Peter Obi's legacy.

I see Nigeria becoming the best country in the world when Peter Obi wins. In fact if Peter Obi wins every Nigerian would automatically make Heaven, I see fuel, diesel, kerosene, gas and engine oil falling down to their old prices, I see bandits, IPOB, Boko Haram disappearing mysteriously, I see world bank and China forgiving us our debt like in the days of Obsanjo.

I see Nigeria becoming great again.

This I have seen.

It is the duty of every citizen to pay his tax, not only that, it is the law. Taxes is how government generate revenues to provide services.
Why are you you making it look like it is something strange or unusual?
I said increased and not input. Read between lines
Politics › Re: Peter Obi's Interview With Adeola Fayehun (Video) by Stanislause94: 4:32pm On Aug 30, 2022
ElSudani:
He didn't increase tax, he got tax evaders to pay and there are many of them. Paying your tax is normal in developed countries, you cannot avoid it. This is what Lagos did, and I think they do more because Nigerians generally don't like to pay taxes.
Obi failed in Anambra, the economy of Anambra is still the way it was when Obi was governor, no improvement.
he increased tax, ask any government worker that has been there before he emerged as governor

so lagosians didn’t complain of Tinubu?

GeneralDae:
Tax is necessary. It shouldn't necessarily be increased but be expanded to cover everyone. Then let everyone pay based on what they earn or what their trade is. Obi should have formalized Onitsha market that way to increase the IGR.
Government should be about the masses and not about the people in government. All the money being generated from what Tinubu created what has been done with it? Why is Lagos ranked the second worst liveable city in the world? Life in Lagos is something else. He created this and that only to loot, go to Anambra and talk about Peter Obi and see how even the common man will heap praises on him, will the same be said of Tinubu in Lagos? Good governance is meant to benefit the common man, how has Tinubu done that in Lagos?
And let me remind that Peter Obi achieved all that with an Igr that can’t be compared to that of Lagos.
You’re talking about the work of local government chairman, the ones that loot the money meant for development, local government has only increased looting in Nigeria and nothing else
Politics › Re: Peter Obi's Interview With Adeola Fayehun (Video) by Stanislause94: 1:50pm On Aug 30, 2022
GeneralDae:
Are you really asking me how investment in power for Lagos state is a notable achievement? Or how the great wall of Lagos benefitted Victoria Island? Or how the Lekki free trade zone is a blessing to Lagos and Nigerian economy? Really?
Some of the things you listed as a achievements of Obi are great while many are stuff Local Government chairmen should be boasting about not a Governor.

Tinubu also handed something to Fashola to start with, but beyond just saving money, the IGR of Lagos went from 600 million naira monthly to 7 Billion monthly as at 2007.

The IGR of Anambra did not increase significantly under Obi and even Ngige and Obiano improved the IGR more significantly than Obi. Saving money without improving IGR is dead economics in my opinion.
the IGR he improved by increasing tax? Ask civil servants in Lagos how much of their salary is being deducted as tax.
Obiano increased tax rate of government workers hence the increase in IGR.

GeneralDae:
None of these candidates are my favourite. My choice (until may) was Osinbanjo, but I think Tinubu is more competent than Obi or Atiku.

Tinubu was first Governor in the 4th republic to bring in investments into the power sector of Lagos state to make it independent of the national grid. Obasanjo simply used the law of the exclusive list against him to feed into the national grid.

Tinubu created many local Governments to help oversee their districts as enshrined in the constitution. Not many Governors were interested in the idea of local Governments including Obi.

Tunubu created many organisations still active in Lagos state today. LASTMA and the likes.

Tinubu was faced with the problem of having Victoria Island submerged by the sea. He invited experts from Denmark to begin feasibility studies and now we have the great wall of Lagos.

Tinubu in 2004 went to China to share his vision of a free trade zone in Lekki and the renaissance of what is now Lekki was born under him.

The roadmap and programs of present day Lagos including the rails and BRT buses were drawn in Tinubu's Government.
how has all these things you listed improved our economy? How has it benefited the common lagosian?
*MR. PETER OBI SUCCESSES IN ANAMBRA STATE AS A GOVERNOR*
The list below are the records of Mr. Peter Obi stewardship to the good people of Anambra when he was their Governor and not the one his predecessor or successor achieved. This revolution tremendously boost the performance of students, as the state went from 26th position out of the 36 states in the federation to 1st position in the federation.

