christinie: My stay in China is a big eye opener to me. I discovered that there is no facebook in China because their Government wants their youths to be productive.
In China you see 21 year old youths who are top business executives or big manufactures, whereas Naija boys and girls of same age are busy browsing their lives out and asking their parents for money to buy clothes/shoes/laptops/phones produced by their age mates in China.
Am not saying we shouldn't be on social networks. Am only saying don't make that the centre of your life. Instead of being on facebook/twitter/instagram 24/7 in the name of waiting for a big job, why don't you use whatever resources you have to start a business (no matter how small).
It's high time we Africans grew up. We can't be babies everyday.
My second discovery is that most of the goods sold in China are of good/high quality but some of our Naija business men/women ask the factory owners to reduce the goods quality for them for easier/quicker sale before shipping them to Nigeria.
I was also able to discover that Chinese schools are very good and quite affordable. Good enough they have introduced English Language in most of their schools so their young ones can learn.
China is a very organised society where everything infrastructure works and the people are very willing to develop/apply themselves. Nobody depends on rich parents/uncles/aunts/politicians. Everybody wants to make a name for him/herself.
It's high time we applied ourselves in order to be productive in our lives.
God bless Nigeria. plz are u stil in china,i nid 2 source 4 a textile plz |

mazeltov: Well, I didn't finish reading the write up but Op, it's high time we stopped comparing ourselves with advanced country. Facebook/twitter/2go/instagram and even nairaland are not the problems of Nigerian youths, we only lack creativity and the worst is, you can only be creative when the enviroment is enabling and secured. There is a wrong statement we use to make in this country ''don't think of what the government will do for you, think of what you will do for government'' . Please this very statement is lame, senseless, ineffective and cannot work in a third world country like Nigeria. How can you rightly think of what you will do for your country when government of that country doesn't provide basic ammenities, good infrastructure and a well protected enviroment for the citizens. We always hear the names of Nigerians doing great innovation and iventions in another country, why? The government of that country has created enabling enviroment for brains to work. Unlike Nigeria where you hardly eat 3 sq meal per day so tell me how you want to think wej döne and clap 4 urslf, sit down n let d govt fid u . Olodo like u. Lol ok. Diaris no nid to fyt me! losprince: It feels so good to have finally arrived at this point in my programming journey, i had been chronic procrastinator until my supervisor hit me with this project topic (hospital management system) and I decided to sit up and do this one myself. I have been coding but this is my first ever long term completed project. So I am going to post it as an open source to mark my foot print in the programming hierarchy. For anyone who is working on similar project, you can use this one as a reference.
1. this system includes a one time installation module... which would require server and database information-no big deal. 2. it includes an admin module that has the Carter Blanche to create and administer every other user of the system which includes, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, cashiers. 3. the nurse module gives the nurse the ability to admit a patient into the system and also update their information including readmitting. 4. the pharmacist can only add and modify the drugs in the hospital stock. 5. the doctor has a module to record and view a patients treatments and prescriptions and only the doctor can discharge a patient. 6. the cashier's module handles billing of discharged patients and updating their payment status.
this system was written in php and uses mysql as the database. I have to warn though that this system should only be executed on local machine, reason being that i ignored some security measures which makes this system vulnerable to attacks if its hosted online and i did this because i wanted to meet a deadline. But with subsequent updates this issues will be fixed.
Anyone using this software has no rights to sell.

lookingbuoy: I have a little problem and need some advice on it:
I've got a girl I like. We met at nysc and got along really good. Even today i still remember the first day i saw her. She studied psychology and even though I'm an engineer we could relate and talk a lot about her subject, as I read a lot and kinda have read much on psychology. After nysc we still kept in touch and continued to talk even though i never asked her out formally. Soon i got a job away from her. Our talking continued on phone.
While out of Nigeria on training, I met another lady. She's just as pretty as the other one, but has a great job and is a confident woman. The other girl is still searching for a job; and her psychology degree is no help. I have a great job myself and i earn seven digits in naira per month. The new girl also works with an oil form and earns very well. We have got along these past few months and I really have fun talking to her and hanging out.
I have always wanted an independent woman as a wife, a woman who can stand by herself and who has prospects for a huge career. I'm career-minded myself. But now, I'm really confused who to plan my life with and settle down with as a partner: this independent lady who I believe I like or the other unemployed lady who I seem to have a more relaxed, longer friendship with.
Note: I've not asked any of them out formally. Please help. u may just be a butterfly callin himself a bird... Bro go and ask both out 1st...u may just be a friend to both ladies |

samshoz: yes, its brooding already. I lost a hen 2 months ago while it was brooding, i still dnt know cause of death. I like that hen because it usually lays up to twelve eggs. But this layed abt 9. And i have been pondering wether or not to seperate hatched poult from hen, after reading your blogg, i decided am going to seperate them. ur hen laid upto 12,bkos u allowed d eggs to accumulate, mine lay upto 25 per hen,and i sell each fertile eggs for 100box.... |
