Beaf lost his objectivity a long long time ago. He is like a few (thankfully, they are indeed very few!) people I know, for whom, if it is Jona, then it must be right. Arrrgh! You mean GEJ is not capable of making mistakes, seriously?? Well, I got news for you all, this time around, he has really bungled it and we're out to get him bacl to his senses. |
Ngozi Iweala U can resign ur post if you want. Nigerians won't miss u. I wondered seriously at Nigeria being the VERY FIRST African country visited by IMF boss Christiane Lagarde, and at the stammering of Ngozi when she tried to deny that IMF tries to force its agenda on Naija. Now it's all getting so clear. Well! I pity Jona cos this time around he has truly bitten off far more than he can chew. he will bend his head in shame and swallow his words as he retracts this unpopular and anti-people policy. No amount of intimidation by the Police will deter Nigerians from reclaiming our country. Great Nigerians, peacefully fight for what is yours. Go ahead and shut down not only the economy but also the non-existent governance until this evil new year gift if retracted!!! GEJ: 1ST SHOELESS, THEN CLUELESS, NOW HEARTLESS, |
Well, All I can say is that if God forbidding, these protests eventually turn into sectarian clashes, Nigerians should blame it on GEJ! |
GEJ has betrayed the trust of the masses and the people are going to show him where the true power and sovereignty lies. Ha ha. the people of Nigeria have been pushed too far and will now lash back with coordinated fury and cold calculation. For all those (mostly southerners) who think they will save face or distract us by whipping up ethnic sentiments, asking questions like why didnt we protest against IBB, corruption, etc, all I have to tell you is that the battle at stake now far outweighs any ethnic coloration. the NLC President is a northerner, TUC is headed by a southerner. Most of those at the forefront of anti-Subsidy removal protests are southerners. We will all march through the streets of this Country until GEJ hides his head in shame and backs down from this ill-advised veture. whether it's Iweala or IMF or world bank's agenda is irrelevant. IT SIMPLY WILL NOT STAND!!! GEJ: Ist Shoeless, then clueless, then heartless!!! |
Ladies, Anything your husband does to keep the sanctity of the home is not paranoia, it's wisdom. Likewise guys, anything a wife does to keep you in check - including waking u up at night to "interrogate" you over some text messages on your phone, should be welcome. |
Just like other prominent Muslim leaders the world over. they simply bury their head in the sand whenever gruesome acts of terrorism are perpetrated by their members, always living either in denial or in sheer cover-up. God will expose them all. No serious statement of condemnation, no serious steps to curb, (thought you were the supreme leader of all muslims in Naija?) Well, I hear GEJ has invited him for talks in Aso Rock this morning, after which GEJ himself will make a statement (or address the nation). Let's see what happens,, |
GEJ has done very poorly in the area of security. Shameful. The mere fact that he is YET TO FIRE anyone, and I mean, ANYONE in his entire security apparatus clearly shows that he is very well pleased in them. He is satisfied with the level of competence that Ringim and co have exhibited, and that says a lot about his own competence!!! Anyway, things can't just continue like this in the coming year, else , |
Am really shocked at this slap-on-the-wrist sentencing. But what do U expect? From the moment they slapped the guy with lame charges such as criminal intimidation and sending of threatening text messages, I knew he was a long way away from a long sentence, life in jail or even the big one. Perhaps SSS didnt just get the right guy. This guy's value lies in the facts he can provide the investigation with. Let's see how the FG plays this one, |
NOBODY is going to give u the addresses or areas occupied by Igbos in Maiduguri. Or those occupied by Yorubas, Hausa/Fulani or any other ethnic group for that matter. The security situation in parts of the country today does not allow for such, no matter what kind of "project" you're into! Cheers, |
Ojukwu gone? Well, we all knew it would come to this one day. All the sae, so hard to take. I salute his courage and spirit. He did in his thirties, what many couldt do in a lifetime. I only hope that during his last days of sickness, he was able to make full Peace with God. Ojukwu! Ojukwu! Ojukwu!!! Ikemba, live on in our hearts! |
