What of vetiva research that put their diamond target at #5, with buy recommendation? And some nice stock at sell recommendation.
Some of these recommendation usually drag some people inside pit.
You are very right bro. I have stopped listening to their stock recommendations, it is all done to serve the purposes best known to them. Stock Information here worths more than their outrageous subscription fee which often more biased and skewed to serve their purposes.

This is a wrong IT security then. Normally one's profile should reset once activity is not detected for some minutes (maybe 5mins). It should not take him time to login.
Yes there's something wrong with their IT security system. They should look into it.

For those with Morgan !! I notice I can't log into my account. It keeps saying wrong user password but am 300% sure the password is correct. Have contacted customer care but yet to get any thing!
Has anybody experience such??
It could be that you closed down the window without actually loging out. This means that that morgan system will still detect your account as being logged into even when you couldn't log in. When this happens it take around an hour before you can log in again.

What did Ibeto, Folawiyo, BUA, Lafarge and other cement importers/manufacturers do when Obasanjo came up with the backward integration policy in the cement industry?
How many keyed in into the policy and believed that the government will embark on a gradual policy of reducing importation of cement?
I am fully aware that Ibeto did something in respect of cement backward integration policy implemented by Obj gov. I hope u remembered how his cement importing licence was illegally revoked and was rumoured to have been engineered by those who strongly disdained mrk competition. That licence was later restored by Jonatan after they settled out of court making Ibeto the only cement importing company to compensate for lost ground when others were importing. He is has acquired Ngalagu cement(nigercem) and it is currently undergoing turnaround.

Nothing stops sugar importers from joining forces together and challenge Dangote sugar and Flour Mills.

With the focus of the government on Agriculture, investors in Sugar production have a lot to gain.
Sometimes, it is easier said than done. I like dangote companies because he enjoys alot of patronages and privileges from government. He is an anointed son of any government in power and he knows how to warm himself into the heart of people in power. Take it from me, if not for direct intervention of government, dangote wouldn't have been where he is today.

THANKS. We have seen many times that Alhaji struggle to compete anytime the market becomes a free for all. That's why he cashed out of the Flour Business initially.

The Noodles division is a good example. Get to ANY market and see the number of Noodles on offer! Competition is stiff. With stiff competition, your best bet is going the NBL route of acquiring your competitors to create a 'monopoly'. Unfortunately, the flour milling business is so fragmented. So a 50% growth in revenue year on year is unsustainable. To achieve ANYTHING close, you either increase price, increase capacity (or new product) or do both. Now the market is FINITE with many competitors. So there is a limit to that. With the numerous competition there is a LIMIT. So expecting him to sustain current performance is wishful thinking.

Anytime Alhaji get into a competitive landscape, he struggles! He require monopolies to thrive. That is why his favourite investment are ones in which there is HIGH barrier of entry for competitors.

There is a reason why he failed in Banking and struggling in upstream oil and gas and did nothing with Telecomms.

Watch this space.
I think you are right. Dangote hates market competition with passion and his perspective towards it is laced with odious disdain. He has tried and failed severally when competition is stiffed, in most cases he needs special intervention from government in order to stifle his market competitors. By the way, in Ibeto cement saga, we know what transpired. We also know his case against BUA group and so many uncountable others too numerous to elaborate.

That said, i have no doubt in my mind that his flour voyage will be a huge success as it is still constitute of about 50 percent of my portfolio which I brought at average price of 5.20k

*1* - At all Material time , Innoson Nigeria Ltd operates a Current Account with GTBank .
*2* - Innoson obtained , and had repaid same , a loan of N1.3billion from GTB Which was secured with a legal mortgage of its properties valued at more than N1.4billion .

*7* - After the account was audited , it was discovered that GTBank has been illegally deducting excess bank charges on its overdraft facility to the Innoson to the tune of seven hundred and Eighty-Six Million, Two Hundred and Five Thousand , Nine Hundred and Fifty-Five Naira , Ninety Nine kobo ( N786,205,955.99).
*8* - GTBank was shocked at the audit report when the report was forwarded to it .They replied in their letter to Innoson on 20th January , 2012 that it will investigate the issue raised and will get back to Innoson on the Conclusion of its investigation .
*9* - In the month of September 2012 , GTBank wrote to Innoson that from their personal audit report , the excess bank charges was Five Hundred and Fifty-Nine Million , three Hundred and Seventy-Two naira ,Nine kobo ( N 559.3Million).
*10* - Innoson agreed to their version and decided to accept payment from it in the spirit of amicable resolution.
*11*- Innoson also requested that the said agreed amount of N559.3million be paid with a 22% interest rate because Innoson had been repaying all his loan with GTBank at 22% interest rate.
*12* - GTBank refused and said that the best they can repay excess and illegal deduction is at 7% interest rate . This led to another disagreement between Innoson and GTBank .
*13* - As a result , in 2012 , Innoson sued GTBank at Federal High Court Awka with Suit No : FHC/Awk/Cs/2012 .
*14* - Federal High Court, Awka delivered Judgement in favour of Innoson in excess of N4.7billion against GTBank.

