So, I woke up this morning hearing chickens whirlings and when I opened the front door, I found about 8 chickens. When I looked around, I discovered there were hatched eggs just beside my front veranda.

Well, I just brought them together and left for work. Came back and my woman said the mother hen came and took only two. Now, I'm left with about 7 of them. Lol.

What can I feed them please. Can't let them die off.

Not at all. This is the best size of seed yam to plant. Your next harvest would be massive. Don't allow anybody tempt you to sell them ohhhhh. Just find a way to preserve them for next year

Your yam seedling was so small and what you harvested now is a very sweet seed yam for next year planting.

Next year your harvest go dey abundant trust me

It's the grass attached o. Up root and clear it, and it will be back in multiple folds. I have tried many herbicides, but this grass is resistant to them all. If you have successful killed it with chemicals in your farm or environ, please share the successful method.

Wait for dry season and see it die off.

OP, broiler production has always been more profitable than layer production, and if broiler producers are complaining, I am guessing layer producers are in trouble. The advantage of broiler production is that you can see whether you have succeeded or failed within two months. However, with layers, the likes of chief will use your head to play "kalokalo" for a whole year before you wake up from your slumber.

Here is my suggestions: Newbies....stay away from anything farming in Nigeria at the moment. Crops, fruits, trees, vegetables.....poultry, livestocks, piggery, etc. Stay away from them all. The economy is not favorable for a newbie to start anything. Leave the scene for experienced farmers who can navigate it. It is a complex situation we are all facing presently in Nigeria.

If you want to learn how to farm, do so for your own health rather than for a profit. If you go into it at this time, na you sabi.

If you let anyone use you to have a wonderful Christmas and New Year for his family, na you sabi.

I'm a first time maize farmer, and my maize farm is finally ready for Harvesting. Someone brought in some market women to harvest and buy today.

The rate at which this women purchased is so ridiculous that if I continue selling like this, I won't make what I spent on the project back, not to talk of profit.

It was actually painful because I didn't discuss price with them before they started harvesting, as I assumed the person who brought them already did the discussion, only for this women to come up with a ridiculous rate after harvesting. They claim there's now excess maize in the market.

Another buyer someone called for me offer even worse prices.

It appears they have a maize seller association, where they fix their buying prices.

I'm currently considering harvesting and taking to the market myself, because I'm sure I should be able to sell at X2 of their buying prices (their buying prices is currently between 40 - 55 Naira per Maize on Average, and I think I should be able to sell at 100 - 120 Naira per Maize at the market)

I can't leave the maize to dry because of the rate of rainfall we're currently experiencing.
