ugo4u: No even call Sarham if you're accusing this present COAS of misconduct. It was under his watch in River state we saw soldiers shamefully meddling into the Governorship/Presidential elections. Infact he was removed because of the controversies it generated. This present COAS is competent to occupy that seat. Okay |

Whyem15: This is the major problem I have with his appointment as the COAS, I would have loved someone from either Armour, Artillery or Signals with experience in intelligence to have bee selected. Our approach to this war needs to shift from majorly relying on infantry to other things.
I cannot discuss the speculation/allegations of corruption, if those alleging him have evidence, they can sue him or raise it during the senate confirmation process. Our immediate past CDS was from the Army signals. I just want a smart tactician. Someone with guts. I don't really know much about the incoming COAS. I agree with you on changing our approach in the COIN war. If i was C-in-C, i won't appoint someone with corruption allegations. Maj-Gen Sarham was the best man for the job. Remember 2019 elections, when he was GOC 6 division in Rivers state. How he exposed the massive inappropriate electoral practices by the parties. |

Whyem15: Ezeogwu is of RC 37 too. Ahanotu was Attahiru's senior at some point, he is originally of RC 34, don't know what happened that made him become RC 35. Being originally of RC 34 could be the reason for not choosing him, the COAS can't be mates with the CDS who is also of RC 34.
Buratai was RC 29, the new COAS is of RC 37, almost 10 courses apart! Its too wide. Hope this guy bring his infantry tactics to bear. Seems the incoming COAS has corruption allegations against him |

Whyem15: Apologies..... Mistook Sarham for Ali keffi. Sarham is of RC 35 and was a contender. He may have to retire now or move to DHQ. Seriously, i don't like this selection. Maj gen Yahya is of 37rc. We skipped at least 15 Generals. They might retire Sarham. Look at Maj Gen Ahanaotu for heaven sakes. That is a very high ranking and experienced officer. Look at Maj. Gen Ezugwu too. Anyways they have their reasons. |

Does he have good antecedents? I saw what he did at the academy. That man has balls. I feel he would had instill discipline amongst our troops. He is all about discipline and professionalism. |

Blueelf: Improper training fr all pur nation's security personnel are eveudent.
From the army, to the navy and Airforce (except a handful special forces and fighter pilot s), they just lack proper training.
That's what you get when your focus is on planting heads for six months in a rotten place they call depot and beating your chest like it's a normal thing. Tactics? Zero, Movement? Zero, arms? 18th century...
If anybody must quote me and does so with snide remarks and insults, that person will get an earful that he/she will wish he/she was never born. I'm not in a good mood today.. Call down bro. I understand. The situation is really disheartening and bad. I don't know why they expect so much from officers when the men are unproductive. E no balance. We don't even have a mentality. We lack value and respect for NCOs in Nigeria. We use them as cannon fodder |

Whyem15: The alpha jet is the workhorse of the NAF, in the course the 11 years insurgency, they've flown several thousand hours. How long until these few aircrafts reach their service span limit? What if they've actually passed it? Same as the beechcrafts.
Before now, we've had very little crash in the 11 years insurgency. If these series of crashes are due to poor maintenance culture, does that mean the lack of incidents in the last few years have been due to luck?
NAF pilots have one of the longest flight experience and training in Africa. So poor training is out of it. If it were training, we would have lost more than 10 within a year considering how frequently they fly. We were all here when former CAS abubakar was maintaining our aircrafts. This is not maintenance related. It was an accident |
