Slow but surely and steadily, you will win this race. I remember your story so well. I am rooting for you. Teemenzo: So a brief update on the journey so far
I became serious with this faceless platform now turned family on the 26th of June this year. That was when i knew i was dealing with a clown as a agent. Fast forward to some days after calling it quit with him, my Nairaland Soldier was able to rescue me and collect my money back. The same 26th, i opened a new GCKey, also applied to Cambrian college but no response yet. A week after i was able to apply to Fanshawe college where i finally got admission in eaxctly a week.
Tuition fee deposit paid. Just concluded my ielts test today. And about to apply for my study permit.
Slow but its steady. |

Do they issue co-op work permit at the airport or you apply for it separately? Thank you |

Any June applicant who had gotten a reply? |

You will be sent a request letter asking for additional documents if you qualify for the NSE route except you submitted it with your application. The additional documents are IELTS of 6.0 and 1 year mybankstatement. tourphland: Good day peeps
How do you know you are going through nse route.
Though i applied with my ielts, I didn’t use an MBS because I didn’t use a naija account.
I never got an nse request too. They just said “we do not need any other documents from you”
I dunno if i am on nse or normal route.
It’s past 2 months of application though, so i guess its normal route. Or how can I really know if it’s normal or nse?
Thanks |

Your landing gist is sweet. I will definitely connect as I am landing in Toronto next weekend. ray007bu: LONG POST ALERT
LANDING GISTT
Omo, I’ve been inactive here for like a week and I just want to say congratulations to everyone that has gotten PPR and also to those that got delyed, please keep pushing, IT WILL DEFINITELY END IN PRAISE.
Traveled on the 23rd of August with Lufthansa (booked on AirCanada website). Let me just say that I’ll advise those that plan to use AirCanada to use someone already in Canada to help them to book because I made the mistake of booking from Nigeria only for me to receive a mail like a week to my flight that “my payment was not confirmed “ and I should come and make payment in person at any of their service centers (NOTE: AirCanada does not have any service Centre in Nigeria). My aunt was able to help me go to the Toronto Pearson Airport and make payment again and they later refunded my money.
So back to the D-day, i had a connecting flight with Lufthansa to Frankfurt and then from Frankfurt to Toronto which was set for 10:55pm. People are leaving this country ooo, the queue to enter Murtala Mohammed airport was so long and I heard people had even been on the queue for up to 2 hours. Mine didn’t take that long as I got to the airport around 6:30pm and the line had started moving.
Finally entered and had to go and weigh my bag because I knew it was more than the accepted kg (I had 32kg and 17kg). I balanced it sha because I don’t have money for extra luggage and my folks had to take some stuff back home. When it was time to get boarding pass, they asked for passport, flight ticket and scanned my Covid test. They also gave me that yellow card to fill in my details. It’s advisable to wrap your foodstuff (it’s 1k) for protection.
My family couldn’t follow me past this point and this was when the floodgates opened ooo, me that was forming hard girl hard girl (Thank God for face mask lol)
At Customs, they asked for my boarding pass, passport (which they stamped) and then you’ll have to remove your shoes and any gadgets you have in your hand luggage.
My flight to Frankfurt was short sha because I slept most of it. The food was cold so I just had tea.
When I got to Frankfurt, it got interesting. Their method of searching, check-in and boarding was very organized. There was a woman there that her Covid test had expired and they told her she would have to redo it (very expensive at that airport).
The flight to Toronto was much longer and AirCanada’s movie selection is top notch. I didn’t even know when I had watched 3 full movies but then no WiFi (you have to pay for it)
Once we landed ehn, first thing I did was Thank God because no be me do am, I’m still shocked sef. Canada Border services asked for Enrollment letter, Admission letter, proof of funds (gave them my funding letter) and then Covid test and I was given my study permit. I also registered on Switch health for arrival Covid test so I ddnt have to stay on the long queue and was out of there within minutes, they also gave me hometest kit for Day 8 (I’m not fully vaccinated)
Right now, I’m on Day 9 of my quarantine (Hotel accommodation provided by my school for 14 days) and I’ve been trying to eat their food o but sometimes it’s difficult. My aunt brought food for me so I’m still on Naija diet .
Anyone that arrives Toronto and wants to connect, I’m always happy to.
Thanks for this platform, I really gained a lot from here, we will all rejoice! |

