blink182: Good question, maybe he is not even there yet and is trying to impress his 'to be' master
The question is irrelevant and has nothing to do with the post. Am a curious citizen and wants to why there are lots of praises to the governor as compared to what is on the ground. I travelled to my community last month and only to be discovered that the present administration has lost focuse of governance. I asked questions and people told me that the governor is only deceiving the illitrates who have no idea of what governance is all about. There is no good access road to my community, dilapilated public schools, Local govt funds have been syphoned, All the youths given jobs by the previous administartion are now roaring around the streets and in their various villages stranded. There is high level of insecurity and kidnapping, Owerri has become a no go area, destroying some of the pave works around egbu road and repainting them. Wake up and face reality on ground and stop making some bias comments ok!

Sky Blue: And how many of those did he implement? The audacity to bring that name up when the task of governance is being discussed. If you want to judge Okorocha on his own merits then do so.
He is better advised than being deceived. The way some people are praising him is deceiving because he has not started and should be made to understand that.

1025: oga, if rochas is not good as the gov of imo state, who is? apart from Mbakwe, who else are u comparing with rochas in what the ppl see in the state?
Why do you have to compare him with Mbakwe and what has he done to be the next performed governor after Mbakwe?
We have not seen anything done by this present administration that has added economic value to the ordinary citizen of imo state. He has not done anything better than the previous administrations of Udenwa and Ohakim. Name them and tell me how he has added value to the imolites. Ignorant people are shouting and praise singing the man for no just cause.
To be honest with you, Rochas has no idea of what governance and administration is all about.

If there is anything this present administration has contributed for the well being of ordinary imo citizen and in beautification of Owerri is still in doubt. Most people are disillusioned and should ask appropriate questions.
Let me educate some of you more on the present administration and its pranks;.
First of all, the free education policy which most of you are ignorant about and which has been perceived by the ignorants as an achievement by the present administration has been in existence through UBE policy of 2004 which mandated every citizen of the country compulsory education from primary school to Junior Secondary school. The way Rochas and his administration is clamouring on free education thing as if imo people are the educated disadvantaged state. The facts are there and you should make appropriate findings on UBE e...ducation Policy, 2002.
Secondly, The so called free education lacks teachers which makes it unproductive and less efficient. How many people are in these schools and what is the quality of teachers? As am talking to you now Mbaise secondary school which is my alma mater lacks the basic science teachers from SS1 to SS3 and the Old boys Abuja branch is now paying auxillary science teachers to handle science subjects. Here comes an administration which ordinary should have continued some good policy of the last administration if for nothing, on job creation which recruited a lot of young graduates into teaching areas and civil service jobs bastardised the policy due to clueless and hatred by some mischevious elements who saw nothing good from the previous administration. For your information, Since the exist of Mbakwe`s administration, no other government starting from the military till Udenwa era has conducted an open recruitment into the civil service jobs other than the one done by gov. Ohakim. Yes there were some manipulations in the job process agreed, but the conception was perfect. It was 70 to 80 % transparent. This guy consulted the best human resource consulting firm in the country KPMG for the aptitude test which produced a good level of transparency in the result, any one who participated in that exercise can attest to this. People who either in one way or the other were not favoured accused it of being political and extortion. Every good policy either political or otherwise is for the betterment of the citizens which Gov. Ohakim did through the 10000 job placement., the highest empowerment so far since the creation of Imo State. People say there were no openings for such number of people to be recruited, but for the avoidance of doubt, take a statistical record starting from your village, all those old set of teachers/ civil servants have either retired or about to retire, and yet no body is replacing them. How will the economy functions and who will replace them?
Rochas said there is no money to pay 10,000 jobs, yet he is promising to pay more than 20,000 imo state undergraduates #100,000 yearly and make university education free. Who is deceiving who?
Some people ask this question- Why did he give the job during the last end of his administration? I believe every rational human thinker should understand that every administration requires planning and policies which take up to 2 to 3 years to actualize. We all knew how Ohakim came to power 2007 and how he was confronted by the same set of people that brought him to power for over two years of his administration.
He beautify and made the state clean and green state, yet he was the worst governor ever had. He averted the deaths and theft which used to be caused by the Okada people, most of those okada people became richer and their lives were more secured through introduction of KEKE, and yet he was molested by the same keke operators. He conducted the worst Local government election, yet the present administration refused to swear a house member in because her candidate did not win.

