It's legit. You just have to bid with sense. You can use up 50 bids to score a 1000 naira airtime. Or use 10 bids to score an iPhone 12. You don't have to bid every second now. Use your sense |

(CNN) An independent autopsy called George Floyd's death a homicide and determined he died of "asphyxiation from sustained pressure" -- a finding that is at odds with the medical examiner. The autopsy commissioned by Floyd's family says compression to the neck and back, caused by officers kneeling on him, led to a lack of blood flow to the brain. A look at why ex-police officer Derek Chauvin is charged with third-degree murder A look at why ex-police officer Derek Chauvin is charged with third-degree murder Floyd was essentially "dead on the scene" in Minneapolis on May 25, Ben Crump, attorney for the family, said Monday. Multiple videos of Floyd's death show former police officer Derek Chauvin's knee on Floyd's neck, along with other officers kneeling on his back. CNN reached out to Hennepin County officials for comment. Hennepin County medical examiner says Floyd didn't suffocate The independent autopsy's findings came after the Hennepin County Medical Examiner found "no physical findings" to "support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation," according to a criminal complaint released by the Hennepin County Attorney's Office on Friday. Preliminary autopsy results cited in the complaint involving Chauvin said combined effects of being restrained, any potential intoxicants in Floyd's system and his underlying health issues, including heart disease, probably contributed to the man's death. Toxicology results can take weeks. Three videos piece together the final moments of George Floyd's life Three videos piece together the final moments of George Floyd's life The complaint noted the findings are preliminary and the full report from the medical examiner is pending. Dr. Michael Baden, one of the independent medical examiners, said "there is no other health issue that could cause or contribute to the death." "Police have this false impression that if you can talk, you can breathe. That's not true," Baden said. Floyd's cause and manner of death remain pending and is being investigated by local, state and federal law enforcement, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office said in a statement. "George died because he needed a breath. He needed a breath of air," Crump told reporters. Attorney calling for charges against all officers Chauvin had his knee on Floyd's neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds in total and two minutes and 53 seconds after Floyd was unresponsive, according to the criminal complaint against Chauvin. Floyd was dead within four minutes after he was held to the ground, the independent examiners said. The fired officer has been charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. Crump said he should be charged with first-degree murder. Why the three other officers in George Floyd's death have not been charged -- yet Why the three other officers in George Floyd's death have not been charged -- yet The other three officers seen in the video have been fired, but not charged. Floyd family attorney Antonio Romanucci said the three "need to be charged criminally" since, he said, "they knew what they were doing could cause death." A homicide is the death of a person caused directly by another person. It includes murder and manslaughter. In order to be culpable, you only need to know that what you're doing could cause death, Romanucci said. "They knew they were employing restraints that could or might cause death," he said. Was the market constructed in a way to make it fire proof. What you see in Nigerian market are overcrowded interlocking shops with dangerously exposed bands of electrical wires running from shops to shops with no preventive measures against fire hazards. One fire extinguisher you won't find. Nigeria markets are just disasters waiting to happen. What a loss |

TOKYO: Japan dived into its first recession since 2015, according to official data Monday (May 18), with the world's third-largest economy contracting by 0.9 per cent in the first quarter as it wrestles with the fallout from COVID-19. The drop in gross domestic product followed a 1.9-per cent decline in the fourth quarter of 2019 as a tax hike and typhoons hit Japan hard – even before the pandemic shut down much of the economy. A recession is defined as two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth and some analysts predicted the Japanese economy would suffer worse as the effects of the coronavirus become clear. "We expect the worst is yet to come, with the state of emergency in Japan and the severity of the pandemic among Western nations continuing to derail the Japanese economy," said Naoya Oshikubo, senior economist at SuMi TRUST. Nevertheless, the first-quarter result was slightly better than economists had forecast, with expectations for a 1.1-per cent decline. Japan has been hit less hard than most advanced economies by the coronavirus, with just over 16,000 cases in the whole country and around 750 deaths. However, authorities were concerned there could be an explosive spike – especially in the densely populated capital Tokyo – and urged people to stay indoors and businesses to shut down. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe declared a state of emergency that was lifted last week for most of the country but kept in place for economic powerhouse regions Tokyo and Osaka. "Personal consumption has been the main casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic as consumer spending has been greatly affected by this due to people staying at home," Oshikubo said. "But uncertainty stemming from the spread of the virus has also hit private capital investment as companies curtail their expenditure programmes," added the expert. "SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE" In an attempt to mitigate the worst effects of the crisis, Abe has pledged to give every citizen a cash handout of ¥100,000 (US$930). The handout was part of a package of stimulus measures worth around US$1 trillion to protect jobs, bolster the medical sector and ease the pain for working families. Tourism has dropped by as much as 90 per cent, industry and trade have ground to a halt and the virus also forced the postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics that was seen as providing a boost to the economy. According to the details of the GDP report, private consumption dropped 0.7 per cent quarter-on-quarter, with both household consumption and corporate investment slipping 0.8 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively. But as the coronavirus pandemic battered the global economy, Japanese exports were the hardest hit, falling by six per cent compared to the previous quarter. The full impact of the coronavirus on Japan's economy has yet to be felt and economists are bracing for a catastrophic second quarter. Oshikubo said his organisation was forecasting an eyewatering 10.2-per cent plunge in the second quarter, which would be the worst since the 2008 financial crisis. Yoshiki Shinke, chief economist at Dai-ichi Life Research Institute, told AFP the second quarter would be "significantly worse," forecasting a decline of around six to seven per cent. "As to the question of when the economy will pick up, it all depends on the number of infected and when the virus fades out."
