Gombe State governor, Alhaji Hassan Dankwambo was on Friday pelted with stones in Kashere, Akko Local Government Area of the state while on a campaign visit to the area to sell the candidacy of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The situation of things got so bad that Dankwabo had to sought refuge at the palace of the Emir of the town. The restive crowd were so angry at the governor that they laid siege on the palace for over three hours.

Although the governor eventually left the palace unscratched, his convoy of cars was not that luck, as the irate mob left them battered beyond imagination.

The people were said to have complained bitterly about the insensitivity of Governor Dankwabo to the state of things in the area caused by insurgency.
