Episode 5
"Gosh,this is the life.." Rose said as she gulped down another glass of beer and placed back her cigar into her mouth. Her legs were on the table,and the cool,fresh air emanating from the AC, left her hungry for more enjoyment. She was about to place back the cigar in her mouth when her door suddenly flung open.
She quickly threw down the cigar and brought down her legs but her unexpected visitor had already seen enough.

Luis.

He furrowed his brows in anger walked towards Roses desk with clenched fists.

"Are you mad or something? Cant you knock!!!" Rose quickly fired, thinking she was being confronted by an average worker.

"Well,I didn't know I needed a pass from you to move around my own company" Luis frowned while crossing his arms, "And what exactly are you doing Miss Okoye?"

"None of your damned business" Rose quickly shot back, looking away.

Luis smirked and responded, "Well it will please you to know that it is my business because as the new Marketing Director of this company,you should be busy with work and not coming cigarettes"

Rose widened her eyes and turned to him, "Excuse me?"

"Oh you didn't know? Well let me clarify you. Since you have decided to occupy Daisy's office,you have also assumed her duties and functions. So from now henceforth,you are the Marketing Director of Royal Oil and Gas,got that?"

"You can't do that to me! I didn't sign up for that!!!" Rose fumed, quickly standing up.

"Your problem woman,here" Luis flung a bulky file which he held in his hand all along. "Those are some paperwork which I need to be taken care of before the day ends, understood"

"Are you bleeping kidding me,there's no way I can do this, I don't even have the training"

"Your time starts now miss..." He sneered before shutting the door behind him.

Rose screamed in fury as she threw down the pack of files on the floor and stormed out of the office. She quickly located Daisy's office and barged in, startling her in the process.

"Jeez Rose,do you always have to attack the poor door every time you have another fit?" Daisy asked, rolling her eyes.

"Gift,I need you to talk some sense into that boss of yours! He's driving me crazy!!''

"Who?"

"Luis or whatever he calls his danmed self! He's making me do your work!! I did not sign up for the position of a marketing director,did I?"

"What? Luis did that?"

"Actually Daisy,I forgot to inform you" Luis suddenly interrupted them, "Since your sister has decided to assume your office,she will also be assuming your work from today. Which means that you'd be replacing Tina as head of the auditing department and assume her duties as well"

"But Luis, isn't the change a bit too sudden, I've already started work on...."

"Daisy! Can you not question me? I'm the boss here, remember?"

Daisy sighed in defeat and shrugged, "Okay ooo"

"Good,and please tell your sister to get back to work,her time is ticking" Luis said before leaving them.

"Well?" Rose quickly turned to Daisy.

"Well?...." Daisy asked, raising a brow.

"Aren't you gonna do something?"

"Well what do you want me to do Rose? He's my boss now,I can't go against his orders"

"But...but this is so unfair!!! I can't sit behind a table doing annoying paperwork all day, I have a life you know!!"

"Oh common Rose,the job isn't that bad,just come to me anytime you have a problem okay,I'd be more than happy to help you" Daisy assured with a smile.

"Gooossshhhh!!!!!" Rose screamed before storming off again....

"This,is unbelievable" Uche said for the umpteenth time as he paced around the room, "I can't believe,that you would just sheepishly handover your office to that crazy sister of yours just like that. Tell me Daisy,is there something wrong with you?"he asked, hands on his waist.

"Look Uchenna,can you stop scolding me already? I'm not a fool okay,I know what I'm doing. And besides,this is my sister we're talking about,it's no big deal if I give her just a common office when there are many others here"

"Oh really" he scoffed, "so tell me then,what else are you gonna give her? Your job title? Your inheritance? Oh,no maybe you would also give her your husband and kid just like that all because you're trying to please her!!!"

"Enough Uchenna,can you just leave me alone for a sec,I need to think okay?" She flared, banging her hand on the desk.

"You're unbelievable!!!" He shot back before storming off. He banged the door behind him when he turned and saw Rose eavesdropping.

"Woops" she quickly turned to leave when he held her back.

