PoliticsRe: Almost 24 Hours And Not A Single Statement From The Fg by Starlett: 9:21pm On Jan 21, 2012
There has been a statement now, but I guess we are already getting so used to this, "we want to assure all Nigerians that this is an isolated incident. We are on top of the situation, and we want to assure all Nigerians to go about their lawful business as the security forces are working hard to ensure that the perpertrators of this dastardly act will be fished out and dealt with according to the law, "

Nigeria, Oh Nigeria, !
PoliticsRe: Fuel Subsidy Movie Now At Alaba by Starlett: 10:26pm On Jan 18, 2012
Ha ha.
Catching your fun, rite/

But is this not one the reasons that our public office holders take Nigerians for granted? They just figure that give Nigerians a couple of days and they'll simply be joking and even making money and comedy over whater evil you've just brought upon them.

Kai!
PoliticsRe: Did Government Underestimate The Nigerian Public? by Starlett: 9:34pm On Jan 14, 2012
Yeah, certainly, most certainly, the FGN underestimated the resolve of the people in this struggle.

They thought they could easily make it a Govt-Labour issue.

They didn't reckon with Occupy Nigeria

They thought they could apply divide and rule again as usual.

They failed woefully.

So even Sanusi supports FG shifting ground to some middle point.
He supports a phased approach.

Interesting,

PoliticsRe: Bakare Prophesies That Jonathan Will Die In Power If He Does Not Revert Fuel Pri by Starlett: 9:20pm On Jan 10, 2012
I hope Jona is not trying to crash this country. He once made a lot of noise about his ambition not being worth the blood of Nigerians.

Now look at what he has deliberately brought on Nigerians.

If he drops dead now, (which I pray against for the sake of peace), his people will simply start throwing bombs as well!
PoliticsRe: Why Nlc/tuc Should Change The Main Reason For Strike by Starlett: 10:01pm On Jan 09, 2012
By taking ur advice means that NLC would have gone into nego with govt against the wishes of the Nigerian people's wishes.

No way!

more people should learn from this warrior. the man is the people's fighter.
GEJ did not fight or even protest against boko haram's killing of innocent christians because he said they are unidentifiable. he openly said he does not know the haramists. so, who do you want the pastore to fight.
Well said. GEJ sound very impossible when in one breath he accuses BH of infiltrating his govt, and in the very next breath claims not to know them. So who should the Good bishop lead the protest against?
At least we know who released the bomb against the Nigerian masses on Jan 1!

PoliticsIs Gej's Political Ambition Now Worth The Drop Of Our Blood? by Starlett(op): 2:52pm On Jan 09, 2012
This man we call our president once repeatedly stressed that his political ambition to rule Nigeria is not worth the drop of any Nigerian's blood.

And we gave him our votes.

But what can be said today? Has he not proved that his dubious fuel subsidy removal policy is worth the blood of all the Nigerian masses?

Even, assuming that it was the most stupid thing on earth to oppose subsidy removal, going by the large crowd of Nigerians who are against it, shouldn't this man have a re-think as to the likely fatal consequence of such mass protests and rallies?

Fellow Nairalanders, what do we think? Is this yet another evidence of double-speaking? Were the Nigerian masses deceived all along, or is it that this man GEJ has truly changed?

PoliticsRe: How Subsidy Removal Protest Will End by Starlett: 8:55pm On Jan 08, 2012
Jeel,
Not so. I keep saying it that the Govt should even be grateful that there is an organized body like Labour to take the lead in organizing peaceful protests. Otherwise what you 'll simply have is anarchy!

Are we forgetting that this is the first time that Nigerians are pouring out into the streets to protest without waiting for Labour to lead the way.

Govt is in for a real shocker this time.
PoliticsRe: FG Reverts Fuel Price To 65 Naira Per Liter? by Starlett: 8:47pm On Jan 08, 2012
Untrue report.

Please disregard. have checked all the major new channels. Jona has stuck to his guns and therefore the strike is going ahead from midnite tonight.

The battle to regain Nigeria from our oppressors rages on!
PoliticsRe: Acn Governors Declare Position On Subsidy by Starlett: 8:37pm On Jan 08, 2012
In the final analysis, I'm not surprised that the SW govs took this kind of lukewarm stand. Despite the fact that ACN as a party is against the subsidy removal, the govs are too tempted by the huge billions about to be shared as usual from the subsidy funds to speak clearly. They're already envisioning the numerous Lekki toll gates they can construct with it.
shucks!!

