connect2danny: Hello house, A friend of mine was recently admitted for a masters program to czech university of life science CULS, and I need someone in the house to clarify us on: 1. How can he do the translation of documents to czech language here in Abuja
2. Must the tuition fees be paid before going to the embassy
3. What minimum balance should be on his bank statement (are the embassy officials concerned about cash flow, because he wants to just lodge like 800k and immediately print out the bank statement).
4. Which of the hospitals can provide the medical certificate.
Thanks this was posted on 22nd of June.....what a conundrum. |

Trunaijian: Am sorry about that. I also experienced similar case sometime last week. I made a transfer and was charged about three hundred naira since I opted for instant transfer on Friday. When I left the bank I confidently called the recipient to inform him. He didn't get it untill Monday morning. If I had to be charged for instant transfer and he gets the money 3 days later what is the "instant" for then? . Access make Una take Una time o! this case is a serious one because the fund is urgently needed in Abuja. Pls do u know any channel of communication I can use apart again? |

Yes,i am in Prague now.Job prospects here is not too bad according to my findings on ground.the only barrier is language but if you are lucky you will definitely get one.their are a lot of multinational companies here that employ English speaking students.i have not started looking for job yet, their academic curriculum is so tedious you will need to make a good grade in first semester before you can start hustling else once you fail twice you will be ejected out of school.
I hope that helps. I have an appointment to submit my application for student visa on 6th of August....can u help me with likely questions and other tips? |

Futurewiser: I CONCURR. i am in Germany so it is true that learning German is easier in naija than here WHY: Bcause in Naija you are taught with English. e.g They will tell you Orangen shaft means orange juice. But here they tell you orangen shaft and does not tell you what it means in English so you get lost. Why? There are different people with different laguages learning it in same class with you. e.g french speakers, spanish. brazil, italian etc. other reason? Your german teacher here does not speak English. wooow |

dcitizen: @stoicism,
I will advise you to write the school and explain your plight in details to it. School knows that there are possibility of delay for visa issuance and the school may prepare for such possibility.
How do you ger your document translated into czech and how much is the cost per page?also, how do you get the medical certificate and at what cost? I am anxiously awaiting your response the school has agreed to delay my enrollment till mid October. My major concern now is that I am I have written the embassy since 14th of this month and they are yet to give me a date for the appointment. I have emailed them several times to enquire about the date but they have remained taciturn. I sent out a number of emails to several translation agency, I got their various quote and decided on the cheapest one. I did a normal-ordinary translation and took it to the embassy for legalization (I had the translator do the translation on their headed paper and send a scanned copy to my email...this reduced the over all cost and processing time). The cost of translation was €16 (For both medical report and criminal character record) and the embassy legalized it for like N4800 for each doc. I got my medical report in a state hospital for N2000. which stage are you now? Have you gotten an appntment....its better you email the embassy for appointment even when all your docs aren't ready. I have been waiting for a date for 2 weeks now. |

Bros people are learning and can learn languages on their own or with very little support. I am a near native speaker of a language I learnt almost totally on my own. Just saying.. victz: Bros, Know it today that no matter how brilliant you are you cannot teach yourself when it comes to learning a foreign language that is completely new to you. Even some of us that had the opportunity to attend Goethe one time or the other still find it difficult learning the language on our own. Most of our teachers at Goethe institute used to tell us back then that it is easier to learn German in Nigeria than learning it in Germany, but up till today I still believe that the statement is false. The reason is this; Our German starts at Goethe and ends in Goethe when we get home we have no one to speak with us. Even in the office we have no one to speak with us. So learning German in an English speaking environment was a challenge to me. I don't know about others. There is nothing like learning German in a German speaking environment. And again academic brilliance does not transcend German language brilliance. Some people may not be that gifted academically but may be very good in language learning. While some maybe very brilliant academically but may not be that good when it comes to language learning. My own conclusion on this issue if for you to attend Goethe institute or any other private language school if you still have the time. Self study can never be the same as leaning the language from those who knows how to write and speak the language. |

Dear all, my sponsor sent me the screen shot of his appointment for the sponsorship letter. My concern is the part of "undertaking for short-term stay". Please gurus in the house is everything alright with that since I will be applying for visa to study. Itsnt that I doubt his honesty (I have known him for years) but just need to be sure he didn't make a mistake since he's doing this for the first time.