"Tell me Rose,what game are you at,huh?"

"Excuse me,what are yapping about?"

"You're manipulating my wife that's what! You're taking advantage of the fact that she has a soft heart to make her your puppet,am I right?"

"Well no, you're not because Daisy is a mature woman who is smart enough to know when someone is really manipulating her or not! Maybe your wife doesn't love you as you think. Maybe she just loves me way too much,and would do anything to please me and no one can do anything about that okay?!!" She fired back, trying to match his height. They both stared at each other quietly for a while with Rose giving him a confident smirk. Finally,Uche spoke up,

"I will not let you get away with this Rose,you can count on that" he warned before storming off.

"I'll be waiting" she waved at him and burst into laughter.....

"And you. I thought I told you to take care of that woman personally? Tell me,what happened?"

"Well what could I have done,kill her? And besides,she just disappeared into thin air after a while,what could I have done?" Luis asked, feigning innocence,and his cousin quickly fell for it.

"Anyways,not to worry. I am going to deal with her on my own. There is absolutely no way that I am going to let a petty nuisance like her get in the way of my plans. This....is war"she said before giving an evil smirk.

"Look Rose,I don't think it's a good idea to get yourself involved in a war with Alexis. She's a really dangerous woman,you'll only regret ever challenging her" Daisy scolded as she crossed her arms.

"Regret my foot! Look Gift,I am not a coward like you okay? I face my battles head on without backing down what's the worst she can do anyways,kill me?"

Daisy sighed and shook her head at her sisters stubbornness. "Okay then,do whatever you wish. I just hope you don't ruin our family while you're at it. You're putting dad's health at risk you know"

"Excuse me,since when did you start worrying about me anyways? Last time I checked,I'm still not cool with you. You are still my number one enemy before Alexis,so don't you dare act like you care okay!! If you wanna help,you can just do your part of the deal and help me with this job,you got that?"

Daisy sighed and shrugged her shoulders, "No problem then. Let me just call Tony to show you to your office" she said as she picked up the telephone.

"Oh don't worry,I think I'm pretty cool here,I don't need another office" she said as she placed her feet on the desk.

"B...but this is my office"

"Oh really? Hm...I didn't know. Guess you'll have to look for another one now because I like it here"

"But that's unfair! Why would I do that?"

"Because technically,I'm the boss here remember? Or don't you want me to forgive you and accept you as my sister again?" Rose smirked as she walked to Daisy.

"I...I do" Daisy responded like a puppet being controlled by a cruel master.

"Good. Then you will do everything,and I mean EVERYTHING that I say,got that?"

She nodded her head.

"Good,you can leave now" she commanded and Daisy quietly walked out of the room and shut the door.

"Hm, you wish!!mttcchheww" Rose hissed and walked back to her seat.....

Episode 4
She looked round the building,as she waltzed in with Daisy and Susan behind her. As she walked, people threw different stares at her and murmured amongst themselves..

"Isn't that ogas second daughter?"
"What is she doing here?"
"I thought she was dead"

Were the questions that flew around the air as she approached Daisy's office. She heard most of them actually,but she would specially deal with the one who had the nerve to claim death for her. Not that she was going to be given a managerial position,but with the influence of her mom and sister,she would make sure she would be a terror to anyone who got in her way.

Her sister. The main root of her woes. She still couldn't believe that that once village rag,was the same person who now had authority over her. The same person she was now indebted too. She promised herself that that wouldn't last long though. Daisy would be dealt with later. For now,she needed her for her plans...

"Rose!!" They had approached the door to Daisy's office when someone suddenly called her name...

Alexis,her enemy number two.

"What a surprise! I wasn't expecting to see you so suddenly....and in one piece" she lowered her voice at the last statement,but still audible enough though.

"Oh really? Did you also think I was dead?"

