Politics › Kogi Election: Prominent PDP Leaders Missing - PM News by Staro(op): 1:26pm On Nov 16, 2019 |
Richard Elesho Some prominent members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Mopa town, headquarter of MopAmuro Local Government Area of Kogi State are missing and are suspected to have been arrested. There is however popular allegation that about 20 members were arrested by the security agencies. Those affected include Dr. John Ayodele aka Delex, Hon. Jones Daniel, Hon. Olajuwon Michael (Neta) and Hon. Rotimi Ajayi (Rosco). They were said to have been arrested by men of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS in the wee hours of Friday. An eye witness who craved anonymity said the men were arrested from the house of Ayodele, a community leader and strong supporter the PDP candidate, Engr. Musa Wada. He explained that those arrested with Ayodele chose to stay in his house “because they considered the place safe.” PM News reports that a list of members of opposition parties which the police would arrest before the Saturday election has been in circulation. It is not clear where Ayodele and his co-travellers are being detained as at press time. Efforts to reach the police on the matter proved abortive https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2019/11/16/kogi-decides-prominent-pdp-leaders-in-mopamuro-lg-missing/amp/ |

Every Easterner voted against it. I mean everyone of your senator. That was the right thing to do. Even, most SW Senators too voted against it. I would have voted against it if I were a Senator. We have Kano, Calabar, Ibadan, Enugu, PH etc craving for development as well. |

"Ki ni e fe?" [What do you want?]or "Ki ni e fe ra?" [What do you want to buy?] is a VERY POLITE way of addressing customers in Yorubaland. It is NOT OFFENSIVE LIKE you both have indicated. Do not demonise Yoruba women traders with this misleading perception of yours.
How can you say that they should stop using the common Yoruba phrase?
You guys need to learn how to tolerate and accomodate others without suffering from skin-deep prejudice. It is possible that 1 or 2 women you approached in the past were having some stress or anger issues like most women do every month and so you formed that wrong impression that "Ki ni e fe?" is an "attacking question."
A few Ibo traders... especially the males have been rude in the past and even sold fake items to me way back in the 1990s, but that did not prevent me from still doing occassional purchases from genuine Ibo traders who were recommended to me by even Yorubas and a few Ibo friends of mine.
All the best! A Yoruba friend also explained to me that "ki ni efe" is a polite language but I guess it's the English translation (what do you want) that makes it sound rude. Imagine approaching a shop and the shop owner asking you "what do you want" For a non-Yoruba, this sounds confrontational and rude. I think "ki ni efe ra" (what do you want to buy) makes a whole lot of sense. |

Osaze007: Northern lawmakers supported it but all 15 se senators opposed it Infact Niger delta suggested a special status state in each region So, only the paltry 15 Senators from SE caused the bill not to fly, abi? See Oga, that bill was simply a tool to blackmail the then PDP govt. Its sponsors had other selfish political motives Have you ever asked yourself why the bill hasn't been reintroduced 5yrs since APC took over power? |

This OP is just a disgusting tribalist.
The Lagos special status bill was knocked out by the majority Northern law makers in the then NASS (not SE lawmakers).
But really, on what grounds are you giving a special status to Lagos? We have Kaduna, Ibadan, Calabar, Enugu, Port Harcourt all craving for development.
See Oga, that bill was simply a tool to blackmail the then PDP govt. Its sponsors knew from the beginning that it will not sail through.
Have you ever asked yourself why the bill hasn't been reintroduced 5yrs since APC took over power? |

garfield1: Both branches.no be only pdp sabi road to courts Is it that some of you are too daft to comprehend simple news articles? Oga, PDP did not take APC to court in Bayelsa. Heineken Lokpobiri, a founding member of APC and recent Buhari's minister did. In Rivers state it was Chibuike Amaechi fighting dirty with another APC big wig Magnus Abbey. In Zamfara it was former APC governor vs former APC Senator. In Imo it was APC's Okorocha vs APC Chairman Adams Oshiomole In Edo, it is APC Chairman Adams Oshiomole vs APC governor and vice chairman of APC governor's forum Godwin Obaseki |
