Nairaland / General / Re: Take This Personality Test by Stiv(m): 1:17pm On Sep 08, 2013
Professional

Pragmatic

Self-Assured

You take charge of your life, and place less faith in your luck and more in your own deeds. You solve problems in a practical, uncomplicated manner. You take a realistic view of the things in your daily life and tackle them without wavering. You are given a great deal of responsibility at work, because people know that you can be depended upon.

Your pronounced strength of will projects your self-assurance to others. You are never fully satisfied until you have accomplished your ideas.

uboma: @ everyone, from the pictures above, the damaged vehicle seems to parked within a compound. So I want to ask the op, was the vehicle moved from the point of the accident?

Good observation. The accident happened yesterday and they suddenly moved it to a compound? I find it absurd that the eye-witness couldn't snap the car at the scene of the incident but at the compound.

ugogboskey: What has come over Keshi! His success so far notwithstanding, I think that Keshi has some sort of character issues. He can do better than that for God's sake. Nothing the Malawian coach has said warranted such language from Keshi...

Beat the Malawians. That is all the talking we expect from Keshi now!

Dude, he requested for anti-bomb squad for the match to be played in Calabar. This is Calabar we are talking about. Peaceful Calabar. I'm fully with Keshi. He should go back to Belgium. If he had any brains .........

Politics / Re: Two Mad Lagosians To Be Deported Back To Lagos By Akwa Ibom State Government - by Stiv(m): 7:28am On Aug 12, 2013
Christ Addict:

Have you ever studied the history of Lagos?

Good question. Some people defend Fashola as if he can't make mistakes. The illegality with this deportation is that we are doing it to our own citizens. There's no sense in that. After deportation of the poor, what next? Higher taxes for non-indigenes? Quota system of employment in the private sector? While Fashola may be trying to decongest Lagos, he should understand the sensitivity of this decision.

And for Femi Falana trying to cite imprisonment examples as deportation, that is really low and disappointing.

On a final note, Fashola's achievements are Fashola's achievements. Yoruba brothers from other states, tell your Governors to wake up. Igbo, South-South Governors, wake up. Northern Governors, do useful work for the masses.

tatosh: Jonathan himself is a product of corruption and he has proven to us time and again that it is ok to steal from government with impunity. Those who are in support of jonathan is either based on ethnic sentiments or they're being paid.
No serious governemt especially one that is making so much noise about transformation can ever move forward with the level of corruption, malfeasance and theft of the common wealth. If you don't fight it there can never be no transformation.
Looking critically at what is on ground, littLe or nothing has been actually transformed all they have is plans and 3D maps. Health sector is terrible, Education is collapsing, little or no actual improvement in basic infrastructure, power sector is even worse after we have been promised heaven and earth.
If you disagree with me please bring facts of things that affect the common Nigerian that has actually improved

Did corruption start in GEJ's regime? Why are we grossly hypocritical? Was Nigeria a blessed state before Jonathan came to power? Was El-Rufai not a beneficiary of a corrupt government? Who owns LCC? Did Fash really use 1Bn Naira to construct a 10km road?

PDP is corrupt, but its shocking that the people who contributed to make it so have cross-carpeted and are acting as if they're saints. If people want to be blind, fine by them.

He without sin should cast the first stone. And he with sins should confess them and seek forgiveness first before castigating his fellow sinner.

Don't mind that fool!! I wonder why all this southerners think that the North is one bush!! Were civilisation is yet to get there!
They haven't been to the north oh,but they will open their large mouths and say nonsense about hausa people!
That's why whenever they are doing any rating of governors, they will always put Northern governors last, meanwhile most of them have out-performed their southern counterparts!!
I'll still stand by this statement - Rich hausa people are the most civilised people in Nigeria

Dude, while I understand you anger at someone insulting the general Northerners, I'd appreciate it if you didn't toe the same line by insulting all southerners. I've been to the North and I can attest to the fact that rich Hausa people are sophisticated. I cannot attest to the fact that they are the most sophisticated. If we have Southerners who haven't been to the North, we also have Northerners who haven't been to the South. However, from your statement, civilization seems to exist only among the rich Hausas. Try and change that.

take dat: Short sighted, lazy and patronage-inclined self styled ethnic champions engaging in senseless ethnic-based and irrational arguments. So because both men are not from the ND, they must not interfere in ND affairs? So the Ijaws are now the mouthpiece for the entire region? The Ijaws most especially should shun forthwith, their agenda of promoting threat situations, and defending the indefensible whenever the presidency is criticized. No tribe has the monopoly of violence, nothing must happen to both men(WS and Falana)

Guy, both men should take heed. I'm yet to understand the business of the two Yoruba men in Rivers crisis. We are talking of Rivers State, not Ekiti State.

If Prof. Tam-West did say these things, he is indeed unpatriotic. Typical Nigerians chasing shadows, instead of substance.

oxford: Ok so Keshi won the African cup of nation and he can no longer be corrected abi? Rubbish.
My memory has not failed me. I remember how we were nearly eliminated from the cup of nation just at the group stage. I remember how we watched with bated breath, at the edge of our seat how lowly fifa rated Burkina nearly gave 160 million nigeria heart attack. Truth is we had luck on our side in afcon 2012. so let us not allow that get into our head.

Second, the world cup is a different stage all together and only the very best gets there both for coaches and players. Truth a team that average one goal per match is not a world cup team. Keshi is not yet there, and he must be told that hard fact straight in the face.

He must also realise that he needs our collective input because at the end if we allow he to messed up, we bear the burden. I must sincerely thank maigari and his team for threatening him with a sack at afcon, otherwise he and his team would have slept all through.

now the question is where are these players:
1. Osaze

2.Lukeman

3.Joel Obi

4.Obase

I don't think you'll like somewhere to meddle in your job. As for the players you called, I don't think they'll do better than the ones we have. Osaze is an unstable fellow, capable of causing trouble in the team. He's a bad influence. He's one of the reasons we didn't qualify for Afcon 2012. I don't think the other players are in form.

This is a fascinating story, and it definitely deserves more than a nairaland frontpage. It deserves to be published as a book, an e-book, and its a great story for a blockbuster hollywood movie (Quentin Tarantino style). I like the way you did your research from wikipedia and other places to aid your writing. Well done, Frank.

However, when doing the final publishing, change from cops to police. That's how we know them in Naija. And get a solid proof reader. We humbly await the final chapter.