To make my opinion, if Mr Rochas Okorocha thinks that administration is all about re roofing old house of assembly quaters, renovating and rebuilding Imo govt house, building of Ojukwu complex and making unnecessary and bogos promises in the name of free education to university level, promising to give every imo ungraduate student #100000, creating fourth tier of government thereby causing and creating community crises between the Ezes and town Union presidents, etc.. he still has a long jam ahead to clear.
Here is some one who in the first month of his administration told imolites during an open broadcast that he has mapped out #2.7billion, #1million for each local government for the renovation of Schools in Imo state. I am aware that my local govt has 12 wards and of which each ward should get atleast 8million for their schools. Up till now no single zink or block has been replaced from the so called renovation money and those schools remain shadows of themselves. There is no single access road to my entire community , abi una don remove my community from the Imo State map? Yet he is God`s sent.

@ Geomac, am not Ohakim`s agent, but let the truth be told, Ohakim had better ideas than Mr Rochas Okorocha, Can you tell me what Rochas has done in Imo State? He is such a noise maker and can only deceive the ignorants. All the elites in imo state are disappointed with the man and his antics because he talks for people to shout OWELLEEEE! We are still wating when he will give imo state undergraduates #100000 annually as he promised. Why did he stop sharing #100 for secondary and primary school students after the first month since he is father xmashuh

The parents of late Cynthia who died as a result of friend she met on facebook should stop projecting their daughter as a saint. She died as a result of her stupidity and unculturedness. A well trained girl ordinarily shouldnt have met a guy for the first time on a hotel talkless of passing a night with him which led to her death. She was just a classic prostitute and therefore should be blamed for her death. Is a very big lesson for our ladies/girls out there who are desperately looking for online love/ money.

Is quite unfortunate that GEJ is allowing this housa idiot called Sanusi to destabilize his administration. At a time Nigerians are thinking of strategies to strenghten security issues, he is busy thinking of ideas that will cause coax in the polity. #5000 bill has no positive economic effect, reducing #20,10and 5 bill to coins shows that the guy did not understand the economic implication and therefore should resign his job as a cbn governor with immediate effect. Coins are token money which costs of production are higher than their value, and what a heck is he trying to make naira valueless? He should be warned

That is suicidal. How many have you killed, are you Boko Haram in disguise ? cheesy

Alcohol test ? shocked Where are you ?

I didn't see the 4 walls of a driving school but I learnt on the streets, everything I had to know about driving.
Even with all the tests and rules, Americans have their own version of recklessness while driving, sometimes i fear them pass Danfo drivers sef especially the ones that text with one hand and hold coffee cups with the other while driving.

You can say whatever you feel like, Irrespective of how you get the training, the most important thing is that you got trained and passed the written and road test before you were issued a driving License in USA. I drove almost six years in Nigeria and never went for either written or road test to obtain my driving License. Even the so called new driving license which i got sometime in February before coming to United States was a means to defraud people by the FRSC and FIRS. I paid about #10000.00 thinking that it will wave me from writing test here in United States. I discovered that i just wasted the money for nothing because i had to go over the test procedure here even with my glorified new Nigeria driving license. USA only recognizes driving license from some western countries. I don`t know the state you are staying because i live in Florida.Nigeria has no data system that can dictate traffic offenders which will make people obey driving rules.
Car TalkRe: Nigeria’s Driver’s License Accepted In The USA by stannydon(m): 6:07am On Jul 17, 2012
AjanleKoko: That's a sweeping generalization. Are you not a Nigerian? How many people have you killed in the US till date? Or maybe you never learnt to drive before you left Nigeria, and therefore have nothing to comment about.

So a tout got you a phony license in Nigeria. Big deal.
Unfortunately, the license is accepted in several US states. So, there goes your generalization. undecided
@Ajanlekoko, I don`t want to exchange words with you because i know quite well that you are biased. In the first place, Where are the approved training/driving schools in Nigeria and who accredited them? Which website can you read about Nigerian driving rules? How do you dictate traffic offenders in Nigeria? How many people obey driving limits in Nigeria? What do you understand by parallel parking? How many places do you have traffic signals in Nigeria and if so, why are there always traffic JAM in major cities in Nigeria? You are telling me that somebody from Nigeria who has no idea about all these rules and simply because he has a driving license who he got without road test will badge into American roads and drive safely abi? I doubt if you have been to United States in the first place.
Car TalkRe: Nigeria’s Driver’s License Accepted In The USA by stannydon(m): 11:33pm On Jul 15, 2012
Stop deceiving yourself and the Public. Nigeria Driving license has no reason why it should be accepted in United States. I was in Nigeria some months ago, when i got to United States, I discovered that any Nigerian who is allowed to drive in United States will kill himself and a lot of people. In the first place, Nigerians don`t go proper driving school or online road rules. Somebody got me the so called new driving license in Nigeria in my absent. You have to learn the rules and regulations of driving in United States before you can drive here. Is pure on merit not on bribery like it is done in Nigeria. You have to pass the driving and alcohol test, and then the road test in any state in USA.

