Golden Eaglets for clinching the
cup at the just concluded Under 17 world championship in United Arab Emirate.
While the head coach got N3 million, all three assistant coaches got N2.5 million each, team doctor,
physiotherapist and secretary, got N500,000 each while the media officer, team coordinator, equipment
manager all got N300,000 each.
He also announced that the team and some members of the Supporter Club would be given national
honours but the category was not disclosed.
The president said their victory had brought honour and pride to the country, noting that the boys in
seven months transformed from being second best in Africa (they came second at the African U17 held in
Morocco in May) to being the best in the world today.
He said shear dedication, discipline and sportsmanship led to the team’s success, stressing that the
latest victory had brought to five the number of championship Nigeria had won during the life of this
administration, saying “this is definitely the golden era in Nigerian sports.”
President Jonathan said the victory was not a surprise because after the 2012 disastrous outing at the
London 2012 Olympics, and after the presidential retreat, the sector was reorganised adding “and here
we are winning on all fronts today.”
He pledged continuous support for the sector for more victories in future championships.
He commended the fact that Nigeria set two world records by being the only country to win the
championship four times and by scoring 26 goals in the tournament.
“You won fairly and convincingly and we are very proud of you. This victory is for Africa and the
beginning of revival in the nation’s football.
“Let this victory be a start off point for you, your family and your country.”
He thanked the coaching crew for a job well done, but said the true enduring test lies in the successes of

new comer Sweden live to settle their supremacy 'row' at the ongoing 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Cup
in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after both teams booked their places in the semi-finals.
While Sweden clawed back from a 1-0 half-time deficit to defeat Honduras 2-1 in their quarter-final at

In our nigeria today some of our nursing mothers choose not to breast feed their babies in public and open places and even for those of them that go with their children to work refuse to feed their kids in public but in this case i dont blame them because i feel every company or organisation should have a nursery where nursing mothers should take their kids to when they need to be breastfed. SECONDLY most our young mothers today deny their babies the right to suck from their breasts as saying they are still young and wouldn't want to have a sagged breast cos they still want to have a sexy breast, again most of them breastfeed for just 2months and when asked they say doctors advised them not to feed more than 2months and they can start applying baby foods after then while some breast feed for 6months(exclusive breastfeeding) before they start applying other baby foods. So fellow nairalanders i'd love to know if breastfeeding in public is advisable and why some of these women think having a nursery in our companies and organisations are necessary and again what are the consequences of not giving their babies breast milk and also how long a baby should be breastfed before other baby foods can be applied.

This thread is mostly for women because women of the present society choose not to breast feed their children in public while some choose not to breast feed at all and some reasons being that they fear they might lose their sexy breasts and probably have a sagged breast. Some doctors advice mothers to breastfeed their babies for atleast 6months while some doctors would advice them not to breastfeed again and start applying baby foods, so i'd love to know what advice can be best given to these mothers

I really dont know what people mean when they call some people outcasts but i believe its an old time belief and even in the bible i dont think such a thing exists and to me its totally unfair to those people that are considered as outcasts. I can remember when an uncle of mine brought in a girl he said he had d intention of marrying so after a mutual agreement between the two families the girl was allowed to come stay with him of which she later got pregnant for him and few weeks to the marriage so gossips later came in with a news that she's an OSU(outcast) and that was how the marriage ended and the girl was driven back to her people with the baby she gave birth to , so fellow nigerians i'd love to know why some people are considered as outcasts and also to discuss a measure on how dis old time useless belief can be totally curbed out of our present day society

Nelson Mandela has left hospital
and has gone to his
Johannesburg home, where he

It says his home has been

receive intensive care there" and
he will be treated by the same
health care personnel as in
hospital.
If necessary, he will be
readmitted to hospital, the
