Permit me to start with my sincere appreciation to every single student of Ambrose Alli University, from main campus to College Of Medical Sciences and Emaudo campus. I have been shaped and reshaped by love, correction and advise of AAUITES, I’ve learnt from various groups that constitutes the members of this academic community.
.
Since my entry into this school, especially by those by the virtue of the placement of my course, we’ve met , brainstormed, disagreed to agree and shared ideas on all socio-economy and political spheres of humans, including that of this academic society, and other informal and formal gatherings. I have learnt from you all and I will keep learning since leaning is a life long process.
.
Fellow AAUITES, it is certain that we all have things in common even in the presence of diversity. We are socialised from different parents, yet our values and mores are mostly the same as africans, we are raised in various locations to be positive minded individuals, by destiny we met here for education, as our courses, departments and faculties are different, yet we are members of this Great AAU family, and together, we have experienced all manner of challenges mostly caused by humans, the vicissitude of achieving qualitative education is ever becoming stronger and bigger that need to be work on if we all desire to leave a good legacy, a good system for coming generation of AAUITES.

After consultation from fellow comrades, unionist leaders and friends, I, Stephen Ikhane aka AAU Update, humbly declare my interest to inform our STUDENTS’ UNION GOVERNMENT in this 2015/2016 Academy Session as SUG Director Of Information of Great AAU.

With the vision of not solving all of our challenges at a go, of not turning our difficulties over night and promising to build castle in the air to gain AAUITES support, but rather with a single vision borne from sincerity,together with you, to bring school management closer to us the students in terms of information and for early dissemination of information
.


I know there are those who don’t believe in me. I understand the skepticism. After all, each session, candidates from various faculties make similar promises, and I expect this year will be no different. All of us running for SUG Director Of Information will go round various faculties and college,offering our plans, all of us will publicize those qualities we believe that make us uniquely make us set to inform the Students’ Union Government. But too many times, after the election is over and the winner emerged, all those promises fade from memory, and AAUITES turn away, disappointed as before, left to struggle on their own, the olympian level of challenges.

That is why this campaign can’t only be about me, Stephen Ikhane. It must be about us – it must be about what we can do together, your strength will compensate my weakness and your wisdom will minimize my mistakes. This campaign must be the occasion, the vehicle, of our hopes, and our dreams. It will take our time, our energy, your advice and finance, to push us forward when we’re doing right, and to let us know when we’re not. This campaign has to be about reclaiming the meaning of Students Union, restoring our sense of common purpose, and realizing that no obstacles can withstand the power of determined collective AAUITES that desire a positive system

It is very important to note that passing JAMB/UTME does not guaranty automatic admission into any nigerian university, rather it’s only a ticket that qualifies candidate. Post UTME aptitude test is an extension of the JAMB examination in which candidates are expected to pass in order to gain admission into any university within Nigeria.

FEAR NOT: Fear is one of the greatest killer for someone who wants to pass his or her Post UTME, do not be intimidated by the number of people you see writing the same course with you, someone who fear has already been defeated and has already fail 89% of his or her Post UTME, never you allow fear to over shadow you, because someone who is afraid can never concentrate, try and free your mind, if possible sing inspirational songs, speak to yourself, encourage and give hope to yourself, if you are able to remove fear in you, then you are already on the road to success.

4. ANSWER THE ONES YOU KNOW:
When answering your questions make sure you answer the ones you no first before attempting to answer others.

5. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS: There are instructions in every exam, especially in Post UTME exam, You have to follow the instructions in other for your work to be accepted, make sure you read the instruction very well before you start answering any question, I will be listing out few instructions, but note they may be different in other university.
i) Do not shade two answer in a question
ii) make sure you write your name, reg number, jamb score and your 1st and 2nd choice university in your answer sheet iv) make sure you start at the appropriate time given to you and make sure your answer sheet is not tear, because if it is tear the computer marking the answer sheet may reject your work.

