I have been in Nigeria for quite a while and it beats me how a people can be so insensitive, attention seeking and never know when to give up.

Oby Ezekwesili is one woman who has had her chance to build Nigeria, how much she was able to impact on the polity is a topic for another day.

She obviously, like most of us, wanted to hold on and remain in the political space and especially considering the fact that her party [/b]was still in power. But Uncle Joe wouldn't have any of that and that explains her fighting from the other side (very understandable)

Our lives are not lived on the TV and might not worth anything to her other than a veiled advocacy which of course would be belated. So we choose our hero who made sure nothing happened to us.

After the conduct of the Presidential Elections, a lot of us, Corp Members, Market women, Christians living in the north (even where they are majority) slept with our eyes open, looked back with every step thrown, left our known residents, closed down our businesses, avoided a lot of places, vowed not to be part of of the elections anymore due to the obvious danger should GEJ do what Oby and those she worked for do just to win an election.

Our lives were in danger, our investments stood the risk of being torched by irate un enlightened followers who do not understand. How a democracy works.

But this man decided not to let all these happen, he didn't use the tools at his disposal to ensure he remains there and when he lost, he didn't cry on national TV wiping up sentiments and threatening to bring down the heavens, he didn't wait for people to act first and cause mayhem which off course would have been replied, he acted first.

He conceded defeat and on time, no protests that would have led to the loss of lives, all the fears were allayed and the known violence that would have followed if the result turned the other way averted.

So GEJ is my hero, and that of a thousand folks whose being and well-being were threatened.
He doesn't have to be yours given that you were made irrelevant in his government, he doesn't have to be yours since your loyalty unquestionably lies the other way, he just doesn't have to be your hero but don't tell us whom our hero should be.

(1) You say you are proud that the SE supported the "minority" ijaw until the end, in spite of pressure to support the "majority"
Well, that is unfortunate because a choice of who to support to lead a country should never be about what region he comes from. This has to stop. If the SE supported GEj because they truly believed he was a better candidate, that's fine. If they however voted for him because they felt the urge to support a brother (even when they know his performance was poor) then that's sad. The same way it is sad for Northerners who voted for Buhari simply because he is from the North.

(2) Yes indeed I am pleasantly surprised that EUROBOMBER wrote this. most of what he put out during the campaign were quite bad (putting it mildly) as was a vast majority of the GEJ supporters.
Both sides were guilty but the MUDSLINGING on the GEJ side was arguably more. From FFK down to the nairaland foot soldiers. That's in the past and I won't rehash it but it should be a lesson that that should never be a way to campaign. You lost votes for GEJ! Hopefully, we will never go down that path.

On a certain day, I was approached by someone to jettison supporting Buhari and switch to Jonathan. The promise of an Aide to a cabinet minister was made. It was a good offer but I rejected it and maintained my support for Buhari. In the spirit of brotherhood I informed Rawani, Berem and some other people. The person that tabled it was a friend and he was even shocked. He had believed APC had been paying me. That was months before my defection. I find it irritating when people like Rawani used it as a basis. Even when I defected, the guy that ade the offer was wondering why I did moved to PDP finally. I told him that it wasn't connected with his offer.

After my defection to PDP, I was offered some stuff by a PDP Representative for my voluntary support to their course, this again I rejected outrightly. Though I maintained my support.

I was also approached by someone who told me the goodies I had missed for defecting to PDP. In fact, he had asked me to immediately retrace my step so as not to miss out on what is prepared for me. He kept on with that because he thought that I should reap from the #Buhari camp after my contributions, all these I declined to his amazement. The week of the election, he still tabled it but I declined.

It becomes shameful for someone like Rawani to assume that I did what I did for so-called Ministerial aide appointment. I know the stuff I'm made of and I don't accept what I don't believe in. If I had wanted to accept the offer I wouldn't have told Rawani or anyone else. I'm not not stupid. I had considered Rawani to be a friend and had lots of conversation with him. It is a shame that he and others will use my sincere words against me.

I would have mentioned names of the people involved but for respect of their privacy and not to drag them into unnecessary controversy, I will rather keep them anonymous.

Let me reiterate that my defection to PDP is unconnected with any offer whether monetary or otherwise.

If Rawani's accusation are truth, may God not grant me any fortune in real life. But if they are false, may God not grant Rawani and all my accusers happiness and fortunes in life.

PDP wins SS with 60 - 70 % turn out (lol), reports of irregularities by observers and NO RESULT SHEETS seen in rivers state (for e.g.).

3) You refer to fayemi's case. After Fayemi CONCEDED defeat, it was stupid of the APC to challenge the result again. Except fayemi explicitly withdrew the concession. Apparently your GEj has replicated that stupidity in a space of HOURS!! And guess what, you are defending him.
