The need for a state witness. The dropping of charges only applies to the young guy (20 years old) if the judge agree and he will testify against the remaining two suspects to build a tight case against the shooter who also happened to be the farm owner
Okay, but I hope something befalls the "young guy". No body has a right to rid another person of their life the way they did.

My favorite piece so far 😊

"Some people surrender to staying on the shores of life and be touched by the waves of other's success.

Not out of contentment, but a fear to step into the ocean themselves and make the waves."

RomanceRe: Which Is Better; Should A Wife Fear Her Husband Or Love Him.? by Stephen0mozzy: 4:28am On Aug 06, 2025
"Fear"? Asin fear as used in the phrase "fear of God", or fear in the sense of "a toxic boss who's is hard to please" or fear in the sense of "he can be violent".

Or do you mean "respect" - because I see no reason to date, let alone marry a man you fear.

But love - the actual meaning - not some self-pleasing survival mode profession of 'likeness' - actually comes with reverence amd regards for the other person and a desire to see them happy.

Define your terms well to have a more on-point conversation about the question.

It must not be at gun point. Haven't you heard of people's phone getting snatched through the vehicle window in traffic areas? At night someone in a motorcycle or keke napep can snatch your phone from your hand and zoom off.
You're still mentioning "human problem" - humans are the most vulnerable link in every system, and that's why you should learn to be security conscious - we both know your phone could have been in your bag safely at the point where you got distracted enough for your phone to be snatched off your hands "before you know it".

Utter breach of the Social Contract.

It will be helpful but your phone can still be stolen when you have already unlocked the SIM and the screen lock hasn't activated yet. The thief will have to keep the screen active and still use USSD with your phone. The USSD pin will be the only last line of defense.
The only way your phone should stay on and still be stolen and kept active is of you were robbed at gun point.

Otherwise, your phone should lock after 30secs of inactivity.

Note I was not against USSD pin. But until dey do it, protect yourself.
CrimeRe: How A Thief Stole Money From My Gtbank Account by Stephen0mozzy: 10:23am On Aug 05, 2025
Always put a Sim Password on your phone alongside your normal phone password.

The sim is virtually useless unless you enter the pin. On every sim card linked to your bank - add a sim lock.

Na you work hard, so secure your money on all fronts from your end.

Meanwhile GTB fails here in prioritizing user experience and sacrificing user protection.
CrimeRe: White South African Kills 2 Black Women, Feeds Their Bodies To Pigs by Stephen0mozzy: 6:16am On Aug 05, 2025
Hw is there a conversation about dropping charges within the story when two people are dead - and the apparent lack of remorse (definitely not an accidental manslaughter) seeing their inhumane attempt to hide the body - not by burial, but feeding them to pigs?

Same pigs that will be sold to humans?
So looks like all countries really have to types of laws - for South Africa - law for White and law for Black in their own home.

EducationRe: Parents Should Not Push Their Kids To Commit Suicide After They Fail An Exam by Stephen0mozzy: 5:58am On Aug 05, 2025
Always the blame on someone else. Have you also considered how it feels for the parents to actually cough out 600k for another exam when they were really looking forward to saying "congratulations" - all expenses are done now.

Your friend should hold his suicide-card and humble himself (I am not sure the financial capacity of the family - but it doesn't seem they pluck the money from trees).

Also, the way you ask for money and get it in this scenario matters alot.
1. How did you ask?
2. Were the parents very confident that he would pass the one that he failed, or were they just "try your luck" with him - maybe because he hadn't shown "capacity".
3. "I'm tired of life" - did he pull this emotional blackmail card?
4. How old is he now?
5. How much did he tell the parents he will raise on his own before the deadline?

It's hard for parents too - financially, and in this case, a bit of disappointed family - so asking for a second chance must be done with the trickery of an advocate trying to convince a jury that a guilty man is innocent.

RomanceRe: What Do You Do When Your Partner Is No Longer Attractive To You Anymore? (Image) by Stephen0mozzy: 12:28pm On Aug 04, 2025
Following.
All the truths and the lies can now come in.

If you let us unmarried but dating people to talk:
Attractive does not start and stop at sex - so there are alot of exploring you have at your disposal to keep things "new every morning".

As OP has rightfully said, the law of diminishing returns affect everything under the sun - that's why you should find and be with someone who ordinarily makes a good friend - because romance fluctuates, excitement fades too - so there will be times when you both would just be familiar strangers in the same roof, but because of your vows or commitment you respect your partner and don't see them as objects of utility.

That's why it's important to find and be with a partner who shares your vision, someone that you can both find beauty in the same things that way you're discovering new ways to say "wow, I'm lucky to have you o".