*17* - In its various affidavits, particularly at the Court of Appeal in suit no : CA/E/288/2013 , GTBank deposed that if it pays the outstanding Judgement debt of N6billion , much less the N8.5billion , it could go bankrupt and be out of business .
*18* - GTBank went to the Supreme Court .The case is still in the Supreme Court , while the Judgement debt is about N8billion now to be paid to Innoson by GTBank .

*22* - Rather than Comply with the Garnishee Order Absolute of the Court , GTBank on February 6, 2015 appealed the Judgement , but the Court of Appeal in Appeal no. CA/1/258/2011 affirmed the Judgement of the Federal High Court and ordered GTBank to pay the Judgement debt of #2,048,737,443.67 (#2.048billion) to Innoson .
*23* - GTBank , instead , appealed to the Supreme Court against the Court of Appeal's decision where GTBank claimed through a motion in suit no : Sc /694/2014, that the Court of Appeal Judgement in Ibadan (CA/I/258/2011) was procured by suspicious means .
*24* - On May 12, 2017 , Supreme Court in its wisdom and rightly , dismissed that unfounded and exasperating claim of GTB against Innoson .
*25* - As a result , Innoson commenced a N400 billion suit against GTBank , in the suit No: FCT /HC/CV/2448/2017 at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja .
*Another issues :*
*26* - Consequently , in order to save itself from paying the outstanding Judgement debts to Innoson , the GTBbank filed a petition against Innoson alleging forgery which led to the suit No : FHC /L/565C/2015 by Police .
*27* - On February 17, 2016 , Police properly and Competently withdraw the charges against Innoson , saying they needed to properly investigate the bank's complaints first and see if they had merits .

*29* - However , on June 10, 2015 , *Justice Saliu Saidu* of the Federal High Court , Lagos , in a Considered ruling set aside the ex parte order of September 1, 2014 , by Justice Okon Abang and the writ of summon as well .
*30* - Innoson then slammed a N30 billion suit on Guaranty Trust Bank for what it had suffered in monetary terms and reputational terms during the months when the accounts of its companies in all Nigerian banks were frozen. With Innoson winning both cases at the High Court and both cases at the Appeal Court, and GTB appealing, both cases are awaiting the verdict of the Supreme Court. Meanwhile the fresh N30 billion naira suit has just gone to the High Court to start its legal journey

This case is going messy against GTbank. Pls, what is your opinion on this. Innosson group has court judgement in the tune of billions of naira against GTbank which could push them file for bankruptcy. They are using intrumentality of the state (Efcc) to see how they can undermine the case.

Obasanjo created the opportunity for our parents or grandparents to become shareholders, through the indegenisation policy he introduced in the 70s .

This policy mandated all foreign owned companies to sell 60% of the shares in those companies to Nigerians. The government even gave loans to Nigeria workers to buy shares in some blue chip companies.

Unfortunately when Obasanjo came back in 1990, he changed and even allowed 100% ownership of businesses by Nigerians.

And finance cost, administrative and distribution expenses ,all jumped up by almost 100% from q1 to q2.. .
Do you think that spike in finance cost, administrative cost and others are things to worry about because I believe that in the view of their aggressive marketing, increase products production and distribution which result is their superlative performance in all financial variables. Naturally there will be increase in production expense as a consequence of aggressive production, i think it is a clear economic reality.

Both are good stocks to hold.
.We are coming out of recession.
.sugar and wheat are still selling at low price at the global market.
.Dangote can still source dollars at a relative cheaper rate.

I am though more bullish about DS than GF as there are one or two things I am not comfortable with in DF q2 result.
Both stocks are wonderful with alot of inherent and hidden values. Dangote companies are very good and well managed but I have observed that they are highly inertia in price fluctuations and volatility hence making it highly recommendable for investors not traders as exemplified by Pa.Ewumi. grin.

There is nothing to argue about whether penny or blue-chip stocks...Everybody should stick to what floats their boat, period!

As an investor, three factors are critical that you must know;

1. Objective- what is your investment objective? Why are you investing in either capital or money market. This will also influence your return objective.

2. Risk Identity- where do you stand when it comes to risk? Are you a risk seeker, risk averse or risk neutral. Any of this will influence your objective, investment strategy and horizon...Yours truly belongs to the first category grin

3. Exit Strategy- there is nothing like methuselah in investment. Set your harvest period regardless of your investment horizon and emotional attachment to a stock. Be ready to follow trends, analyse and evaluate economic conditions, and carryout top-down and bottom-up analysis as vital ingredients to taking sound decision on your portfolio.

TGIF.
Cadbury plc can be adduced as a good case study here.