Post UTME 2016/2017 Academic Session by AAU Update:

Even In A Bad Exam Condition, An Intelligent student should at least pass. 180 isn't too small.
The fact that you couldn't cross that mark, shows you didn't put your all towards it
.
One thing I noticed about this year's JAMB is that the people who really read, studied , fasted, prayed and did everything possible to pass really passed. The only problem I'm having with some aspirants is that they obviously didn't score up to their expectation....
.
On the other hand, EVERY BODY MUST NOT PASS! Thats the bitter truth.
After the JAMB exam this year, I did not heard anyone saying he or she didn't write well... Does that mean everyone wrote well and weren't given their real scores? Does that mean nobody failed.?
.
Even those that know deep down within their heart that they didn't prepare well for the exam and didn't write well are still ranting trash like "Remark JAMB 2016"
from the statement "Remark JAMB 2016" ,One can decipher how "intelligent" that person is.. It ought to be "Remark utme 2016!"..
.
In all, I leave you with this. Know that

Everybody must not pass,
Those tha really prepared didn't fail, they only probably didn't meet their expectations
.
Don't give up.... prepare harder in your post UTME... also get closer to God.... You will make it

My little opinion from my little observation... Students come and go....SUG still remains with its rickety promises, aims and objectives et al. It is very simple.

.
The so called SUG excos wants to graduate and same applies to the students. (at least the school uses that as a tool to restrict the Union's agitations). There's however a way to go around this...but it will never be possible because there are traitors. Small aluta the next thing them don paste matric number... And trust me u don't want to have security issues in this school..
.
So until the Union is ready, the students will not be ready. Forget about the fact that the students are acting indifferently... "we" are more concerned than the excos...we just need someone that will be ready to work with the students..(at least concerned students) so that when the union speaks...the school management will listen.
.
Until the stupid mentally of running for SUG because of it's niceties wipes off our eyes (Directed to the incumbent excos and the subsquent aspirants) The Union will maintain it's current status quo...and believe me... Unionism has lost its sense here. Someone or a group of people has to revamp it.
.
Problems of Unionism in school are
.
One, Greed among Union members, they want to make quick and lazy money instead of good name. Too bad as they keep selling the Union and Student's rights for a small plate of cold and tasteless beans. What kind of money will you make when you can't face your students when you graduate with your shoulders high?
.
Secondly, some students are the cause why the Union can't function well, many students are not bold at all to tell these Union members who have failed to their face that they are failures. Disassociate yourself from any failed Union member like he or she has leprosy, girls also enjoy going after boys in the Union who are celebrated failures but why? We must stop hailing and celebrating jokers who are Union members in our midst. A no do well is a no do well.
.
These are my views why unionism is no more anything to write about. A good leader attracts followers while a bad leader attracts insults and condemnation openly without followers.

A New University Has Been Established In Edo State By The State Government.

The name is Edo University Iyamo (EUI)

This University was opened by Adams Oshimholem, Edo state Governor

Issue Of Concessional Fee:
.
The concessional fee is an important fee that has to be paid by every student who changed there courses after being admitted and most of those persons were on the second batch and third batch so every students that fall in this category are expected to pay the concessional fee before examination, failure to pay will attract punishment of not issuing school fee original receipt that will enable every student to write his/her examination.
.
We discovered that most student that were admitted on merit still found themselves in the category of students to pay the fee. A letter as been sent to the registrar, Prof Ojo Maliki who will in turn explain why it is so but his advise to those on merit was still to pay since they already found themselves on the list of those that will pay the fee.
.
Please Note: Concessional fee was suppose to have been added to the tuition fee but the Kofa who recently placed Socket Works this semester but they didn't add it to the tuition rather they separated it of which socket works added it during their time.
He closed by saying we want to apologise to every students who are going through the stress of going to the bank to pay. Please try and pay before the examination for it will attract exam punishment.

Two arrested as 23 renounce cultism in AAU Ekpoma.
.
No fewer than 23 members of secret cult groups have
publicly renounced cultism at the Ambrose Alli University (AAU ),
Ekpoma , Edo State .
.
This is as two suspected cultists have been arrested in the
university town of Ekpoma for attempting to forcefully recruit
some students into their cult group.
.
The repentant cultists renounced membership of secret cults at a
church service organized by the Chapel of the Good Shepherd
Church and the Redeemed Christian Church of God in
conjunction with Ambrose Alli University .
.
Speaking at the event , the dean of Students Affairs of the
university, Prof. Isaac Aigbedion enthused that the renunciation
marked the beginning of a new dawn in the university .
Aigbedion said renouncing cultism meant abandoning reckless
life style and evil ways , adding that no good thing comes from
the devil .
.
“ I know today, the devil have been put to shame through these
young lads who have decided to abandon him for God , leaving
the bush for a straight road that leads to God ’ s own way.
“ After today’ s renunciation , I am quite sure that a lot of parents
and guidance would know that cultism has been swept away
from AAU and Esan West Local Government Area ” , he said .

