Late last year, Kenya Airforce transported 24 tonnes of dried food and medicines to an IDP camp in Cabo Delgado for residents who had been internally displaced by the ongoing insurgency, at the time the camp had about 300,000 people... I hear its clocking over 800,000 now.. The aid, aboard a Kenya Air Force Spartan aircraft, will assist approximately 300,000 people displaced in Mozambique's Cabo Delgado province following insurgence by jihadist that has tormented the region since October 2017. While handing over the donation in Pemba Bay, Cabo Delgado, Foreign Affairs CAS Hon Ababu-Terrah Namwamba presented a message of good will from His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta. The donation was received by Mozambique's Minister of State for Administration & Public Management, Ms Ana Comoane who thanked the Kenyan Government. "It is an honour for me to accept this generous donation of food and medical supplies sent by the government of Kenya. We thank the government of Kenya specially President Uhuru Kenyatta", she said.

Cutlass Express 21 will be happening at the coast of Mombasa in East Africa this year. https://www.c6f.navy.mil/Press-Room/News/News-Display/Article/2708804/the-multinational-maritime-exercise-cutlass-express-21-begins-in-mombasa/___________ . The exercise will improve Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA), information sharing between Maritime Operation Centers (MOCs), maritime interdiction, adherence to the rule of law, and counter-proliferation interdiction capabilities in order to strengthen safety and security in East Africa.
The exercise begins with an in-port training period followed by at-sea scenarios and concludes with a senior leadership symposium. The underway portion of the exercise tests the ship’s abilities to conduct maritime interdiction operations (MIO) by boarding teams against simulated suspect vessels, detecting illicit activity, and follow-on evidence collection procedures.
The valuable operational experience gained during Cutlass Express contributes to participating countries ability to suppress and counter illegal activities, including piracy, arms trafficking, human smuggling, drug trafficking, and illegal trade in wildlife.
CE 21 is one of three U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa/U.S. Sixth Fleet -facilitated regional exercises undertaken to provide African forces and international partners with collaborative opportunities on comprehensive maritime security concerns.
Exercises like Cutlass Express in East Africa/Western Indian Ocean, Obangame Express in the Gulf of Guinea, and Phoenix Express in the Mediterranean fall under the international collaborative maritime capacity-building program Africa Partnership Station (APS) as part of a phased approach to building enduring relationships and combined capacity to ensure the safety and security of the regional maritime environment. Participating nations in Cutlass Express 2021 include Comoros, Djibouti, Georgia, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, United Kingdom, and the United States. |

The NA on the other hand is still struggling to set up an equivalent unit-AFTER ALL THIS TIME!? Personally. I come here to celebrate African militaries, Whatever good there is, be it doctrine, equipment, battles, culture.. etc. but with the nature of humans, I can understand that sometimes we get competitive and we start comparing things and everyone ends up claiming or believing theirs is the best depending on who you ask.... which ends up in people throwing banter every now and then which is understandable. What I don't appreciate is someone throwing completely unwarranted insults like "unexposed Kenyan safari people who are armed with spare (did he mean spear?)" on a discussion that wasn't even about Kenya, WTF! |

Salatavor: Hehehehe battle field air dominance with super Tucano? We are trouble in this country.
You people here must think other nations joke with issues of security and defense... With what we have currently and our shameful show of weakness before an uncivilized and untrained gang of insurgents, any war between Nigeria and an African nation that knows its salt, will be fierce, short and decisive. Propaganda will not save us when we are faced with an enemy that understands our weaknesses.
Super Tucano Air dominance. Haba. You think you will be fighting with a tribe of unexposed Kenyan safari people who are armed with spare? The tucanos will be shot down by even the oldest cold war era air defense systems.
Nigeria is populous and we have crowd, but how mobile is that crowd how mechanized is our army. Can we move 2 divisions of the army from one place to the other without exposing our soft belly?
The Nigerian armed forces is weak, slow and too heavy to move itself. Leave Kenyans out of this discussion |

Did you know Somali legal system carries out mass public execution. With everyday life being difficult and with alshabaab delivering so much violence every other week and not to forget the violent history of the country. I would have imagined the government would do the opposite (at least publicly) inorder to counter the violence and appear to be 'the good guys' so to speak.

kabe1: Nigeria gets more scrutiny because we are an important country.
Whatever happens in Nigeria has the impact to reverberate across the world. This impact is harder if the effects occur in the southern part of Nigeria. AskiaHarem: If this softcore Civil War was happening in Nigeria with hundreds of civilians & soldiers dying/captured a day the Global media would be having a field day. "Nigeria breaking" "Country Collapsed/Failed" "worst military in Africa" "worst country in Africa". It would be never ending. But it's Ethiopia so it's being surprisingly downplayed in global media and Ethiopia despite this conflict with hundreds dying a day and remaing one of the least developed countries in Africa is still for some reason being touted "THE LIGHT OF HOPE IN AFRICA" "AFRICA'S FIRST SUPER POWER IN THE MAKING"!
Seriously the God Bless these unfortunate Souls. The reason you don't hear much about Ethiopia is because there is one telcoms company in Ethiopia and it's gov owned, the presence of independent private media is non existent and also activists have largley been ' delt with' . In short, Ethiopia has been able to implement a total media shutdown in the area of conflict. So there is very little infomartion coming out. And as a result int'l media cannot write reports that they can't provide reliable sources or proof. |

Tinfoil: Your right, I just don't understand why Kenya makes it's defense purchases secret. There is no reason for a small country like it to do so. It's biggest security challenges are internal, there is zero risk of an external nation aggressor 90% of the so called "classified" information doesn't actually risk anyone's safety. Open and transparent tendering process is the way to go. It even leads to better equipment because of the competitive nature of open tendering with various manufactures trying to outbid each other inorder to get the contract. |

