Dr. Alex Chioma Otti is a living legend
steveekeoma:
REBUTTAL TO THE OPEN LETTER WRITTEN BY ONE MR. ERIC IKWUAGWU TO PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU; WRITTEN BY EKEOMA LEKWAUWA

Your Excellency,

I bring you warm and loyal greetings from the industrious people of Abia State, particularly from the resilient residents of Aba, who have borne the brunt of decades-long infrastructural decay and are today witnesses to a genuine transformation under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.

I write in response to a politically motivated and factually flawed open letter authored by one Mr. Eric Ikwuagwu, which has circulated across some media platforms in an apparent bid to cast aspersions on the developmental strides of the Abia State Government ably led by Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR), and more regrettably, to mislead Your Excellency and the Nigerian public regarding the strategic reconstruction of Port Harcourt Road, Aba, a once-failed federal road that was fully rebuilt by Governor Alex Otti’s administration.

Let it be stated unequivocally that the comparative analysis drawn between Port Harcourt Road and other federal roads, such as Onitsha–Enugu or Aba–Ikot Ekpene, is technically defective, contextually misleading, and deliberately mischievous. These roads differ significantly in their topography, degree of degradation, construction methodology, and urban complexity. Port Harcourt Road, a Trunk A road that had been abandoned and impassable for over two decades, was more than just pothole-ridden; it was a failed corridor completely overrun by erosion, illegal dumping, collapsed drainages, and buried utility lines. For nearly 20 years, successive governments treated the road with cosmetic patchwork that repeatedly failed. The previous administration underperformed grossly in road construction. What existed before Governor Otti’s intervention were failed attempts and abandoned drain lines that exacerbated the flooding crisis on that axis. Governor Otti’s administration completely reimagined and executed the project from scratch. There was no 40% foundation to build upon; it was a clean slate effort.
When Governor Otti assumed office, he did not resurface or overlay it with asphalt, Instead, he embarked on a complete structural reconstruction using Julius Berger Plc, known for its uncompromising quality and engineering excellence. The entire road had to be excavated and rebuilt with new layers of sub-base, base course, drainage infrastructure on both sides, reinforced culverts, streetlights, and sustainable water evacuation channels. It is important to highlight that the project included heavy concrete works to address flooding and drainage failure. Aba is a commercial and industrial city with underground utility complexities, which required careful relocation of water mains, powerlines, and fibre optic cables.
The engagement of Julius Berger, a top-tier engineering firm, ensures world-class delivery with long-term value, unlike short-term political patch jobs. The cost also reflects urban project logistics, security etc, So, the simplistic attempt to divide the total cost by kilometers without considering these variables is intellectually dishonest,( so the 40% is entirely false and fabricated).

Before Governor Otti assumed office in May 2023, Port Harcourt Road was a death trap, not motorable, and in most parts, completely overtaken with refuse and gulleys. There was no measurable work done by any previous government on this road. What existed were false starts and empty flag-offs. The photographic and documentary evidence, including satellite imaging, is publicly available and tells the truth.

Mr. President, your presence to commission the Port Harcourt Road is not just a political courtesy, it is a national endorsement of responsible governance, inter-governmental collaboration, and infrastructural renewal.
You represent a renewed hope agenda; Governor Otti is an embodiment of that hope in Abia, which he has proven through a transparent NEW ABIA. Your visit is a message to other sub-national governments that the execution of Road infrastructure without waiting for political excuses is commendable.
It symbolizes federal-state synergy in a federated structure, the same way Enugu, Lagos, Kaduna, or Rivers showcase projects to the federal government. Your Excellency, the commissioning of the Port Harcourt Road under your leadership is not just about the road—it is about national integration, economic connectivity, and good governance synergy between the federal and state levels. Your presence sends a strong signal that you endorse integrity, excellence, and people-centred governance, values that Governor Otti embodies.

Your predecessors have commissioned roads of similar lengths across states when they are transformational in impact, not just distance. Aba is the heart of Igbo commerce. Port Harcourt Road is a vital artery for trade across the South East and South-South zones. By commissioning it, you would be indirectly recommissioning Aba for industrial competitiveness.

The author of the open letter attempted to smear the Governor with speculative innuendo about Signature Bank. Let it be known that no public funds were used or diverted toward any private institution. Signature Bank is a regulated commercial entity under the CBN with no connection to Abia State finances. The State’s budget and procurement processes are transparent and have been subject to legislative oversight.

The author( who have not been able to put his House together Abia state PDP and under his watch has turn PDP a Shadow opposition and a death party cannot attributes to himself a concern citizen) falsely claims the Governor resides in a private house. This, again, is misinformation. The issue of the Governor operating from his private residence is a transitional necessity due to the deplorable condition of the Government House, which is currently under reconstruction. While renovations continue on its older structures. Leadership is about productivity, not symbolism, and Abians have experienced more governance in 21 months under Governor Otti than they did in the past 23 years combined. Abia State PDP is an extension of devil reincarnate, Abians are wiser and have thoughtfully embraced NEW ABIA.

Mr. President, kindly disregard the open letter by Mr. Ikwuagwu as a poorly disguised political rant lacking in truth, substance, or civic merit. Governor Otti's administration is not perfect, but it stands as a beacon of accountability, transparency and infrastructural delivery. His invitation to you is not just for the ceremony. It is a statement of your legacy of rewarding good governance, and we, the good people of Abia, are proud of the bold leadership you both represent.