22. He patronized home built vehicles by buying over 20,000 vehicles from Innoson which he gave to schools, traditional rulers and vigilante groups in the state.
23. He built Nigeria Stock Exchange building in Onitsha.
24. He also created the Industrial Parks to act as catalyst for Industrialization.
25. He constructed and commissioned the governor's lounge at Annex Onitsha, FMR Customary Court of Appeal building, High Court Complex at Nnewi and Ogidi, judges quarters at Onitsha.
26. Built Dunukofia Local Government Secretariat.
27. Distributed 1.2B credit facility to farmers in the state and also cleared 20M debt owed banks by Anambra farmers as a result of 2012 flood devastation.
28. Purchase 90 to 185 vehicles (buses and taxes) in two years for Anambra transportation.
29. Adopted the best practice in waste management disposal by providing over 300B worth of Waste Evacuation Trucks.
30. In 2015 Anambra was adjudged as the least indebted state in the federation by Debt Management Office. This was due to his judicious use of resources coming to the state and not put burden on the unborn Anambra people.
31. The only governor that planned for rainy day. He was able to save and handed over 75B to his successor. The only man that saw that there would be cash crutch in the future and planned for it.
32. The frugality, competence and credibility of Mr. Peter Obi cannot be overemphasized because he lives by what he preaches. Why other governors made EFCC or ICPC their home after tenure, he has been working around with his head held high. No single history of court case on graft or otherwise.

Dsalvo:
Obi has no appreciable leadership track record. That is the reality his blind fans fail to accept.

For me, the quality most needed in a Nigerian President is authoritative bravery and unwavering political will.

No President in the world, even those of tiny nations, lack expert sound advice.

The problem is the will to implement those sound advice and ideas.

That notion then becomes more important in Nigeria where so many powerfully entrenched monsters and forces exist capable of waging war openly against any beneficial idea and policies that favors the masses yet works against their own private interest.

In this regard, Obi is the worst of all those running to include Sowore. Obi is a coward. A serial and proven coward. The very opposite of a leader because no leader should be a coward

We even saw his latest act of cowardice when he fled PDP literally days after boasting he is prepared to win the Party's primaries.

He will be a disaster at this very challenging stage in the history of Nigeria.

That is the reality you Obi fans do not want to accept. No one who loves Nigeria and want the best for her will entertain Obi as the replacement for Buhari.

In the army, they shoot deserters for cowardice in periods of war. This is because a cowardly deserter let the team down and expose others to danger to ultimately result in an army losing the war.

Obi is the peacetime equivalent of a wartime army deserter and a coward for any Nigerian who understands that the President of Nigeria is not needed to be a rocket scientist as much as he is required to be a brave and resolute warrior ready to battle powerful evil forces, and overcome them, to the glory of the masses.

It is pathetic how Obi fled rather than face Atiku, Tambuwal, Wike etal. He is not a child and would be aware he stands the best chance of transforming Nigeria under the PDP that would give him appreciable gubernatorial and legislative support he can use to quickly and instantly make decisions for Nigeria.

Yet the coward fled to structureless Labour. No doubt same way he will run to hide when our powerful enemies of progress start fighting him.

NB: his achievements during his tenure and not developments in Lagos after his tenure.

You think they are few. They alone with their friends and associates have already dropped 25%. That's why any sitting governor can drop 25% for a start even without doing much. Now widen the scope and know as it stands, Obi is already losing. This is the structure
it’ll gladden you to know that they’ll be massive voters turnout next year compared to other years, the world is changing, stop being backward and archaic, next year will shock many don’t underestimate Obi because he’s a revolutionary movement.

wow
I sincerely appreciate your contribution

in summary the course is equally as important as the university

but may I ask..

what would you rather advice someone to choose..because the reality is every one can not studying the most respected courses same way everyone can not study in the most respected school like UNILAG and UI.. I have seen this as the reality from previous jamb student who got fustrated over the fact that they want to study in UI or UNILAG but ended up in polythenics

may I ask.. which of these options do you think is better

going to UNILAG to study let say Physics education or any low course that was given to me after applying elect elect
OR
going to an average university like Nasarawa state university or kaduna state university to study medicine or elect elect..

to shorten it ..is it course over school or school over course

because the reality is ...for my self trying to get into top schools to studying top courses will be nearly impossible as I might not meet up with the strict requirements..I am being realistic.
it’s course over school

You know nothing boss. The governor has friends. They have families and friends too. He has commissioners, special advisers, LGA chairmen, Councillors, their friends and families, even their well wishers, neighbors etc. This is the structure they're talking about. People tend to vote in alliance with where would benefit them. I have a friend who voted for oyetola not because he like him but because his mom is benefitting from his govt through chains and links. This is how Nigerians vote.
the very few people can’t overshadow the masses.