PoliticsRe: Fuel Subsidy Removal: President Goodluck Jonathan's Speech by Starlett: 10:30pm On Jan 07, 2012
Shame on GEJ appologists like Beaf.
At least this shows that the govt knows that all the arguments of Labour and the Masses against Govt's wasteful spending and corruption are spot on!
Sorry, GEJ, THIS IS REALLY TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE.

If anything, this belated half-measure speech has only strengthened Labour and the masses to realize that GEJ and his goons are now jittery over the approaching zero hour for the start of the strikes.

Watch us, as we proceed to shut down the nation, !!
PoliticsRe: Delta State South South Nigeria Protest Against Fuel Subsidy Pictures by Starlett: 7:17am On Jan 07, 2012
You guys thought there won't be any protest in the South south?

Ha! One guy was nearly lynched in Bayelsa yesterday for supporting the subsidy removal policy at a newspaper stand.

CORRECT!!!
I get more and more impressed with Owei Lakemfa day by day. I salute the strong spirit and courage that Labour is showing in this revolution.

We shall come out tops in the end.

We the people of Nigeria will surely win!
PoliticsRe: NLC Cannot Embark On Strike-national Industrial Court by Starlett: 9:39pm On Jan 06, 2012
Reasons why the NLC/TUC Strike will STILL GO AHEAD despite the kangaroo NIC order:

1. It is a back-room last minute kangaroo order

2. The Labour unions have not (and WILL NOT) be served the court order!

3. This is a constitutional matter bordering on the right of Nigerians to protest. It's NOT merely an industrial matter.

4. The present administration has been notorious for ignoring court orders, most recent of which was the insistence of the GEJ-led PDP govt on conducting the Bayelsa Guber primaries despite a subsisting court order, and the removal of the PCA by same Jona even while the matter was subjudice. therefore Govt has no moral standing to even demand adherence to this so-called court order.

In the final analysis, I guess the govt should even be grateful that the NLC is giving Nigerians an avenue to vent their anger through strikes and well-organized peaceful protests. Else it will simply degenerate into pure anarchy, pure and simple!!!

PoliticsRe: Why Is CNN, BBC Not Reporting Nigerian Protests? by Starlett: 9:49pm On Jan 05, 2012

GEJ's attempt to block this from NTA coverage won't succeed with foreign media, I can assure you!
PoliticsRe: Hon Patrick On Fuel Subsidy Removal by Starlett: 6:04pm On Jan 05, 2012
Here are Patrick's words,

"I have read with acatalectic disgust, governments asinine and puerile ratiocinations attempting to justiceate the proposed removal of fuel subsidies from petroleum products. It has asseverated that it's intentions is guided by the need to checkmate the odoriferous excesses of a machiavellian and mephistophelean cabal and i have said to myself, what a shame? What a self indicting admittal ofthe failure of governance? What an hocus-pocus? What an anathematous disdain for its citizenry? Must the people now bear the brunts for governments ineptitude, inefficiency and pusillanimity in squaring up with these conomic philistines and fat cows? I feel even more nauseated and vexed that the Governors Forum has posthaste conferred an apocalyptic imprimatur on this genie. Let's not forget that majority of these same governors had earlier called for this state of affairs as a condition sinequanon for paying the minimum wage. What an opprobium? What a deprecable descent from the sublime to the ridiculous? It's up to us all to put the presidential and gubernatorial genie back into the bottle but are we prepared?

Men, I must say that I'm impressed with people like Patrick Oba and Dino Melaye who left the Nat Assembly and have firmly stood on the side of the people, the masses over time. Kudos to them.

GEJ! FIRST CLUELESS, THEN SHOELESS, NOW HEARTLESS!
PoliticsRe: Civil Society Calls For Iweala's Dismissal: Says Fg Lied About 1,600 Buses by Starlett: 5:57pm On Jan 05, 2012
But even if there were buses, so what?
Will any of the 1600 buses get to my village? Will any of them reduce the amount I have to spend on domestic fuelling of generators at home? WIll any of them reduce the cost of pure water which has now doubled?

This evil subsidy removal policy is not only ill-timed, its also ill-fated and will die a publicly televised and shameful death!
