Sambisa Forest is twice the size of Israel" - Peter Obi

Later reports put the size of the game reserve at 518 square kilometers, or 686 square kilometers although some official documents included the Marguba Forest Reserve in the Sambisa Game Reserve.

The total area of the State of Israel is 22,145 sq.km (8,630 sq. miles), of which 21,671 sq. km is land area. Israel is some 420 km in length and about 115 km across at the widest point.

You went all about to buttress my point that the north vote based on ethno-religious sentiments while your initial claim was that it is not true that the north votes based on ethno-religious sentiments. I think we should call monikers who we know are very active in politics on this forum and ask that simple question. Even a baby should be able to answer. Does the north vote on pure performance or governance issues or on ethno-religious sentiments? Mention any moniker you know and let them give us an answer. Let me call your friend and brother fergie001 and Kyase you've been arguing with. I'm even surprised you can say that while you went about proving otherwise, and lastly, failed to mention what drives vote in the north. What do you mean by Buhari "struggled" to win 3 times in a row? Can a team struggle to win 3-0? grin grin
Look at all the names you claimed defeated other northerners. Is there a southerner among them? I already told you, and I stand by it. North vote first, pro-North, then Islam. That is why Yaradua could defeat Buhari in the North and turn the whole NW to PDP in 2007 with the exception of Zamfara. Yaradua was not as fanatical as Buhari mind you, who had claimed that he supports and will implement sharia throughout Nigeria. But Yaradua, through his family name was seen as more pro-North than Buhari. Even the Ahmadu Bello you mentioned was very pro-North and that was why he was able to lock down the North against the wishes of Awolowo who wanted to separate the Middle Belt
Go and read what I said. I said PDP was in charge of NW before 2015. I never said from 1999 to 2015. You're the one who interpreted that based on pure emotions.
Go and check the history. The only time a southerner beat a northerner in the core north was 1993 and we all know it was due to the support of the military establishment then, and not just pure political factors. It is also interesting to note that same military betrayed Abiola and the North turned against him immediately and supported the military govt headed by northerners. Do you think if it was a southerner that headed the military govt of Abacha, he would last so long and even have the effrontery to transmute to a civilian president?
On Nasarawa, it was a mistake I made. I swapped the governorship for the presidential results. The only reason you have given to claim that Tinubu will win the North is the popularity of APC there. But what I'm pointing out to you is that APC was not in charge of the North before 2015 so it is infantile to claim traditional stronghold of the North for APC. The PDP had more governors in the North than either ANPP or CPC pre-2015. It was the change tsunami led by Buhari that tilted things in APC's favour in the north. I daresay, if there was no Buhari, whatever merger they did in 2013-14 would have ultimately been an exercise in futility. That's what I'm pointing out to you.
And on the Edo matter. What exactly are you about? APC lost na grin grin I thought the Jagaban and Oshiomole would be too powerful for Obaseki who performed poorly according to you. Where you not the one shouting up apc before the elections? grin grin
Point of correction though, buhari was not voted because of ethnic or religious colouration given to him, something similar to what obi people are trying to do now was what propelled buhari in 2015 (let's not forget that he spent years building a reputation of 'mai gaskiya) plus the failures of the then fg, almost all issues that the current administration failed at, all over the nw people are tired of APC especially at the federal level while every other region suffers from one form of misadministration or the other. A dead horse is more enticing to a lot of people than APC as things stand.

FallenShitHole:
Innoson hails Ortom for purchasing 600 vehicles from its factory.

Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Limited has hailed the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom for purchasing 600 vehicles from its factory.

Cornel Osigwe, the corporate communications manager of Innoson said the governor had purchased the vehicles which was unveiled last week Thursday, for the state’s security outfit known as Community Volunteer Guards.

The governor during the unveiling had also pledged that his administration would legally procure AK-47, AK-49 and other sophisticated weapons for the group.

He said that 500 personnel drawn from the 23 local government areas of the state were recruited in the first batch.

Ortom said that his administration decided to constitute the security outfit due to the failure of federal government to disarm the fulani terrorists.

Ortom said, “Benue State has been especially targeted because of the historic episode of 1804, but also because my administration’s insistence on the Rule of Law rather than rule of terror and for always standing with my people in their refusal to surrender their land, identity and Judeo-Christian faith and values to the Islamization agenda.

“Given the fact that the Federal Government has consistently failed to disarm the Fulani terrorists who have continued to maim and kill our people at will, the State Government is going to apply for a License to legally procure AK47, AK49 and other sophisticated weapons for the Benue State Volunteers Guards to enable them tackle these murderous terrorists effectively.

“To do this effectively, the Benue State Government had approved a two-week capacity building programme for Five Hundred (500) personnel of the Community Volunteer Guards to learn some basic paramilitary aspects. The training which began on 29th June, 2022 with five hundred (500) participants drawn from the 23 Local Government Areas and the three Senatorial Districts ended on 12th July, 2022.

“A date for the Batch 2 would also be announced as soon as possible.”

Osigwe said that among the security apparatus that followed the unveiling is the display of newly acquired Innoson Vehicles, specifically the Innoson MSII.

“Innoson Vehicles appreciates the constant patronage of His Excellency Samuel Ortom who under his administration has purchased over 600 varieties of Innoson Vehicles.

“Innoson Vehicles will continue to give support services to various car servicing centers that Partner with it to service the brand of the Innoson vehicle”.

