Conner44: First Pic is the location of your IAT sensor.
Second is the scan codes description
Third and fourth are your components locations. There is no issue with my IAT sensor which you encircled in red. Could you please send me a pictorial location as you did above of my upstream O2 sensor? |

Conner44: If you look behind your engine, at the part facing the firewall you’d see a metal covering over your exhaust manifold. Your AF sensor is under that pan. If you have a space on your O2 sensor socket and a sensor plugged in but with nowhere to link it to under your front passenger seat then I believe that part of your harness is either hidden (wires bent back/way from where it’s supposed to pop out from) or lost (cut off by a prior auto electrician).
So try to go under your passenger seat with a flashlight and a flat screwdriver, push your passenger seat all the way forward, loosen the single plastic floor carpet fastener, pull back the carpet and look around very carefully. The main harness port where you are supposed to plug in your O2 sensor runs from under that chair towards the handbrake/gear lever part of your car and then straight ahead to the brain box.
You can try doing the checking at night when your eyes can focus well with your flashlight. You would see the plug for your present O2 sensor dangling somewhere under there then look around for the main harness port. Go on YouTube and watch how to plug in the sensor for your car and you’d see everything you need to know. Thank you very much for this. |

Conner44: Okay that’s settled. If you haven’t changed the brain box of the car before then you should be having emissions malfunction codes if you’re driving with only one sensor. There should be the AF sensor on your exhaust manifold and the O2 sensor at the catalyst part of your exhaust pipe. Have you scanned the car already? Which of the sensors is missing? The 02 sensor on the catalyst part is present but the rewire said the socket under the drivers seat is missing. Will scan the car for missing sensors (Like AF sensor) when I come back from church. Yesterday's scan threw codes P0135 and P141. |

Conner44: Can I ask how you know for sure that it’s a sulev engine? The sulevs are supposed to have an extra o2 sensor and a different type of catalyst. Sulev was written on the side glass. |

@luvinhubby, My rewire says my car doesn't use upstream O2 sensor. It only has one as fitted from the factory. He is the second rewire to say this. Could this be true?

nacozee: Gurus in the house. My 2010 Toyota Venza V6 averages 12mpg on intercity driving. Is this low for the mileage. I feel it is, and please what could be causing this low mileage.
What can I do to increase it. Really appreciate answers Below are the specs for your car Your city driving should be 18mpg. Your Highway driving should be 25mpg Combined driving should be 21mpg. I advise you scan your car and post the error codes here. A number of factors could cause high mileage but let's not do guesswork. |

temi4fash: Please I need help... The D light of my Honda city is blinking and I got it scanned and it showed P1887.
The oil is gauged and I use CVT oil for it. Please what can I do?? If your vehicle has a P1887 DTC, it means that the switch that lets the ECU know the TCC clutch/torque converter clutch is no longer engaged, is not responding properly. If this happens, the engine and transmission will not function properly together. Which means performance could suffer and safety could be affected. I suggest you Change your speed sensor. |

Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Structuralman: 9:15am On Sep 12, 2021 |
petrusevents: Pls can someone give vivid explanation of these codes.
The car consumes so much fuel lately Both your upstream and downstream oxygen sensors are malfunctioning. Hence the reason for your cars high fuel consumption. O2 sensors are responsible for the air:fuel ratio of your car to measure the mixture of fuel to air burned. I was told that full synthetic oil may not be good for high mileage cars. How true is this? You didn't specify the car you drive. You also didn't specify the oil you used before or the oil the previous owner used. With these info we can advice you accordingly. |