You should be grateful someone of Kemi calibre is speaking up maybe there will be Change somewhere because of that m
No Sir, she can't possibly be seeing only the ills of our country as her only point - why isn't she talking about all the knife stabbings in London, the gun shootings in America, the drug cartels in Columbia if she was a voice of good reason.

Her path is one of playing reggae at a royal ball - she's in British leadership circles and should talk about them. Not this unfounded aggression.

Why is she so uselessly obsessed with her Nigerian ancestry and badmouthing the country?

This is how you know uselessness in human form. Obviously she has no other way of drawing the attention of people through intellectual discourse other than shameless clout chasing on controversial claims.

Especially the buffons who give her a platform and ear to vent her vile.

It was funny the first few times, now its stale. Find a new complain niche

This is the 2020s, if you're going to school so that you can get a job, you're wasting your time and money.

School is to equip you with the knowledge that you can use in your chosen field to provide value to society - its a shame that many spend 4 years of tertiary education, but do not pick up the simplest knowledge of economics - money is in demand and supply.

You have an education that exposes you to formal aspects (and often outdated textbooks - yup books written two years ago are mostly obsolete by today's pace of new findings) and rewards you will a title of B.Sc so you can atleast get interviews and join certain circles - if you networked well.

You not equipping yourself to be able to start something however small with the mighty knowledge you ought to have gotten, you are the problem of yourself - and hey, you can always pivot!!!!! Take a cue of what's in demand, and provide the service (learn it first of course).

Truth is there are not enough jobs to accomodate even 10% of graduates we churn out nation-wide evey year.

Backlogs norva get, amaweh new batch wey no gree wise

Kemetian:
So you believe we did not have medicine and surgery before British invaders got here?

The first step in any transformation is to first educate you Nigerians, on your glorious African history, because you know absolutely Nothing about your precolonial history. Zero.

All you have in your head is the manufactured colonial lies of Tarzan in the jungle.

You don't know your ancestors in Lejja, Nsukka in 2650 BCE invented iron smelting which the entire world uses today to build cars, planes fridges, and phones.

In Lejja is the world's oldest iron smelting site, carbon dated to 2650 BCE.

We practiced medicine and surgery thousands of years before white people existed.

Your black ancestors in ancient Nubia and Kemet taught THEM what 'medicine' is.

Do you know that black West African Moors, many of whom would have been Nigerian, ruled vast swathes of Europe for 800 years up till the 15th century?
Congratulations.... Keep living in past glory.
Colonization is the problem you're facing till today and till tomorrow.

Same way you're claiming Giants of Africa when we should be hiding our heads in shame.

With all your knowledge of history, have you bother to wonder, how did we devolve?
PoliticsRe: Why Is ENGLISH Our Offical Language? Are We Europeans? by Stephen0mozzy: 6:35am On Jul 30, 2025
Na wa for una o.

You for kuku ask, why are we learning Medicine and Surgery instead of Olokun, Amadioha, Ogun et al.

Apart from the obvious fact that we were colonized by the English - it only makes sense that we have a neutral language as the "commonly adopted" language as the same English was used for our education, our commerce and governance.

So yes, if we take our head outta our as*s, it is a logical thing.

Good luck forcing one out of the hundreds of languages and dialects spoken in Nigeria by more than 200+ million people.

The way i take laugh eh 😂😂😂😂

You think say software na shawarma wey dem dey watch recipe take do.

This remains a problem with people who don't understand the foundation of core software development - one, YOU NEVER EXPOSE YOUR PRODUCTION CODE BASE TO DIRECT ACCESS DURING DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING!

1. You work on branches!!!!
2. You use a separate database for development or testing (even if it means cloning the production database - but NEVER RUNNING DIRECTLY ON PROD).

Coding will be wiped out, yeah yeah.... But common sense that comes with coding experience cannot be vibed.

EducationRe: Which Of These Courses Should He Choose? by Stephen0mozzy: 7:42am On Jul 24, 2025
Software Development still looks okay, assuming they really have an excellent curriculum in the school - if all they will be doing is teaching antiquated technologies, then he should just:

1. Take the exam again and target a higher score for Computer Science - Software Development as a degree is still not as "worshipped" as Comp Sci - even though the curriculum is trash in most Nigerian Unis.

2. Go for Cybersecurity, also study for Certifications and self-study for Ethical Hacking.

More importantly, ask around for current students in these departments for honest reviews about how good their department really is, in substance - not name.

In the end, it's what he learns on his own that will help him stand out - not really a certificate.
