Politics › Re: Fuel Scarcity: Have We Been Truly Scammed By The APC? By Audu Bulama Bukarti by StudyCrestLtd: 3:45pm On Dec 12, 2017 |
9jakohai: There is no scam.
Just Nigerians refusal to face reality.
The truth is, most Nigerians don't want to pay high for fuel. They want govt to subsidize fuel...
Which is what PMB is doing. All this 145 naira is partial removal of subsidy. It is the same thing GEJ, and OBJ and Co have done.
Meanwhile, cost of importing fuel is 142 per liter. We import 50million liters of PMS daily, and produce less than 18 million PMS daily at home.
Oil price has fallen, from 120 in 2013 to 64 today, and somehow Nigerians expect govt to find money to knock down fuel to 97naira per liter.
Even when oil was high, we wasted billions subsidize fuel, that we could have used to do things like increase refining capacity at home. (See why GEJ could not build refineries).
Nigerians should stop deceiving themselves and embrace deregulation. Yes, fuel will cost 200 per liter initially. Yes, poor people will suffer. But investors will come, and eventually, due to competition, prices will fall.
Time we stopped deceiving ourselves. Oil subsidy must go. So that we can have money forbetter things. Must we import? Let's start having enough local production. We keep enslaving ourselves and will go to USA and be shouting Blacklives Matters. Why can't it matter here on our soil. |

enlady: I am disappointed at all so called activists that called for mass protests in January 2012. All of them have gone deaf and dumb now. How can we queue for fuel at N87 and also queue at N145? This is not the change Buhari and his cohorts promised Nigerians. Until Nigerians start facing the truth. This is a country where we all want to reap without working. Until everyone starts living a fair life. Happenings like this are simply because there are constant saboteurs who will always want to benefit inappropriately. Let PMS be sold for 300NGN today, if queue do day, e go dey, Let it be sold for 12NGN, if queue go dey, e go dey. What a nature of people we are. The only approach that can reduce the cost of fuel and guarantee regular supply thereby eradicating scarcity is over sufficient local production less thieves. |

Topccy007: This is awesome..... The government should please support this innovation since they can't give us electricity. Tired of buying fuel abeg. The problem in this country is that everyone expects our irresponsible government to come to their aid. Let the inventors do more to brand their product, convince their potential customers and generate more money to develop. Government, Government, wetin |

luvinhubby: Which perennial problem? 5yrs of GEJ witnessed no fuel queues despite selling fuel at ₦97
Nigerians last started experiencing fuel queues September 2015 till around March 2016 when Buhari increased pump price of fuel to ₦145 & we are still experiencing fuel queues with it. Truth be told. Some groups are sabotaging for personal gains. |

asuustrike2009: His parent had lost honour and respect the very day they choose to cheat their son hence it led to provocation. Judging from this fairly, what would you do if you're in his shoes? As long as I wasn't deported, I will let it pass and go back to pick up my pieces and leave them to God Almighty to judge. They are still my parents. This is a lesson for many, open a dom account and be saving your money rather than sending to someone. When you come, you do whatever you want to do. |

I have said it several times, that we do not have a political party in Nigeria but pressure groups. I voted for Buhari but not APC as I was asked at the polling booth to vote for the other contestants for I which I told them point blank that I do not know APC but wish to test the waters with Buhari's history of WAI. I am saying it again for the purpose of those fighting themselves and shouting witch hunting, there is no political party in Nigeria. Nigerians, until we start participating fully in primaries politics, we can never have the right flag bearer.
Best Regards to you all. |

webincomeplus: I had the same question running through my mind. I know of the annual rally in Sagamu.
The word "first ever" is thrown around in Nigeria with reckless abandon. Someone can just open a new private university today and still call it the "first ever" private university in Nigeria, just because there's freedom to do that. you have answered your question. A rally is different from a championship. |

Career › Re: I Need Help........i Need Educational Counselling!!!?! by StudyCrestLtd: 1:28am On Nov 21, 2017 |
dondavad: Good morning nairalanders My name is David, am 19 years old and I need some educational counseling or should I say advice from you guys. I studied mechanical engineering in a polytechnic and am currently on my one year IT during my year 1, I started having this feeling like mechanical engineering was not for me..... don't get me wrong, I was doing well academically. I even made distinction(3.52) in my ND 1 first semester, I also enjoyed some courses we did like thermo dynamics, fluid mechanics and EEC. I was not just good at any thing practical related, I was not good with tools, my hands will just start shaking if I try to work with it....... during my year 2, that's this year, I bought jamb form and choose computer science, I wrote the exam and scored 271, went for the post utme earlier this month and scored 65. am pretty sure with this score I'd gain admission into the school but now am confuse.......I don't know if this part am taking is a good one. I don't know if am should continue with my HND or I should go study computer science from year one I don't know which one has higher job prospect or chances of getting a job In Nigeria. Please I need your help with talking this huge step in my educational pursuit
#criticism is allowed Hi David, You seem lost between what your ability is and what the future holds for you which can be likened to confusion, indecision or fear of the unknown. First I would say, if you've observed that you are not good at all in tools handling, then anything engineering isn't for you. Considering your age at 19, you can start a degree all over but I must say that computer science is just an introduction to what the future holds for you as an IT pro. you need to take professional qualifications Still responding.......will be back |