Awesome analysis. Are you going to the University of Windsor as well? My fellow 40s geng CHIKACIC: I believe your ultimate goal is to become a PR and subsequently a Citizen. So, you have to choose the school that is located in a province that will give you an easy and quick pathway to PR, considering that age is not on your side as per FSWP (Express Entry). My fellow 40 Club member
HR in Windsor (Ontario), so you are looking at OINP (Masters Pathway). HR in Regina (Saskatchewan), so check out the PNP Pathway. I am not too familiar with that, and Global Management in Royal Roads (British Columbia), which is the IT/Tech province with its own PNP pathway. Look into that too.
I will recommend Windsor, Ontario. I guess am biased, cos that's my province.
Though you can use this pathway (OINP) with a Master's degree from Regina and Royal Roads, the trick here is that you have to show "Ties to Ontario", the same way you show home ties for study permit. So, having a Masters from Windsor is an automatic tie to the province. Because during your course of studies, you must have been involved in one community, volunteer work or the other and also you would have developed relationships through friends, church activities, etc. All these are ties, connections to the province.
You can on the other hand choose any of the three, since there is the option of CEC pathway (have at least 1 year full time work experience). Work experience gained under study permit, for eg co-op, does not count). The co-op advantage is that it helps you to get a foot inside the door of the Canadian labour market.
Las, las, the decision is yours. Research and make an informed decision. Please, the above are just my humble views.
Hope this helps to eliminate the confusion. Abi the confusion that was confused, has now become more confused
All the best. |

Let me be selfish and say come to University of Windsor, Lol. Reomond: Greetings to the Elders!
I got admission into University of Windsor Summer 2022 and University of Regina for Winter 2022 for Master, Human Resources Managment. Both are for 2 years and tuition is within the same range.
Also, i just got another admission into Royal Roads University, BC for Master in Global Management 19months with COOP and a bit cheaper than the 2 above.
My confusion is now confused and i am hereby pleading for the elders to please come forward and advice me.
i am 40, self sponsored and my kids will join me later
Thank you! |

For someone who is looking for clients, see how she is sounding. Unfortunately a lot of people will fall for her theatrics. I have learned so much from this platform since I joined all because people are willing to share. I also know how many calls I respond to daily just to give back, the joy it brings to help is second to none. Lianna2020: Omg I never see this kind thing before oo.epistle just because? Wow, such an inspiring story. Congratulations on the completion of your degree. I will be leaving in 2 weeks. Did you apply together with your family or immediately after you got yours? Faithyyyyy: It's been almost a year here and I am glad to be an alumni. I applied for my study permit last year and got it within a month despite the pandemic and delays. I followed up rigorously, didn't defer my classes and started online classes because I was convinced it would favour me. I eventually travelled with my husband and son when resuming on campus and it was a great experience.
Today I am a proud graduate of University of Ottawa. Yes I finished my program in record time and I am over the moon.
My mission here is to give back more positively and encourage everyone on this journey who has faith and believes this is what they want to go for. It takes patience, research, hardwork and even financial commitment.
Let us keep faith and hope alive on this journey of the brave |

Oh dear, this is sad. Sorry about your refusal. To refire, you will need to order another gcms notes to understand their final assessment. I watched a former visa officer talk about the Canadian ties, she mentioned if you have jumpers in your family, it might affect your application. By jumpers she meant people who travelled for one purpose and went on to do something else. That even if they are now legalized, it might still affect. If that’s not your case, you can tackle it head on. Iphiegrace: Coincidentally @EmeeNaka and I got correspondence this Friday and refusal on Sunday, we both submitted on the 30th of April, with same refusal reasons, obviously same visa officer.
Now tell me why I should not be mad, you put everyone in a box and issue same refusal reason, I feel cheated, robbed and unjustly treated honestly.
This is more painful than I thought, actually woke up again to cry it’s 2:20am.
Any suggestion on how to tackle this will really help... |