"Not really, I was actually thinking with your present condition you would have suddenly gone mad or something,you know, someone who got disowned by her own father,jilted by her own boyfriend and now under the mercy of the same person who you thought you were better than. A common village girl....tell me Rose, isn't your present condition worse than death?" Alexis asked,with an evil smile on her face. Rose folded her fists. She felt like launching an attack but decided to hold herself back. There was plenty of time to deal with this witch,now that she was here. She unfolded her fists and released a smile of hers.

"Don't think you can get to me Alexis. As a matter of fact,you're the one in a pitiable condition here. Isn't it unfortunate, that despite all your so called wealth and exposure,you still choose to throw yourself at my dad like a cheap w**ore? You just don't want to accept the fact that he doesn't love you,and that no matter what you do,that will never EVER change!"

"How dare you!!!...." she made to slap her but Rose held it back.

"Don't even dream about that Alexis. In case you probably didn't know,I am not like my sister who prefers to be kicked around like a ball. I will fight you to the last breath if you want, and I will also make sure you regret ever meeting me!!"

"That's enough, both of you" George suddenly interrupted the banter,which was about to get messy.

"Listen Rose,if you came to this company to show us your brawling skills,I would advise you kindly back off. The last thing I want is having my company turned into a wrestling ring okay. And same goes for you too Alexis,you had better grow up"

"You're the one who needs to grow up here George. Did you get my permission before employing your deranged daughter into my company?"Alexis asked, pulling her hand away from Roses.

"Last time I checked Alexis,I am still a stake holder in this company. I do not need your permission before employing whom ever I want okay?"he asked, making sure he made his point.

Alexis turned to Rose again before looking at him for the last time and then storming off with Antonio trailing behind.

Rose heaved a sigh before she turned and met the heart melting eyes of Luis glaring at her with a smirk on his face. She raised a brow at him before he just chuckled and walked out. Her eyes followed his towering figure before she suddenly looked down, trying to place that face she was sure she had met somewhere before......

"No..never. i will never accept that girl back into our lives after all the damage she caused. She made her choice of she can stick with it for all i care!!" George spat as he sat on the couch furiously.

"Dad please. Rose seems really repentant. I mean,why else would she want to work in the company?" Daisy asked though she knew she was lying about the repentant part.

"Or maybe,she's up to no good again. Forget it Daisy,I can do anything for you but the last thing I will do is to accept Rose into my company or into our lives!!' he stamped.

"And why is that George?" Susan suddenly asked. She'd been eavesdropping on their conversation all this while,and when she couldn't take it anymore,she came out and spoke up.

"Why can't you accept her in your company?" She asked again, "because she isn't your daughter anymore? Because she made some mistakes wish you caused in the past?"

"Don't criticize me Susan. Your daughter made her choice. She left for two years without a word. Tell me,what sort of daughter does that?"

"And tell me what sort of father disowns his child because of another one? Tell me George. Did you remember she was human when you blatantly told her she wasn't your child anymore? Did you?!!'' she asked,tears welling up her eyes by now. George turned away from her soul piercing eyes.

"I had no choice. She was determined to hurt Daisy, even at a special moment in her life. What would you have me do,huh?"

"I would have expected you to act like a real father and treat your two children equally,that's what!!!"

"Guys please stop!!" Daisy suddenly barked when the argument was getting heated up. She turned to George with tears in her eyes.

"Dad please. I know im the reason you disowned Rose. And i know you are really mad at her. But keeping her away from the family will only make things worse. Dad,please. I need to make peace with my sister" she pleaded. George turned to her and saw the sincerity in her eyes. He turned to Susan again. Finally,he sighed.

"Fine. Do as you wish. But if she does anything to hurt you again,then my hands are off!" He decleared before he stomped out.

Daisy heaved a sigh of relief and hugged her mum tightly,"it's okay mum...." She said while cleaning her eyes.

"Thank you Daisy...thank you..."

Episode 3 contd
She arrived the restaurant some minutes past ten and now I was past Eleven,still no sign of her. She glanced at her watch again and sighed
"Maybe she was just playing me"she said as she picked up her bag and stood up. She kept some notes on the table and turned to leave when she saw the door fling open and a familiar figure walked in. She looked around and then their eyes met.