LocalChamp: FG to regulate conferment of chieftaincy
On May 7, 2012 · In News 12:39 amEmail0

By Caleb Ayansina

ABUJA – Federal Government, weekend, said it will soon roll out requirements for the award of chieftaincy titles by traditional rulers. It also unveiled the logo, Do it right – Transform Nigeria, with a view to instill honesty and integrity in Nigerians.

Director-General of National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mr. Mike Omeri, who disclosed this in Abuja, weekend, said there should be an honest way of conferring award on those that really deserved it to motivate people.

He said it was completely out of the way to honour people because of money rather than hard work.

Omeri, who stated this at a press conference on Do it right – Transform Nigeria campaign in Abuja, called for the adoption of the second stanza of the national anthem as national prayer in all public functions to promote common creed and the cause of a people united.

SCRAP THE TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS ESPECIALLY IN IGBO LAND AND RESTORE TOWN COUNCILS. TRADITIONAL RULERS HAVE MESSED UP THE SOCIETY, majority of them are causing crimes and hiding under the umbrella of HRH, they are the causes of Kidnapping in South Eastern Nigeria, causing troubles in their various communities. Most communities cannot move ahead or project any community development project again because of the power tussle b/w them and Town Union presidents.Communities cannot unite together again because of disputes b/w the Eze`s followers and those who do not believe or agree with the Eze Policies. They have no job and therefore should be abolished. The money that is being wasted in paying them should go directly in the community coffer for Community development. There should be a County Councils which each village should be represented and these people will be projecting the affairs of their various communities. There should be a centralized Community Hall where issues concerning the community should be addressed, headed by the county council President.Community matters should not be addressed in somebody`s house, Our forefathers never practiced the so called Eze thing and saw it as a kind of Slavery which the white people used to achieve their selfish indirect rule mission ,making ourselves second class citizens where the so called Royal families are first class citizens. Igbo has no king!!! We are direct descendants of God and therefore, we are kings in our various Families with OPara as the head. Our fore fathers knew all these things more than us today and That was why those days, you see every family having OVU(Palace)indicating the family`s authority as kings. Those days, traditions and Cultures were well respected, People were happy donating their lands and property for community projects, schools, markets, etc. There was peace and harmony, people lived happy then than US today. Ileke-IdI:
-Doing assignments/Research and thesis

I'm currently doing one tho, will not expand on that. I'm sure that we have many on higher level who can help with that.  smiley

-Getting a phone line and cheaper plan

So many phone line out there, most do not require contract so its a lot cheaper. Simple Mobile, T-mobile, Metro-PCS, etc. Most of them are around $50/month. I wouldnt suggest getting a "pay by the minute" phones. Lost my phone once, had to get one of those. Your money will disappear like no man's business o shocked

-Getting scholarships

Depends on the school. Each college and department also offers its own scholarships, the state offers their own scholarships too. Try WWW.FASTWEB.COM  many scholarships out there to grab.

Search through your school's engine.

-Owing a used car (if necessary), Getting a bus pass

EXPENSIVE!!!  And used cars comes with used car PROBLEMS. I suggest not. I've had personal experience. Try getting a bike, then maybe after 2 semesters, you can settle down into your school/program. Think about the car expenses, tag expense, registration expense, monthly car insurance expense etc.

Your school should offer you a student ID. That gets you on any city and campus bus for free. Well, may depend on the school. My school uses the RTS Bus program, which charges a standard bus pass amount on our tuition, allows us to ride any bus for free. Ask your school about that.

As a student, I wouldnt worry much about bus pass.

-Getting a licence

1. Go to your state's DMV (each city should have about 10 or more)
2. Ask for a DMV booklet
3. Study the book, study the questions
4. Make an appointment  for the written exam (not exactly written, multiple choice with both road signs and road rules questions)
5. After passing that exam, make another appointment for the driving exam.

The written exams are usually free. Well, the first ones are, additional tests are $5 each. Driving exams are also free (I think). Driver license are $47 in Florida, might be different in your state.

Hard for some, easy for others.

-Making the right friends.

