Economic Jihad has been on since the civil war was declared closed. If you are the north and you just just crushed a southern secession resistance, can you move all the oil in ND across the country at once as part of your victory loot? You need a new structure to slowly transfer this humongous resource and that's what Nigeria is. |

yaki84:That name(GEJ) is unique. The surge in crude prices under him was more than enough to build 10 mega refineries like Lekki own. He was busy building small structures to impress and secure his own political future. Now see where we are. Only God knows when his people will be back in Aso Rock again if they ever make it. |

Racoon:If subsidy is removed and crude oil products are priced freely by market forces, the citizens end up groaning. The most reasonable solution is to cut out unnecessary middlemen adding their own cut to the final prices in a free market situation by building or maintaining efficient refineries. 6 Likes |

Politics / Re: Nigeria To Spend N103 Billion Monthly On Petrol Subsidy by Standing5(m): 1:52pm On Mar 19, 2021 |
Racoon:These questions aren't necessary. Changing crude price means changing subsidy. What I cannot comprehend is why govt cannot declare a state of emergency on the four underperforming refineries under them or build a new one that will be profitable. 7 Likes |

In 36 months that can effectively build a refinery like the mega one in Lekki and correct a lot of economic errors in Nigeria. No leader wants to do the reasonable thing(GEJ inclusive). 22 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: Gold Deposit Discovered In Ibadan, But Illegally & Secretly Mined By Fulani by Standing5(m): 8:43am On Mar 19, 2021 |
Bad losers are plenty on this forum. Political partnership between some western politician and northern politicians is now a slave-master relationship. If PDP had gone in, it would have been a slave-master relationship between the east and north I guess. A region that give approximately half their votes to the two major parties is a balanced one unlike the one that gives 95% to one. The latter sounds more like the one in a slave and master relationship. 5 Likes |
