This is no news nah.
Even PhD holders are addressed as doctors. Our problem is that we pursue and are concerned with titles more than services rendered.

Op, this is not what I was told about that logo.

The meaning of the logo is biblical from the event of Numbers 21:4-9. The bronze snake is also a prophetic symbol of Jesus Christ who was hung on the cross; and by whose stripes or wounds, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24)

Don't even try it.

That scholarship is 100% pure scam. There are lots of evidence to prove this. One of this is that the names they provided as their sponsors/partners do not correlate with the pictures that bear those names.

They are scammers
They are thieves

HealthRe: How Nigerian Doctors Worsened Drug Abuse Among Nigerian Youths by Stephaustin(m):
There is nothing one cannot see in an epistle written by a person guided by hatred and useless sentiments.

Doctors worsened drug abuse among Nigerian youths?

That some doctors misbehave does not mean all doctors misbehave; that is fallacy.
You cannot tell me that all pharmacists, lab scientists, nurses and other health workers are saints. Let each sector and individual be probed and the result will be very amazing.

Talking about NAFDAC being headed by a pharmacist as appropriate is also fallacious. NAFDAC does not regulate only drugs, but also food, cosmetics, medical devices, chemicals and packaged water. Are pharmacists also experts in these fields?

I just pity the poor masses that will always bear the brunt of this mess.

Please note that I am neither a doctor nor a medical student before you accuse me of sentiments.

that's to bad for the management of the institution, the rector of the institution needs to be quired on this, so dissapointed
Not really the rector, but the lecturer in charge of the course.
The head of the department was not even aware of this until she was informed the following day.

I heard appropriate measures are being taken with regards to this.

So, the rector has nothing entirely to do in this case.

Am not surprise to see this. In Oko poly the only day lecturers don't come to class is on sunday. I wrote maths quiz by 6:00 am in the morning, we go to from monday to saturday, from 8:00 am (sometimes 6:00 am) till God knows when. So for this, am not surprise. Another department that can do stuff like this is mass comm, EE (electrical/electronics)
Your second statement is a big lie. That it happened in your department and some other departments does not mean that is the trend in Federal Polytechnic, Oko.

That some lecturers did that does not also mean that all the lecturers in your department, not to talk of the polytechnic as a whole, do that as well.

Mind you, I was a student there and still have friends there.

The way you concluded this to be a lie is just unbelievable.
Experiences of falsehood in the past does not mean that similar experiences will always be false. That's fallacious.

I went to the polytechnic and studied in the department in question before transferring to a university. I still have classmates in HND now in the said polytechnic. They are the ones who experienced this; but you just concluded it's a lie.

Many nigerians and being too sure of things they have no right to be sure of are really inseparable.

Oga ASUU President This strike table you are shaking a lot of Nigerian students destiny is standing on it o . grin
You're right, but the Federal government is becoming too non-chalant, stupid, and useless these days. Many graduates today are becoming unemployable because of 'unproffesional' training - I never believed this until I witnessed this in an interview session.
A situation where the federal government cannot carry out its responsibilities but advise the extension of number of years spent in the university.

Last time, it was extending medical study to 11years; now it's spending an extra year after graduation for the non-medical graduates. I wonder what schemes like NYSC and SIWES are really meant for. They only know how to propose useless policies.

Do I blame them? After all their children spend lesser number of years without hitches studying in the diaspora.

Same issue every year and someone is busy using a very handsome amount of money that can avoid this strike for his hospital bills in some other country...Ike gwuu.
That's the point.
Tomorrow the government will say the money is not there, but can afford useless medical trips to London and the likes of it.

This country is really "funny" in a way.
Now in the health sector, JOHESU is on strike. By the time they are back, NMA will start theirs. By the time they are back, Resident doctors will start theirs; and the cycle starts from the beginning again.

In the education sector, ASUU is about going on strike. By the time they are back, NASU will start theirs. If they call off theirs, ASUU will commence the next episode.

In all these, who bears the brunt? The poor masses. Our legislators(senators) are not even moved as far as they keep receiving their mouth-watering pays for doing 'nothing' in that chamber.

Strike in Nigeria is just season movies.

The Catholic church would say the prayer they titled "Prayer for Nigeria in distress", not knowing that Nigeria was even in paradise then. It's now that Nigeria is in real distress.

Sis Rosemary Chukwu would say that those praying for Nigeria are short of words. I join her to ask "Which way Nigeria?"

Sadly, the people that will benefit the most from this currency swap agreement are importers from the south east. The same region that sees nothing good in the president.

Overall, I am very optimistic about the agreement's potential to reduce demand for dollar and hence help strengthen the value of our naira. A stronger naira at this point in time will bring down the high prices of basic essential commodities.

On the other side however, it will make importation from China cheaper and easier. This will further kill whatever is left of our manufacturing sector. We really need to figure out how to encourage Nigerians to consume more of made in Nigeria products. Making imports cheaper from China will continue to hurt our economy if we are not exporting anything significant apart from crude oil in return.
The president did what he did for the good of all Nigerians. There's no particular group of people that will benefit from this in a special way. The effect of this decision will get to every soul living in Nigeria.