Rose had intentionally come late,just to piss her sister off. When she sighted her sister,it seems like all the memories of hatred came flooding in. She looked different now. She had gained more weight and her dark skin really shone. Everything on her smelt expensive and posh. She faked a smile and walked to her.

Rose had really changed. She looked like she had lost some weight. Her once glowing skin seemed to have faded away,and her eyes were really dull. Like someone who had seen the harsher side of life. Was this really her twin sister? Her former best friend?

"Hey sis" Rose said as she said down on the seat opposite her.

"Hi..Rose" she sadly replied as she slowly sat down.

"Boy,am i starved. Don't they have any food here?" She yelled looking around.

"You can order anything you want" Daisy replied,handling with her bag

Rose turned to her and smiled, "Isn't life ironic? Imagine. Ngozi,the poor and wretched village girl,is now the one treating me out. Unbelievable right?" She paused as she drew closer to her "Tell me,sister,how does it feel,living my life? Enjoying what is rightfully not yours. Tell me''

"Please Rose,can you not do this now? We just met each other after two years fir Godsake. Lets just pity ourselves...."

"Youre the pitiable one here im afraid. Because a tim will come when I will take back everything you ever took from me. But let's not go into that now. Right now,I need a favor from you,that is if you're willing to do it of course"

"I'll do anything to bring yiu back Rose"

She smirked,''if I told you to give me back my life,and go back to the garbage where you belong,would you do it?"she asked but she just looked away.

"Of course. I need you to help me get a job in dad's company. I'm made to understand that youre the of big wigs there?"

"Uhhh,sure. Did you bring your CV?"

"Oh please. You dont need my CV to ask something from him. After all,you are his favourite daughter"

"Youre wrong Rose,daddy loves you very much. Yet hes mad but he misses you and......"

"Are you going to help me or not?!!"

"I'll try..."Daisy looked down in defeat.

"Great. Good to know you're useful for once" she stood up and picked up her bag,"give me a call when you youve succeded. Goodbye"

She made to leave but Daisy held her back, "Please Rose. Cant you just forgiven me already?" She asked with pleading in her eyes. Rose looked at her and shook her head

"Unless you give me back everything you stole from me and get out of our lives..." She yanked her arm away"i will NEVER forgive you" she hissed before storming off.

Daisy dropped her hanging hand and didn't realize what the tears began flowing.....

Episode 3
"....but mum,you promised we'd go out today..." Little Victor whinned as he held his mothers hand. Daisy squatted and held his cheeks, "I know love,but mummy has somewhere very important to go to today. Dont worry,next week,i promise to take you out,okay?"

"That's what you always say...." He mumbled as he succumbed to defeat"

Daisy smiled at her 3year old bundle of joy. For his age,he was already pretty smart. He had his father's fair skin but his mothers eyes. He was one of the best things that ever happened to her after Uchenna.

She kissed him on the forehead and stood up. She turned and met Uchennas worried gaze.

"Dont tell me you're still worried about me going to see my sister?" She rolled her eyes.

"Im just being human. And I still think this isn't a good idea. What if its a trap? Why did she ask you to come alone? What if....." He was interrupted with a deep but comforting kiss from his wife. He grabbed her waist and drew her closer to him

"Ewwwwww,mom" Victor closed his eyes and the lovebirds separated immediately when they remembered their sons presence. They burst into laughter.

"Look honey,I promise I'll be fine okay? Stop worrying" she looked into Uchennas deep eyes. Finally,he sighed in defeat, "fine...but be careful okay?"

"I will" she pecked him and waved Victor goodbye before walking out.

Finally,Daisy had succeeded in winning the heads of the investors. Although Alexis almost ruined things for her,things went to her favor and she secured a win

"Well done Daisy,i am so proud of you"George spoke to his daughter on the other end of the line.