Interesting topic and discussions. But unfortunately, as usual I see people contributing largely based on what they've heard in Church and what they've heard from others, NOT from the Bible. Now according to scriptures, the tithe is to be strictly used for the following purposes: 1. The upkeep of the clergy - yes, a good portion of the tithes ought to end up "in the Pastor's pocket", like it or not. The old testament priesthood was a full time calling and they depended on the tithes and other special offerings for their upkeep. What U have these days is that most people are unhappy to think that the pastor is the beneficiary of the tithe, in fact, a lot of churches don't even allow the local Pastor to smell the tithe. Everything is shipped off to the headquarters and used for capital projects, that's not the OT Biblical pattern (Num 18:24-28) 2. The welfare of the less privileged. Duet. 14:28 - This happened every 3 years and was strictly for the less-privileged in your immediate neighbourhood - the Levite, the fatherless, the widow, etc - So for the OP asking whether U can assist someone with your tithe, it's not only allowed, it is in fact COMMANDED. 3. As a holy meal sacred unto the LORD, strictly to be eaten in His presence. (Deut 12:6-7) I could go and on about tithes and tithing. SO much of what we teach and learn in our churches today are simply myths, with no bearing from Scriptures. One thing we must note is that the much quoted scriptures in Malachi simply deal with the benefits of tithing and the negative impacts of not tithing, but NOT with what the tithe should be used for and to whom it should be given, how frequently, etc. We are the ones who have simply refused to sit down and study about tithing for our own spiritual good. Anyone who studies the details of tithing in the old testament law - The 5 books of Moses where reference is made to it, particularly in Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, will realise that just like anything else under the law, it is IMPOSSIBLE to fulfil 100%. You can only do tithing as a covenant between U and God, same way that Abraham tithed in Genesis before the Law. God bless, |
He is the father of both the Jews and the Arabs, but the Bible says he was originally from Syria, or a Syrian. |
Good idea. Most of the children of the rich get posted to the Oil companies and banks/telecom to "serve". Wonder who's deceiving who. When we served, we were told that the policy is that at least 70% of the corps members should serve as teachers in public schools. Why that is not being followed anylonger is anyone's guess. But then, thought this same policy some time ago but was not sustenable?? |
Well, in all I'd say not such a bad job. Missed the beginning part, tho. Was there any question on the spate of bombings? and all the arrested BH members? What's gonna be done abt them? |
Source? Not such a bad idea, anyway. No country waits until she's totally ok b4 reaching out to spread her influence across borders. My only stance is that whatever foreign assistance we're giving must come at a price - Support for Nigeria's permanent seat on the UN Security council, and lots more! |
Unfortunate that SLS would open his mouth to whine about his principal and fellow top govt officials to none other than a foreign female deplomat. What did he hope to gain? Paint himself as the only saint in the pack? Or perhaps he was carried away by Robin Sander's blackness? Thinking he was speaking to a "fellow black" sister? Shame, shame, shame. He should resign, for having put our national image to such ridicle! |
Anyone who is trying to tribalize this unfortunate incident is simply baloons. Check out the list of 18 most wanted Nigerians in the US. NOT ONE OF THEM IS IGBO!!! The earlier we start realising that crime knows no tribe, race or tongue, the better positioned we'll be to tackle it. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-138739.0.html |
Excellent move by the Israeli govt to court Nigerian support. Especially with the current Govt of Jona. I expect Nigeria will do well to block the unilateral Palestinian statehood quest at the UN next month. We need to place ourselves on the right side of history and God's people. |
I can attest to the veracity of the OP. I have personally read the full book by the former professor, from which the excerpts were taken. Great great. In fact, right now, if I could lay hands on it, would certainly share it with lots of muslim friends, especially guys. |
fraco:Fraco, am interested in the surulere property. what number can I reach you on? |
