PoliticsRe: "Most States are not viable": Agbakoba seeks return to regional Government by Standing5(m): 5:42pm On Jul 14, 2024
Melagros:
COMRADES, does Agbakoba want the injustice to keep moving in Nigeria unabated?
Let each region has 6 states before we talk about anything
regions recognized colloquially or constitutionally?

You are dreaming within a coma.

If we return to regional govt some ppl will loose out cos they have spent years building lagos. Now they all have to leave....to their underdeveloped states/region but its never too late to start.
same.people have properties in all state capitals and no one is saying regionalism will forbid ownership of properties by citizens from other regions.

Oga the bigger hall means more people can hear the gospel simultaneously and always good. If the gospel has done any good in your miserable life, you won't dampen the prospect of any other soul enjoying same. You are just a devil feigning membership in order to discredit that church.

This one has become another arm of the propaganda apparatus of this govt of excuses. Name them or keep shut and stop generating distraction headlines for a failing govt. Govt struggling so badly in first 12 or 48 months yet already scheming for the next 48 months that will make their stay 96months. They are only planning to be in power long term and not doing any impactful project that long term and feasible.

RomanceRe: How Loan Sharks Are Treating Me Currently by Standing5(m): 8:38am On Jul 14, 2024
Antwan99:
I took a loan of N2000 to repay 3200 after 7 days. The interest was exorbitant but everyone knows the situation in the country. I repayed before the due date and took same amount when the go wasn't going again. I still repayed and took yet another which was now increased to N3150 to repay N4500. The problem now is that the due date was yesterday and I am critically down with malaria or thyphoid as I type right now. Iam totally week and don't have any money to treat myself. I can't even eat due to loss of appetite and even if I could I don't have money.

This loan shark has been bombarding with calls and threats. This is my first experience with them as I don't take loans from them usually.

My situation is very pathetic.

Let God touch someone to save a soul this today. This is just my prayer.

PoliticsRe: Food Importation May Destroy Nigeria’s Agric Sector – Akinwumi Adesina by Standing5(m): 8:14am On Jul 14, 2024
Gbajabiamila1:
He is protecting his and AfDB's interest with the statement. They have given Nigeria millions of Dollars for Agric development in Nigeria. If you import food, how will they justify giving such money to us if the purpose is not achieved?
However, he should consider that people are hungry and need some relief at least for the 6 months they are planning to import. Within the period, if all hands are on deck and their grants are well utilized, then we should be able to boast of abundance and affordability in Agric sector.
the real gbaja?
PoliticsRe: Food Importation May Destroy Nigeria’s Agric Sector – Akinwumi Adesina by Standing5(m): 8:11am On Jul 14, 2024
Beremx:
Oga Adeshina abeg go siddon!! If you cannot profer solutions to the scarcity of food, please keep quiet. Nigerians are hungry. No be big grammar we go chop
he is right. We should have cultivated harder but since we are in it already, importation is inevitable. A tonne of corn in intl market is around $260 or N400,000. That brings a bag of 100kg down to around N40k and let's say N60k-N70k with sellers profit. Check corn price in agriculture section of nairaland.com and see for yourself the disparity. We need import since we failed in local cultivation.

Egypt and Zimbabwe are doubling local wheat production while we are doubling local wheat production propaganda under APC govt here.

PoliticsRe: Return Of Suicide Bombers: We’re Back To Our Worst Nightmare — Northern Leaders by Standing5(m):
The causes are poverty which comes with ignorance and unemployment. So, to defeat terrorism permanently, the government should apply both punitive and preventive measures. The punitive measure is the provision of enough and properly equipped security personnel who are well motivated to secure the nation while the preventive measure is the prioritization of education and health of the people.
These people still haven't smelled the coffee. Where will money to prioritize education of people who reject it come from?
Your brother was there for eight years after using the narrative of ending security challenges to snatch power but couldn't do anything. Instead he was borrowing like a demon and prioritized his beloved katsina above the so called "burning" region.
Goats reason better than these people.

PoliticsRe: Which One Is Superior To The Other by Standing5(m): 5:56pm On Jul 13, 2024
OKOATA:
In Yoruba tradition, both the Alaafin of Oyo and the Ooni of Ife are highly revered monarchs, but their roles and significance differ.

The Alaafin of Oyo is the king of the Oyo Empire, which was a powerful and influential empire in West Africa. The Alaafin is considered the spiritual and political leader of the Yoruba people.

The Ooni of Ife, on the other hand, is the king of the ancient city of Ile-Ife, which is considered the spiritual birthplace of the Yoruba people. The Ooni is revered as the spiritual leader and custodian of Yoruba culture and traditions.

In terms of superiority, it's not a question of one being superior to the other. Both monarchs have their own unique roles and significance in Yoruba culture and tradition. The Alaafin is often referred to as the "Emperor" of the Yoruba people, while the Ooni is referred to as the "Spiritual Leader" or "Father of the Yoruba people".

So, it's not about superiority, but about different roles and responsibilities. Both monarchs are highly respected and play important roles in Yoruba culture and tradition.
Copied from Ai Omoh Aseh.
it is a case of one kingdom with glory they laboured for and another with glory they didn't labour for. Ife claims to be the first but Oyo has won battles so earned their name unlike the inherited name. It is a question of should one boast in labour or in inheritance/grace?
In the world where people body shame other for not creating themselves properly enough or looking beautiful enough, Ife is bound to have sympathizers and reverence.
Oyo is my choice.

Everything is not down to Tinubu, though most are.
Subsistence farmers cant afford inputs again. This year watermelon and groundnut glut is almost nonexistent. Heat is doing her own.
Tinubu can do a lot but a lot has happened outside of his influence.

The distractions have been streaming out lately. Anthem, Rumours of waivers, Tax exemptions, and now LGA autonomy.
All coinciding with fertilizers distribution. It correlates with Makinde's idea here but the governors acted as if the hunger was solely the doing of the FG.