Sebastine1994: My girlfriend has a lot of shame about physical intimacy. I think she enjoys it, but she feels guilty afterward that we’re not married, like she is betraying her very conservative upbringing. I love her and we have talked about getting married. She thinks that will make physical intimacy more enjoyable for her. But I’m not sure. The idea of spending my life with someone who is unhappy after every time we are intimate makes me feel hopeless. Make her understand that God created LOVE and love knows no boundaries, it's the most wonderful thing and loving someone who was created in the Image of God Himself is akin to loving God HIMSELF. Therefore the act of love making (When two couple are in love with each other and have the best intentions for each other) cannot be wrong under any circumstance. There is a big difference between having meaningless sex cause you are h0rny and you just need to put your d!ck into a hole and making love cause..well you love each other. |

plaindealer: You are wrong, especially if as you just asserted that twitter-based their decision on being more democratic which is BS, I already posted articles by the US government and media practitioners in Ghana stating the opposite.
Twitter can dance around and offer whatever narratives suit twitter, but the facts on the ground remain the same and in some cases worse than Nigeria.
Twitter knowing for a fact that more powerful TECH giants and conglomerates like Google, Facebook, and Microsoft are already established in Nigeria with a huge headstart and presence so they settled for Gnana to aoid facing and competing with Google, Facebook, and Microsoft.
Of what relevance is Twitter renting office space in Ghana to Nigeria? Of what relevance? We remain the BIG TECH GIANT in the whole of Africa.
Go and read Twitter's double talk press release.
Twitter is renting an office in Ghana and hiring 11 small people to work from home and their main objective is Nigeria and the Nigerian marketplace.
Whatever Twitter is doing in Ghana means economic/GDP boost in Nigeria and further solidification of our leade and dominance.
Ghana is not even anywhere near us or even 20 spaces near us when it comes to TECH.
Our TECH space in Nigeria is already saturated with the major players, our TECH companies collected 17% of TECH funding in the whole of Africa.
3 out of the 4 Unicon startups in Africa are here in Nigeria, not in SA, not in Kenya and definitely not in Ghana, but here in Nigeria so what is Twitter renting an office in Ghana going to do to us?
Let's get real abeg.. And I can bet there are 1000 more articles from the same US practitioners condemning NIgeria for undemocratic practices. So just because Ghana isn't 100% doesn't mean they are not more democratic than Nigeria... And BTW Twiiter's market is a niche of its own, Those that use Twitter use it for a different function than Facebook or Instagram (Its not like Telegram VS Whatsapp who provide the same functionality) ... So twitter is not in competition with them... And for Microsoft and Google, these are enablers of twitter so these companies are not in competition with twitter. Infact, Google and Microsoft probably want you to use Twitter cause they know you have to go through them to get to Twitter. Whether you like it or not, Ghana is one of if not the most democratic country in Africa, And twitter said this was their main reason for setting up their African base there, Now you can go on and on about Nigeria being a Tech giant, and yes, Even twitter says it will be targeting Nigeria for that reason, but there is a big difference between Setting up your physical HQ and targeting a market which brings the most profits through online/virtual means. Twitter could still target the Nigerian market from the US , they don't need to be in Nigeria for that.... But for twitter to make a long time investment in physical presence, they need stable electricity, High speed internet, Political stability, Ease of starting a business , Investor friendly laws.... Things that Ghana far outpaces Nigeria. Don't think the Nigerian government was not mad with Twitter over the #EndSARS global campaign, Infact, it is said the Nigerian government was successful in pressuring Facebook and Instagram to suppress the hashtags but on twitter, the hashtag ran wild. So while Twitter loves the Nigerian fans, they are not ready to have the government of the day try to muzzle them everytime some hashtag doesn't please the government. So they chose a country that doesn't make much noise with things like these. |

plaindealer: In 1 single month, TECH investors rushed the Nigerian TECH sector with an unprecedented about of investment money that it beats the whole of TECH investment in the whole 2020
Come back and re-post your Ghana cries when small Ghana reaches that big boy level.
God Bless Nigeria.
The real tech competition in Africa is mainly among SA, Egypt, Kenya and Nigeria. So if twitter was looking for what you are saying they would have chosen among these countries but they didn't. Twitter has even explained why they picked ghana, its bcoz its more democratic. its that simple. Twitter is not like facebook or insta..etc... Through twitter officers, ministers, presidents, entire governments have been brought down ... So twitter wanted to pick a country where they are sure the govt wont want to silence them once ppl start turning on their ownn govt through hashtags |

MOGADISHU, Somalia - The Somali National Army (SNA) said Monday its elite forces (Danab) killed 25 al-Shabab militants and injured several others during an operation at Gambole about 48 km to Jowhar town, the administrative capital of Hirshabelle State. Hassan Mohamed Osman, acting commander of Danab said the troops will intensify sting operations in the area to flush out the extremists blamed for insecurity in the region. Osman told SNA Radio that the forces carried out the operation after getting intelligence reports about the presence of the militants in the Gambole area who were planning to carry out terror activities in the area. Al-Shabab militants did not comment on the latest military onslaught on its fighters made by the Somali commandos so far, but the operation comes as allied forces have vowed to carry out joint security patrols ahead of the holy month of Ramadan which begins on Tuesday. https://www.garoweonline.com/en/news/somalia/at-least-25-killed-militants-in-anti-al-shabaab-operation-in-somalia |
