obo_man: I disagree with the OP on this matter. I used to live with a very clever P.H.D student, who was dyslexic. He is white European, and at the time was working on viruses and how they mutate.

He struggles to read, yet he got his P.H.D at just 27. Now, he is working for a Pharmaceutical firm in America.

I'm sure if the OP had given him that 'primary school' test, he might as well struggled, but should that kind of test be a prerequisite for a Job in Geology, Engineering, e.t.c?

There are many great minds that struggle with words and numbers, but should those basic and simple questions define their intellectual ability to do certain jobs?

I thINK NOT.

This is the kind of post I was looking through for.
This is higher education in superlative quality.
It shunned down completely myopic knowledge of some posters here including the originator.

You see ! Let me share somethings ! I don't want to feel like am showing off,but the truth is when I was in school way back,I found it very hard to share ideas in class,listen to some lecturers poor teaching skills,so,most times my friends would always trace my movements to the school library where I did most of my self coaching without any lecturer's cheap and sometimes confusing lectures and indeed,I never had a single 'carry-over'.

Nigerian Employers including School Authorities still lack all these potentials for differentiating innate skills and abilities from probable intelligence and disabilities.
Issues such as phobia and medical impropriety most times are often taken as total mischief in Nigerian and Employment system and no NGO or government agency still cannot intervene to help out.

Your spelling skills or mathematical inability doesn't mean you have no potentials to excel and be outstanding is just that most times to the employers and the lecturers are feeble grounded and lack the all encompassing qualities.

Dyslexia and so many other phobia are health grounds that could mar candidates quality performance both in sports and in class.

Ensure you supply candidates with calculators when you invite candidates for written tests like Mathematics even if if's a One plus one exam,it doesn't follow,you are only doing yourself and the candidate a great deal,by respecting health orders and keeping the best staff for yourself.

I would have shared more eye-opening experiences but am a little bit tired am also writing from a phone.

Never judge graduates on things as a test and if you must do,provide all necessary apparatus needed to do a better examining,sometimes,you could just be helping someone who has some of these phobia and health issues,because a lot,don't like sharing it or letting others know about them.

This is pure and true feelings of emotions coming from one of the richest man in the world.

He surely must have had a taste of our shabby and grossly corrupted Nigerian governmental system.

And I also thought someone called '' David Mark'' recently made cheap utterances about easy and lowly going Nigerians to stop making misguided and harsh remarks against the government officials.

So with this Richard Bransons statements,is this remark closely related to or can it be termed as being a positive one as against David Mark's!

Nothing inappropriate goes unseen in this era of limitless hitech communication age especially on the global and political terrain.

Nigerian government are corrupt and it is clearly visible by all even the blind and deaf can see and hear it,so what's in the big deal for anyone to say something is bad when its easily noticeable that it is.

David Mark and his cohorts should allow frustrated Nigerians vet their anger and unsatisfaction about what they and the global community can see and experience.

Richard Branson God will continue to make you bigger for spewing for the minds of affected poor Nigerians.

What would you say of this young man who dressed up smartly for last month's NIMASA interview held in Victoria Island,Lagos.
Authoritatively,he greeted us,chatted with us cheerfully, at first, while we chilled and took soft drinks under a shade-tree,directly opposite the Lagos Business School,but,on the other hand,a woman also sells, local dry gin and herbal mix under the same shade we were,this, which endeared a lot of people who loved to have a taste and sip of the local drink,while we also hibernate under the shade-tree.
And so,on that peaceful morning,this man who was seen arguing and exchanging ideas intelligently on issues surrounding the state of the nation,bordering on insecurity,joblessness amongst others while he also drank and offered kindly in the african way,a share of the local dry herbal mix,in which most of us declined equivocally,since we all knew we had all come to write an all important written test which was unnecessary to involve oneself in any drinking splendour.

And just as we were about entering for the tests after about 30 minutes later,I was astoundingly surprised to see a familiar figure lying helplessly outside the gates of The Lagos Business School,obviously dead-drunk,same person who had been chatting cheerfully with us just before we were called for the test seen looking almost unconscious in his well Plated suits and bag containing his Credentials all drenched to the tilt.
Now I had to take a glimpse and close shots of him to share and inquire from peolpe if this. Could also be as a result of frustration as a result of joblessness.
And could it also be that this young man had been drinking before coming for the test,because we could only notice him took about two filled cups of the local drink.
Or could it be that he underrated the sheer devilry effects of the local dry gin that particular Saturday morning.

I Would be glad if this is put on front page may be we could also get views from people who witnessed the story at that NIMASA Test Interview date last Month.

Its such a shame when government officials grumble online or through saying negativities about what their own citizens esp.of this great country,Nigeria.

When there several thousand other responsiblities which has been spelt out for them as JD to do !

Was it not through this same media stuff that one of the most powerful president Obama got a larger chunk of his audience as campaign strategies.

The preoblem with these set of Leaders in this country is that they are all not worthy of the positions they occupy,more reason for their corruptablities.

Am thirty dating one of the coolest,intelligent,pretty as in pweetily young damsel who is just 24.

I am in the same situation with you,buyt will not commit suicide,I have some of the best and enviable qualifications cum outstanding professional experiences with first rated blue chip companies.

But to my own dismay,I have been out of a job for the past 2 years,but still will not try suicide.

I only increased my smoking habits,I smoke close to a pack of whitye London Cigarettes almost everyday. Just hoping I'll get a call from some of the many places I had sent my C.V.

I also know that my cigarette may just kill me one day,but in God I hope and trust.

I ignore my fmr friends who may want to oppress me or take advantage of my joblessness and put my hopes in God.

When you get hit unexpectedly with sudden life short-comings,you never can tell where it may most hit you.

I got affected two years ago in a banking down-size also,but amazingly a lot of us affected took and smile knowing fully well the management's decisions were totally unjust,unfair and lawless.

I learnt a very big lesson and I wish every other person working for someone would take a heed from it,never be too comfortable working for someone even when it requires putting in your qualities,claim every little money including allowances you are entitled to while working like your life depended on it,cos your life actually would be dependant on it when the chips are down.

Take all awards,hypes,recommendations from your bosses,but endear only the ones with a monetary value with so much concern cos others are nothing but cheap lip service and valueless plaques when the chips are down.

When you work especially in banks,trust no one,even the ones that pat you when you act exceptionally,they could just be the same set who will recommend or call you a weak-link when the chips are down,never go to sleep if you are uncomfortable with any hurtful words your boss says to you,say to him or her that such should not repeat itself and send a memo on it to hour,otherwise you might just go with your hurtful feelings when heads start rolling !

When ever you get laid off,don't start unnecessary protests when you all know it will lead to nothing.

Try applying with a good heart and faith to other establishments even when the pay is not right,just ensure you prove on your qualities and I can assure you better opportunities may arise or you could also miraculously rediscover yourself.

@ the poster,I just hope you may understand,but I pray that the laid off staff would gather more strength to move on,because Nigerian banking system doesn't work and mostly a pitiful and fake human capital models.

If you are still in doubt,I'll put a test to surmount your doubts now,and I hope I just get people to respond or my MOD's would a raise a topic in support of my point.

Watch how many respond you'll get.