Well, economic situation is one thing, but a full grown adult is also responsible for his actions. I know someone personally who lost his life while trying to be a mule. they don't seem to know that even if they successfully make it to the country of destination, they could still die trying to excrete the drugs. Or be slaughtered if they cannot deliver it successfully. |
Must say I'm really downright ashamed of all those who cannot see a simple thread in Nairaland without turning it into tribal bashing. U know yourselves, no need to mention names here. Can't you simply understand that Nigeria is made up of great tribes and peoples? from the far north to the banks of the Atlantic in the creeks, over 250+ indegenous tribes and languages, many of which have made their mark in contributing to the greatness of Nigeria. Sure, we have our issues, (even growing by the day), but you guys that can't celebrate something good about another tribe are really the worst of our issues, believe me. What right do you have to rail at those behind the frequent blood-letting in the north, if with ur pc or phone you post worse things about your fellow African tribes. DON'T YOU GET IT The Yorubas CANNOT stop the Igbos progress, and vice versa. Argggggh. Please!! ![]() |
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SEUN!!! I have always held that one's birthday is one's true NEW YEAR'S DAY. An occasion to reflect on your life so far and make concrete plans for the coming days/years. And seriously, Seun, would like You to use this particular birthday to rethink on your relationship with God and accept Jesus as your Personal Lord and saviour. Cheers! |
The issue of abortion simply boils down to one basic question: At what point does life begin? At birth? Or at conception? If at birth, then abortion is simply no different from birth control, ie, U only prevented life from occuring. U didn't take away already existing life. But if at conception (which, by the way, is the correct answer), then abortion is simply what it is, murder. Stark murder!!! It's not really a religious issue here o, cos even if all the Churches were to condone abortion, (or gay marriages, for that matter), it still won't make it any less a sin that it is. Pls be guided. |
It's unfortunate that Sanusi thinks he could play on the intelligence of millions of smart Nigerians and Christians in particular. By deliberately hiding the fact that the major Igbo investor in Jaiz is a muslim, he wants us to think that Christians have also invested in the bank! Cos majority of Igbos are Christians.,, Shame on you, Sanusi Lamido! And thanks to Nairalanders, the truth is now clear. It's a muslim who invested in your bank and NOT an Igbo Christian. Igbo muslims are known to be fake muslims,, cos no true Igbo can be a moslem, The concern being shown by Nigerians is not that CBN is introducing Hausa banking, no! It's cos it's Islamic! |
Hey, guys, IMO this has very little to do with being a "great" man. It's a daily challenge facing millions if not billions of men every day, small and great. In other words, if you dont deal with this cankerworm as a small man and nip it in the bud, it would usually grow with you and end up being your undoing in the day of your greatness. The scripture already says, what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?/ My fellow men, hear me well: When you sleep with the prettiest lady on earth, you haven't even gained all women, talkless of the whole world. You've only gained one LovePeddler willing to bed down with you, SO WHY DO IT ![]() Remember, by means of a whorish woman, "a man is reduced to a piece of bread" |
How America pushed Jonathan to order Bankole's arrest-US diplomatic cableSource: http://www.peoplesdaily-online.com/news/national-news/14329-how-america-pushed-jonathan-to-order-bankoles-arrest-us-diplomatic-cable Guys, the FG just released a statement strongly denying the above story, but what's your take?? |
My oh my. This is the real breath of fresh air. Not empty political promises. Tell you what, guys? News like this reinforces my belief that it's only a few bad Nigerians that have tarred us all with a bad brush. Almost every month there's one story or the other about someone returning lost money, returning over-paid money, returning found wallets/purses, etc. And you still want me to believe that majority of Nigerians are corrupt? Lie! |
Good progam, excellent parade, nice speeches. But what I think I love most was the calisthenics display by those kids. My goodness, they couldn't have been more than 3-7 yr olds. God Bless Nigeria. |
The Yorubas CANNOT stop the Igbos progress, and vice versa.