In a brief sermon by the pastor of the Good Shepherd Church ,
Rev. Innocent Ebbeh praised the student for taking the decision
to resource cultism , noting that by the decision they have opened
positive doors to their futures .
.
He warned the congregation to be mindful of the decision they
make in life , pointing out that choices made by humans in life
either makes or mar his or her future.
.
High points of the event were prayer and deliverance exercises
for repentant cultists , conducted by the zonal pastor of Edo
Province 4 , Benin, of the Redeemed Christian Church of God
(RCCG ), Pastor Allan Dirisu and Pastor (Mrs ) Hilda Aigbedion of
RCCG, Ekpoma .
.
Meanwhile , two suspected cultists have been arrested in
Ekpoma , Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State , while
attempting to forcefully recruit some students into their cult
group.
.
They were apprehended and handed over to security agency by
the Association of Indigenes Against Cultism in Esan West, and
were paraded at the renunciation venue .
.
Items recovered from the suspected cultists are two cut to size
guns and one small axe otherwise known as battle axe .
The suspected cultists who confessed to be members of Jurist
Confraternity, however claimed they were on the verge of
renouncing their membership of the cult when they were
apprehended .

The Vice-Chancellor, Pro (Mrs) C.A Agbebaku as on behalf of Senate approved that the activities of Red Cross and Man O' War be proscribed in the University with immediate effect
.
Furthermore, their members are to vacate their hall of residence as drop the flying flags which signify withdrawal of their authority
.

HAPPY MATRICULATION TO ALL AAU FRESHERS:

The race is not for the swift, nor the battle for
the
strong, but of God who shows mercy!
.
I bring courteous greetings to you all, my Alma
Mata; the indefatigable Better by far students,
especially the matriculating students. It's about
this month in 2013 when I had mine and I was
filled with joy and laughter, becoming a bona fide
student of the best University in Nigeria.
Lo and behold, it dawned on me when tests and
exams started we were not in the University for
joke as we all believed in our secondary school
days.
.
Many fell away by the road side and were unable
to make it to 200 level cause of parties, laziness
and
truancy.
.
Here we are today.
My advice to all matriculating students, is to be
focused and determined to succeed! The G.P you
build from your 100level days has a great
influence on what you will finally graduate with.

Don't sleep while you should be reading and don't
read while you should be sleeping. Make them
balanced and be prayerful as much.
.
Do not join bad gangs, get the right friends cause
they have a great influence in your output at the
end of the day.
.
Obey dress codes and always be attentive in
class. Read daily and not just when exam or test
is near.
.
I leave you with a word of hope:
Be a difference in your generation and impact
lives. Don't join them to destroy your institution
but join in its building. All will be well with your
souls.

Finally! Finally!! Finally!!!

Campus is very busy right, everybody is so excited especially the new students
.

The long awaited AAU Matric is tomorrow Tuesday 9th February 2016
.
AAU 2015 admission was something else
.
It all started with stress, it wasn't easy on AAU Update and the new intake,
.
Post UTME date was postponed, scammers started scamming students of their post UTME money which they were supposed to purchase the form. I was able to eradicate them
.
Post UTME result came late but the school management release cut off mark on time
.
Then admission list was delayed close to 3 months due to socket works contracted that got expired then BTech (Kofa) took over from socket works, the kofa account wasn't easy on AAU Update at all. Nobody understood the new portal apart from AAU Update... Carrying both old and new students
.
Then clearance started lately
.
After all these, school fees was increased... Then there was pressure on me once again. I tried everything possible to see if something could be done but unfortunately.........
.
If that was not enough they posted matric date indefinitely,
.
And now, Matric holds TOMORROW TUESDAY 9TH FEBRUARY 2016
.
Morals of the post: delay does not mean denial

As a matter of fact Faculty Of Natural Sciences (FNS) and Faculty Of Education started the distribution of matric gowns today and other faculties instructed students their students to wait till monday.