"Thanks Dad,i couldn't have done it without your encouragement"

"Its alright. I'll leave you to get some rest now. Goodnight my dear"

"Goodnight Daddy" she smiled as the call ended. She removed her phone from her ear and saw a message from an unknown number. Curiously,she clicked it and it read,

"IF YOU REALLY WANT TO MAKE PEACE BETWEEN US,THEN MEET ME AT THE YOLANDA RESTAURANT TOMORROW BY 10:00AM. AND COME ALONE
-ROSE"

she gasped as she read the message over and over again. Rose was contacting her? After all these years? She thanked God that she was okay as she quickly made for her room...

George kept his eyes fixated on the celling, wondering the sort of game fate was trying to play on him. He remembered one year ago, when the company suddenly became bankrupt due to unpaid loans and a defraud from one of the most trusted company workers. Stockholders were slowly pulling out their shares and His sweat and blood was on the verge of total collapse until 'luck' brought Luis Nzeribe their way. Luis bought most of the shares and repair the companies debt. Although he didn't trust Luis from the start,due to lack of information about him,he had no other choice but to sit him as a member of the board of directors. It never occurred to him that he was relatives with his worst enemy. He sighed and shook his head again.

He soon heard a soft tap on the door. "Come in" he said and Daisy walked inside with a smile on her face. Daisy. One of his greatest achievements ever since she came back into their lives. She had graduated with a first class honours in business administration and had proceeded to the United kingdom to do her master's. She was extremely bright and had greatly helped in the development of the company. He just wished he had got to spend more time with her.
"Sir, can we talk for a minute"

"Two years Daisy,and you're still referring to me as your boss. Is that not unfair my dear"

"Sorry..dad. Sometimes I can't help it."she grinned and played with her fingers shyly.

"I hope there is no problem. Come and sit down" he tapped on his king-sized bed and she came and sat down.

"None at all. I just wanted to ask about this woman, Alexis. Who is she to you?"

He sighed and sat up. He had been expecting this question since they returned home yesterday.

"She used to be my lover, before she dumped me and went for a wealthy foreigner"

She gasped in shock,"Oh my goodness. What does she want then?"

"She wants me back. It's either that or she wants to ruin me because I once rejected her advances"

"This is bad. But can't we do something about her before she succeeds in her plans?"

"It's too late. Too much is already at stake here,her removal will spell doom for us"

"I knew that Luis guy couldn't be trusted right from day one" Daisy said,folding het fists.

"Me too"he sighed and looked up"I just hope that whatever plans she has will not succeed....."

She opened the door of her apartment and walked in. What a mess,she thought to herself. Her living room was a mess. She would have to call Flora her friend and tell her off before she causes the wife building to collapse one day.

She sat on the couch and brought out her phone. Eight missed calls from mum,the only person she ever kept in touch with in her family. She dialed her number and Susan picked up almost immediately.

"What's up mum?"she asked, walking to the fridge to get something to eat.

"Hi Rose"

She picked up her mother's sad tone almost immediately. "What's wrong mum? Has your husband been at it again?"

"Rose,mind your words. He is still your father"

"Correction mum,was. Remember he disowned me for that bastard of his daughter?" She asked as she took a sip of her chilled drink. Susan sighed on the other end. She didn't have the energy to start arguing with her daughter now so she just changed the topic.

"I have some bad news Rose..."

"What about? If George had a heart attack again then forget it,I'm not going to visit him"

"Alexis is back"Susan broke, ignoring her remark and she spat out her drink at that instant.

"What?!!!!"

"She returned the previous day. She's now sitting as a member of the board of directors....."

Rose cut the call at that instant and dropped the glass cup on the table. Alexis? She thought she had gotten rid of that bitch. This meant one thing. If Alexis was back then it meant that she was out to completely destroy her family and she couldn't let that happen...














Looks like she'd have to return earlier than she thought.

Two years later...
He glanced at his wristwatch again as a black limousine parked in front of him. He removed his shades and a smile drew across his face. The exquisite car purred to the halt and the doors flung open. She gently placed her feet on the grounds of her mother land,like someone who didn't want to stain the tarred road of the airport. She stepped out gracefully,the winds blowing across her carefully moulded face. She hadn't changed much these past few years. A curved her lips upward when she sighted Luis walking towards her,his arms wide open.