Subjective. All depends on you and the kind of friends you have in mind. What I will say is that making connections is very important. What I see African students doing is settling down in an African organization, waste of precious time. Branch out. You dont know who you will meet in another organization. Go to social events (not just drinking and clubs o).
Go outside. Siddon somewhere. You dont know what you'll meet smiley I've met the craziest best set of people while just riding my bike or while making a decision at a grocery store. Talk to the next person beside you  grin

-Getting a job on campus/off campus

This will be hard because a lot of schools are cutting budget, less money less jobs.
Once again, this is why connection is very important.
Apply to anywhere, even the jobs you dont think you'll get.
Search through your school's database.
Do you like that starbucks coffee, look online if there's any job opening position. Do you hate your student government, go on their website and look for an opening. Do you appreciate free computers your school offers, look for job opening at the IT. Even if you assume you'll suck at a position, you get better as you work.

Yes o!!!!
Please brother, I`m also in Florida, I will like to get some details from you. My email address is stannydon@yahoo.com. please send me yours or your phone no. I`ll like to get some details from you.

ak47mann: Abia Govt Employs 4,500 Youths

UMUAHIA—ABIA State government has offered jobs to 4,500 youths under its programme on youth empowerment.

Governor Theodore Orji’s Chief Press Secretary, Ugochukwu Emezue, who disclosed this, explained that the number was exclusive of another 1,000 youths empowered by the state oil producing community commission, ASOPADEC.

According to Emezue, a good number of the 4,500 youths will be working in the state’s environmental agency as change agents to ensure that the state was kept clean.

He explained that they would help in ensuring that the people, especially Aba residents, disposed their refuse properly into designated bins to keep the state clean.

He said the governor in the past few months, had donated more than 20 refuse disposal trucks to ASEAPA, the state environmental sanitation agency, to ensure cleanliness of the state and that more of the trucks were sent to Aba.

He said: “ANESPA is doing well. The only thing is that Aba people, the kind of waste they generate is overwhelming and the irony of it is that rather than putting them in the designated dump sites they throw them into the gutters. We can only appeal to them.

“But the governor is planning to mobilize the 4,500 youths that will be given jobs soon to act as agents of change, and help to check the incessant environmental degradation, especially those who throw refuse into the drainages. They will help in the cleanliness of the state”.

This guy is a clawn. Theodre Orji is the worst thing that happened to Abia people. I`m not from Abia State but always passes through Abia State, I know the guy is a complete idiot. Sometimes i used to wonder how those kind of people managed to get into public sector talk less of being a governor. He`s just like someone who drinks palm wine first thing in the morning. He is a complete slowpoke. All these money he is stealing with his useless son will surely bring shame and disgrace to his entire generation. Governor my foot!

patrikobi: THE FACT THAT T.A ORJI HAS INITIATED MORE WORKFORCE THAT WILL HELP TACKLE ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION,HE HAS DONE SO WELL BY DOING SO...NOT WITHSTANDING I EXPECT MORE AND MORE OF THE CRITICS IN TANTRUM ,WITH THEIR HEAVY CENSURE WHICH THEY PULL TOGETHER IN AN ATTEMPT TO SMACK HIM DOWN...BUT I THINK HE IS NOT GOING TO LET THAT DISTRACT HIM FROM DOING MORE AND ENGAGING ON MORE IMPERATIVE.....AS FOR T.A I SAY,MORE GREASE TO YOUR ELBOW,I PRAY THAT GOD ALMIGHTY GIVE YOU MORE VISION,STRENGTH TO CARRY ON,PERSEVERANCE,MORE ENRICHED WISDOM TO DEVELOP FRUITFUL AND RESOURCEFUL INITIATIVE THAT WILL BENEFIT ABIANS....GOD BLESS ABIA STATE
You are one of most unreasonable sycophants he is using. Governor my foot!

patriot2: I think it is you who thinks the worse of GEJ only because he is not from your region and do not share your faith. But you know what ,: you better get used to it because your people will never rule in this country again.
Any society that does not guarantee the security of her citizens is leading to doom. Mr President, tell us the truth about those behind BOKO HARAM, Some of us are no longer seeing it as a religious war instead a masterminded effort to destabilize our economy so as to continue our economic exploit which you may be aware.
PhonesRe: Airtel, Etisalat ,MTN , GLO - The Best Network In Nigeria? by stannydon(m): 10:49pm On Apr 06, 2012
Glo is the best network in Naija, @ 15kobo per second to every network including the useless mtn nos, no contract.,2k per second to 5 Glo friends and almost free call to one special friend. if you enter glo infinito with someone oh my Glo, u will use #10, and talk like 50mins. I missed Glo network which i normally use in calling my friend. MTN is the worst unfortunately, they have the widest network and were the first to come to naija, dts why people are using them. they are very useless.