Your presence in Aba would inspire millions of Nigerians who now see that when leaders truly serve, roads are not just built, trust is rebuilt. Your Excellency, as the father of the nation, your visit to Abia at this critical time will boost investor confidence, reinforce intergovernmental trust, and assure the people that their voices matter. You are not being invited to campaign; you are being invited to confirm what real transformation looks like in action.

I urge you, Sir, to disregard the politically motivated distractions and join the good people of Abia in celebrating the return of hope, progress, and leadership.

The Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mr. Chaka Chukwumerije, who gave this cheering news to newsmen, said that this follows extensive discussions and community negotiations by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, and the Special Assistant on Lands and Housing, Pastor Okorougo Aji, covering the seven land donor communities in Nsulu.

According to the Commissioner, a proper understanding has been reached with the land donor communities, which includes the joint survey activities between the Office of the Surveyor General and the Nsulu donor Communities as represented by their various youth leaders.

In his words, "At the commencement of the survey on Saturday, November 30, 2024, some members of the Umunna Nsulu protested not being carried along. Nairaland GeneralAba-based Businessman Cries Out Over Half-filled Ovaltine Container And Alleges by steveekeoma(op): 2:04pm On Dec 02, 2024
Renowned businessman Lucky Ezigbo, based in Aba Abia State, has taken to social media to express frustration over a recent purchase of Ovaltine chocolate. According to Ezigbo, the product, which was supposed to be filled to the brim, was discovered to be only half-full upon opening the container.

Ezigbo stated that he purchased the chocolate for ₦11,000, expecting full value for his money. However, he was left disappointed when he realized the container was significantly underfilled. "This is unfair and unacceptable," he lamented in a widely circulated video. "We pay premium prices for quality products, but this feels like a rip-off."

This is painful and unacceptable,” Mr. Ezigbo said. “How can I spend ₦11,000 on a product, believing it’s full, only to find out it’s just half inside? This is daylight robbery. I feel cheated, and I’m calling on the company responsible and the Nigerian government to address this.”

The businessman directed his grievance at both the manufacturers of Ovaltine and regulatory authorities in Nigeria, calling on the government to ensure that consumer rights are protected. "Where are the quality control measures? How does this happen under the watch of our regulatory bodies?" he questioned.

The incident has sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences with other consumer goods. Some have called for stricter enforcement of product standards by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON). Intervene to ensure Nigerian consumers receive value for their money.

The incident has sparked discussions online, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences of encountering under-filled containers in various products. Some users have suggested that this may be a result of manufacturing errors, while others suspect a deliberate reduction of product quantities due to inflation.

Efforts to reach the manufacturers of Ovaltine for comment have been unsuccessful at the time of this report.

Ezigbo's outcry serves as a reminder of the need for manufacturers to uphold transparency and integrity in product packaging. Consumer advocacy groups have urged the government to investigate the matter and ensure accountability.

The businessman has vowed to pursue the issue until he receives justice, emphasizing that this is not just about the money but about the principle of fair trade.
Mr. Ezigbo’s ordeal serves as a reminder of the importance of consumer rights in Nigeria and the need for stricter oversight of product packaging and quality in the market.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: My Job Is At Risk Because Of Office Romance Involving My Boss by steveekeoma(m): 8:10pm On Apr 25, 2023
SundayNightGist:
Sharing this story with you is risky because it's a true story and it actually happened, but I'm not deterred as I'm on a mission to sanitize our society of all forms of immorality. Now lets get right into it without any further ado.

My office is located in Gwarinpa in Abuja and my boss is a very busy man who hardly stays in the office. We have another branch in Guzape (Asokoro extension) where my boss hired a lady as the manager in charge. This particular lady is fair and very endowed both ways (I mean front and back). She's attractive too, no doubt. She happens to be a single mother with a son. My boss on the other hand is a family man with four kids.

I had just joined the company when I started noticing that this lady usually drives the company's Mazda salon car to our branch (the headquarters) every week (Thursdays to be precise) to hold a "private meeting" with my boss. Word in the office has it that she was coming for weekly "reporting". Honestly I never once bothered to try and find out what was really going on as I'm the type that is very serious with my work.

Not until the guys in the office started bantering in groups and talking about what was actually going on. Again, I shrugged off their conversation because what's my business, and besides, I don't do office gossip. Well, not until one fateful day....

As I was hurrying up a task given to me by my boss in my usual seriousness with my work, I needed to rush to his office to get his final approval on something that he had asked me to do when I ran into the unbelievable!

Was I dreaming? Was my eyes paining me? For Pete's sake, what was this? In broad daylight that evening, as I knocked, my boss answered "come in" nonchallantly. I don't know what he was thinking. Lo and behold, there they were, he and our branch manager both standing on their feet and very close to each other with my boss unzipping her dress with his both hands! I was embarrassed and so were they. Usually, whenever this lady is around my boss would immediately close all his window curtains. This normally happens around or after closing (remember I told you I'm a serious office worker, so I stay back a lot because naturally I work late into the night everyday).

Since that incident, whatever I say in any meeting involving this particular lady is always accepted and approved by her whether it makes sense or not. In fact, she's trying to move close to me and become my friend by force now to the extent that she even chats with me privately now regularly.

While a man has the full right to do whatever he likes, my question is why do this in the workplace? Why would my boss engage in office romance right in the office building? And why is the lady in question now trying to get close to me by force now? Am I in any real danger? I don't want to lose my job. Please what do I do?
Just go close to her but use your head