To that effect, your first paragraph is a total fallacy. Do remember that the president has staunch supporters among these South Easterners. That you've not met one does not mean there is none. This renders your statement that the South Easterners don't see anything good about the president fallacious. Again, Importers abound in all zones of Nigeria. That you probably have not met one or many does not mean there is none. A market survey will convince you.

I advise we try to avoid hasty generalization in our statements.

However, I totally agree with everything you said in the rest of your write-up. You have a strong point there.

It is an abuse to tradition and culture for SARS to arrest a masquerade.

Why not wait till when he is done masquerading and effect your arrest.
Technically, a masquerade is a spirit or it's representative. How do you arrest a spirit?
Abuse to tradition and culture my foot!

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

Did I hear you say spirit?

A spirit that can be touched and felt.
A spirit that has a father, mother, and siblings that are humans.
A spirit that can be arrested.
A spirit that fears human.
A spirit that fears arms and ammunition.
The list can go on and on.

Some of your spirits have human girlfriends ooooo.
Ladies, make una come and hear that your boyfriends are spirits.

Do you dare ask how a spirit is arrested?
It just happened and you still ask how. Let me laugh again: hahahahahahahaha!
Go to Oko and ask them how the one shot and taken away by the security agents was done. The story is quite hilarious. If you had witnessed the event, you would have seen spirits running for safety from humans, looking for a hidden place to uncloth. One even undressed in front of my aunt's gate, and the transformation was surprising - spirit instantly became human. Hahahahahahaha!

You can as well go to Umuchu and ask for the burial sites of your so-called spirits that were killed in an accident.

Are you an idealist or a realist?

Spirits that deceive our youths and rob them of their good lives and bright futures - TUFIAKWA!

To hell with all these useless "spirits".

King619:
At least one person died yesterday while over 22 others sustained various degrees of injury when masquerades in their numbers invaded the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The masquerades, who were said to be celebrating a festival known as Uzo Iyi, invaded the worship ground, beating up members and also attempting to whisk away the spiritual director of the centre, Rev Fr Emmanuel Obimma.

According to reports, three of the masquerade members were arrested by operatives of SARS upon complaint from the church that they were extorting worshippers coming to the church. The leadership of the church called in the SARS operatives to help their internal security to protect worshipers, but upon arriving, the operatives arrested three masquerades who were involved in the extortion, but their colleagues attempted to stop them from taking the arrested masquerades away, prompting SARS operatives to shoot sporadically into the air before whisking the masquarades away.

Personal Assistant to Fr Obimma, Francis Okoye, who spoke to journalists, said a priest, Rev Father Henry Nnajiofor, a seminarian and 28 others were injured during the attack on the worshippers. It was however gathered from some worshipers that an unidentified person was feared dead during a stampede caused by the attack.

Okoye said: “The normal masquerade activities in Uke, to the best of my knowledge, ends by 6pm but as at 8pm on Friday, the masquerades were still parading at the entrance route of Uke Adoration ground, extorting money from the our members and robbing others on the guise of masquerade festival.

“As at 8:30 pm, we started receiving information that group of masquerades were attacking our members, inflicting bodily injuries on them as a result of severe flogging. They flogged some of them, stabbed some with their weapons including machete, while others were robbed of their mobile phones and other valuables. “We quickly contacted the SARS office to assist our Adoration security that could not handle the situation at that point in time. When SARS arrived in an hour later, they arrested two masquerades but on their way back, the youths blocked the road and insisted that the masquerades must be released. That was when SARS officials fired shots on the air to disperse them. “When SARS left, they regrouped again and this time came in their numbers to the Adoration premises, beating everybody including the elderly, the sick and pregnant women. Our Adoration youths, in defence, pursued them and arrested one other masquerade who stayed in the Adoration ground with us until this morning when we handed him over the official of the Nigerian Army that came for our rescue,” he narrated.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Anambra State, ASP Nkiru Nwode confirmed the incident but denied that the masquerades also attacked the police officers from SARS. She said the command arrested three of the suspects and is currently investigating the cause of the incident

Yes humans were sacrifices in the past because if animals could be sacrificed then why not humans. The Pagan worldview sees all lifeforms as relevant. And these humans were criminals or captured slaves from other tribes whod anyways be executed as per past customs. but in todays day tribal warfare doesnt exist and criminals are served up by national laws so such customs are not relevant. Paganism evolves with time building up on existing core concepts.

And by the way its laughable you are threatening us on our own land. We were here first and you people are just slaves of a foreign cult whom our tolerant ancestors mistakenly welcomed. so you have the right to remain silent.

After going through all the answers, we were able to pick one perfectly correct answer which was submitted by Jibril Muhammad and we have decided to reward him with N400. There were 9 other persons who came very close, they made little errors, in naming organic compounds, commas and hyphens must be properly used, some persons spaced the parent name(octane). The name of the compound in accordance with IUPAC nomenclature is
4,5-diethyl-3,3,6,6-tetramethyloctane.
Special recognition to those who got 3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-4,5-diethyloctane, well done.
