Damn. We can't rule out fuel shortage. It was meant to land at NAF base but changed destination to kaduna airport. Seems it was flying around the airport waiting for clearance to land through the storm. It might had run out of fuel or engine failure. There are just too many pieces of this puzzle |

EricBraven: What if it went of the run way, after landing It didn't. It crashed land after an attempted landing on the runway. It didn't even touched down. I swear. I would only fly turboprop during basic flight training. Those things are really vulnerable during storms, bird strikes e.t.c. The exposed propellers makes it too vulnerable |

I don't think the pilots are to be blamed. No one is talking about ground control. That plane landed off the runway. Don't we have runway lights to guide planes during storms? Blame ground control |

jpphilips: Boro's 1000 men Brigade under the 3rd Marine commando started as a militia called the "Sea school boys", they were all part of the original struggle to liberate Niger delta from Eastern region due to domination of igbos, the same problem Bendel people had in Western region that led to the birth of the midwestern region. Sea School Boys today will qualify as Civillian JTF, but immediately they started recording successes in battle, Nigeria federal forces quickly promoted Boro to Major then christened the Sea side boys "16 brigade" with no military training according to Obasanjo in his book "My command"
Yhh. 70% corrrct. But they had military training. Read the tragedy of victory by brig. Gen alabi isama. My command by Gemeral Obasanjo got alot of falsehood. Obasanjo joined the war late. |

JOSCOFELIX: intel reaching me. the nigeria sf and army on a strike mission starting from friday to sunday came under heavy fire from iswap , the gallant officer repelled the attack and killed almost all the fighter, the gallant officer took another mission and attack a iswap location killing more, another good news from samba axis but not clarified yet. nigeria men advancing to gumbumil in gudzmala came under ambush from iswap the gallant officer fought their way killing the iswap fighter ,sadly three solider went down. the number of iswap and bh that died a yearly are much more than the men of the nigeria army, calculate from air interdiction, artillery strike, mortal strike direct combat and more and you will see that bh ansd iswap loss more fighter than the Nigeria army Comical |

jpphilips: 3rd marine commandos that performed the first Amphibious landing in Africa, was victorious in operation tiger claw which successfully blockaded the Biafrans from the Sea, was commanded by Benjamin Adekunle the Black Scorpion, he decimated Major Ogbo Orji of the Biafran army & further led an incursion to Bonny & Opobo for a total Water Blockade.
Adekunle was later redeployed to DHQ Lagos when Ojukwu distracted the blockade by making a desperate land incursion to Ore through Benin, his task as he was told was to protect Lagos, Before then he had terribly lost in the first battle of Owerri (the last capital of Biafra), Operation OAU where his men were brutally crushed by Kalu & Joe Achuzie, two formidable Biafran commanders.
two years later, command of the 3rd marine commandos went to Olusegun Obasanjo who returned to Owerri in the final days of the war & dealt a severe blow on Kalu & Achuzie leading to the surrender of the Biafran forces by their 2nd in Command Gen. Affiong, understandably because the Coward Ojukwu had taken to his heels through Uli improvised airport.
Ardent historians of the Nigerian civil war unanimously agree the 3rd marine commando was the Bulwark of the Nigerian federal forces.
There was no time Adaka boro commanded the 3rd marine commando, never!! Hmmm. Did i say he commanded the division? He commanded a brigade. I forgort the brigade number. |

truthshots3: In the civil war, the army was flooded with northerners. Fact. I am nit even going to debate your silly story. 1st division was 50% hausa extraction. 2nd and 3rd division were really mixed. Infact majority of Nigerian army recruits during the war were from benue and the minority tribes |

ugo4u: Don't mind him he chose to use a special case to make his point, even during the civil war the Nigerian army made Adaka Boro a Major and recruited 1000 Ijaws and deployed them in the riverine areas because of their experience in the terrain. Absolutely correct. But they were 2000+. They formed a swimming school at 3rd marine commmando division occupation area. Issac boro's men were even involved in the invasion of mainland portharcourt in 1968!. His men were superb. Infact, they were called special forces. They were our first special forces |

Regardless of my arguments in favour of Nigerian troops facing the insurgency, i do know we have good and bad officers and men, but i don't support cowardice done by some our soldiers. I am a student of Colonel. Achuzie, General Patton and Brig. Gen Adekunle. These are officers that have fought tough war of attrition. These officers set high standards for their men. In as much as we see a soldier as a human, a soldier mentality, teaches a soldier that he is superior to the enemy and a first class citizen |

truthshots3: The civilian jtf from borno who were rushed into the army without having to compete with the rest of the country, how does that fit into your narrative ?
Also don't take things too litteraly, you are talking like a 20 year old kid right now.
People like you feel they need to defend the nigerian army for whatever reason, the stupidity of your youthful condition might be one of the reasons.
The nigerian army recruitment process is lopsided in favor of the north, face reality.
By the way I dont live in a 3rd world country. But I still remember as a kid when going through my fathers military papers all the names of the people signing them were arabic, even as a kid I found it very strange. Members of the Borno CJTF were recruited because the terrain were peculiar to them. You must understand that some of those members, were sent to the depot at kaduna for basic military training and later redeployed to the theatre of war. We talked about experience. The army is trying to get experienced hands on deck |

truthshots3: If a soldier can't apply his training in the heat of battle then he is in the wrong profession and he should resign or be sacked. I see it like being a boxer which I was at a time, you train on technics and in the heat of battle you apply your technics, your strategy... that is what makes you a real fighter. A soldier is firstly human. Boxing is a game. Once you at the back of that ak 47, you decide to live or die in seconds |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Stormtrooper11(m): 10:04pm On May 15, 2021 |
truthshots3: One of the reasons is the quality of recruits. In the usa they recruit people based on the peoples abilities whereas in nigeria, tribe is a factor, quality is sacrificed in the name of tribal interests: eg a guy with a masters degree from the south might be declared not qualified for a post which would eventually be given to a guy with school cert from bauchi.
I remember GEJ had put in place policies to promote officers with a higher educational background. As soon as buhari moved in, he discarded that program and demoted the officers who had gained from it. I know we have poor recruits. Nepotism and tribalism. But soldiering is a unique profession. Its not dictated by educational background. Its just like football. Its about your technical gifts. Your brain. Your physical strength. How you use it for your advantage. How you use it to protect yourself and defeat the enemy. P. S. I don't support Nepotism and bad policies |

Stephandesward: Truly war is chaos, probing attacks or just hit and run , wouldn't faze most officers, to get a real picture or an almost real picture watch "Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan" and the outpost....at least they tried to be realistic True. You rehearse tactics, battle plans countless time before it happens. But when it happens, those tactics disappear until sometimes when you already losing it. War is a bitch |

I have watched videos of Nigerian army troops being ambushed. I have also watched videos of American army/marine troops being ambushed. There is one major clear difference. *COORDINATION. The latter have a more coordinated response. You can easily identify who is directing orders to reply Enemy fire. Some Nigerian Army videos show coordination. Especially videos from a source on twitter called G1abbakar. We need to be coordinated. I also watch an American Army(U. S AFRICOM) training/exercise with a Nigerian Army company. The U. S instructors kept stressing coordination. We weren't coordinated in offensive in the early stages of the exercise. We need to address and solve this problem |