"Alexis"he said in his husky voice and hugged her tightly. She gave him a gentle pat on the back.

"Luis"

"How was your trip?" He asked when he released her.

"Tiring as usual. I just need some rest now..."

"Antonio,buddy" Luis called to the tall, muscular and fair skinned Italian man, his green eyes, setting him out immediately. They gave each other quick hug.

"Nigeria seems like a nice place" he said in his weak itallian accent,due to prolonged exposure to the British.

"Oh you'll love it here Antonio,trust me" Alexis held his strong arms.

"Well I hope so. I won't be enjoying my little vacation if it turns out that things are not in place" they both turned to Luis.

"Oh I'm quite sure Luis has been doing the needful, right Luis?"

He gave an evil smirk. "Of course Alexis, I told you I wouldn't disappoint"
Alexis smirked and moved a little further. "I bet they thought they would live happily ever after after what they did to me. But I will make sure each and everyone of them pays dearly for ruining my life. This battle,has just begun........"

"I don't know Uche,I just have this feeling that I'm gonna mess up" Gift... sorry, Daisy said while placing her hand on her chest. Uche turned her to face him and placed his hand on her face. "Look baby, you have been preparing for this from day one. I watched you as you relentlessly practiced day and night, missing hours of sleep just for this moment. There's no way your gonna fail, do you know why?"

"Why?"

"Cuz you're one badass babe" they laughed and he planted a kiss on her lips. Soon, the door opened and George interrupted the moment.

"Eww,can you two please get a room?" He smiled

"Dad"

"They're ready for you Daisy,are you ready for this?"

"Yes Dad"she turned to Uche,"I'm more than ready"

"Perfect. Uche?"

He nodded and the three of them walked into the board room. She walked in front of the directors who were all looking at her sternly. She gulped hard, saying a silent prayer before dropping the files she had on the table. She saw her mum giving her a thumbs up. She gave a nervous smile. Finally,she cleared her throat and was about to speak when the door flung open.

"Sorry I'm late"Alexis said as she rushed into the room. George widened his eyes and gasped in horror.

"Alexis??"

"Yes darling?"

He turned to Susan who just kept staring at the devil that just appeared before them.

"What in Heavens name are YOU doing here?"

"Excuse me,am I not allowed to attend directors meeting which I'm clearly part of?"she rolled her eyes and sat down comfortably. George stood up furiously.

"What do you mean by that Alexis?"

"Oh you didn't know? Well let me explain to you love. I now own sixty five percent of the company shares,all thanks to my wonderful cousin here" she pointed at Luis who just gave a thumbs up. George turned to him with a blazing look.

"What is she talking about Nzeribe?"

"I sold my shares to her. Is there a problem with that?"

"Without my consent!!!?" He said,his blood boiling.

"Calm down George" Susan warned.

"Jeez George, I don't need your consent to make decisions for a company I clearly own" Luis rolled his eyes.

"Shut up! This is not your company!!" He barked and held his chest. Daisy and Susan ran and held him.

"Calm down George. You're over reacting. Have you forgotten that I saved this company"

"What do you want Alexis?" Susan finally asked.

"Nothing! I just want to participate in the companies activities,I'm I doing anything wrong?" She turned to the other board members.

"No Alexis,no way am I letting you into this company"

"That's your problem Georgie. Because if I pull out my shares,your piece of trash of a company is clearly ruined.so,it's your choice" she fake yawned before checking her nails.

"Mr George, maybe we should listen to the lady. It's obvious that she's the one holding this company together. If she pulls out then I do to, because I'm not ready to let my money go to waste" an investor echoed and other members nodded their heads and murmured in agreement. George looked at all of them before his eyes landed on Alexis who was still smirking.

"I can't believe this" he finally said before storming out, Susan following suit.

"Meeting annulled" Daisy said and rushed after her parents...

Well sort of,it's been quite a while since I wrote it and it's just one book away. But I promise I will try and finish it once I'm done with this one since it's shorter.