No matter the challenges, Innoson Vehicles will continue to wax stronger till it becomes one of the leading vehicle manufacturing brands in the world automobile market.

PoliticsRe: The Policy Of Stopping Food To Biafra Soldiers by SU50: 10:11pm On Aug 11, 2022
aribisala0:
During the Biafra war after months of fighting the supply of food to Biafra was restrcicted by the Nigerian government headed by Gowon.
There is argument about the details but what is not in doubt is that Biafra did not have the means to feed itself and was reliant on food supplies that passed through Nigeria.
There was some dispute between Nigeria and Biafra's Ojukwu about the flow of food.

The Ney York times reports

The Biafrans, meanwhile, rejected proposals that would have opened a land corridor into their enclave; they feared that the Nigerians would use it to invade. Biafra also rejected plans that would have let the Nigerians inspect food shipments, so that no arms slipped through; the Biafrans said they feared being poisoned by their tribal enemies.

So there was a stalemate.
The Nigerian side took the position that Biafra remained a part of Nigeria and was an internal matter so it would not allow third parties to bring in material without its consent. It feared that weapons could be supplied disguised as food.

At the start of the war there was no problem but as it got prolonged the Nigerian side raised the stakes ,stopped the flow of food which they argued was going first to the soldiers and not the vulnerable. Once the policy kicked in the war did not last for much longer and the Nigerian side was victorious

In the commentary after the war, long after Awolowo's death. Achebe wrote to blame Awolowo for this stating his belief that

"It is my impression that Chief Obafemi
Awolowo was driven by an overriding ambition for power, for himself in
particular and for the advancement of his Yoruba people in
general...Awolowo saw the dominant Igbos at the time as the obstacles to
that goal, and when the opportunity arose-the Nigeria-Biafra War-his
ambition drove him into a frenzy to go to every length to achieve his
dreams...a diabolical policy to reduce the numbers of his enemies
significantly through starvation-eliminating over two million people

According to Achebe Igbo were dominant and Awolowo decided to starve them so that the Yoruba can advance?

This belief is at the core of the psychology of virtually every Ibo person I know.
Before the war they believe they were the dominant force in Nigeria and they were taken down by Awolowo and the Yoruba.
It is their fervent hope and belief that one day they will get revenge and make the Yoruba suffer like they did.

Well on starvation , I guess the lesson should be if you are going to war next time. Make arrangements for what you will eat. It is foolish to expect your enemies to feed you
I sincerely hope that IPOB DO NOT FORGET THIS MESSAGE
I hope they will not be begging for food when Kasala bursts so that Buhari's dot in a circle prophesy is not fulfilled
My opinion. Was Nigeria right to stop the flow of food after several months of fighting? Nigeria should never have allowed it in the first place.
Achebe was a great writer, but whenever he talked Biafra, he seemed to lost it.

Festus Keyamo, the minister of state for labour and employment has rated the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, ahead of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in terms of his capacity to make decisions. Keyamo who is the presidential campaign spokesperson of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Cngress (APC) said Obi is ahead of Atiku in terms of leadership experience.

While appearing on ‘Politics Today’, a political programme on Channels TV on Friday, August 5, the minister said Tinubu is a better presidential candidate as he has the capacity to lead. He described the APC presidential candidate as a wealth creator.

“The major rival we have today has never held an executive position where he makes the final call in government. So, we cannot second guess—Atiku Abubakar has never held an executive position where he made the final call; he was the vice president, he was not the chief executive, he was never governor, he was never anything. Even Peter Obi is ahead of Atiku Abubakar,” he said. Keyamo added that the former vice president is not tested and trusted, Premium Times reports. PoliticsRe: The History Of The Fulanis Domination Over The Hausas by SU50: 10:11am On Aug 03, 2022
membranus:
This is the history of how the Fulanis subtly gain domination over the Hausas.

The historical fact will help us to actually know the contribution of British to Nigeria woe just because of their selfishness.

THE HAUSA STRUGGLE AGAINST ENSLAVEMENT
Most Sunnis and their scholars are Fulanis using Islam to keep the Hausas in perpetual bondage

1. The first charismatic Hausa leader to unite his people against Fulani overlords was a scholar by the name Abd al – Salam , another Hausa scholar by the name Dan Buya joined him. His movement started around 1818, shortly after the death of Usman Dan Fodio. At the time, almost all Hausa people lived in slave camps and over 60% of them were vassals of the Fulani feudal overlords…. Another large faction were turned to chattels and sold to the Ottoman traders. The revolt by these clerics to take back their lands started at Sokoto and spread from Sokoto to Kebbi and Zamfara. Sultan Bello was the ruler from Sokoto. He declared the leaders of the revolt as apostates. They were both defeated in battle and assassinated.

2. The Hausas were organizing for a second revolt when Lord Lugard showed up. Hoping to use his influence to sack the Fulani rulers, they enlisted en -masse into his army and formed the first battalions of the West African Frontier Force (WAFF)… Lugard betrayed them after the successful campaign and gave the land of the Hausa people back to the Emirs on the condition that the Emirs agreed to be vassals of the British. The Hausa people protested and tried to pressure him to replace them with Hausa rulers. He refused and believed that the Fulani, being a non negro race would be supposedly more intelligent people to work with in a system of indirect rule. In his journal, he wrote…. ‘The Fulani are an alien race of conquerors who had in turn been conquered. It would constitute danger to the state if they were ousted from their positions. Their intelligence enables them to appreciate more readily than the negro population the wider objects of the British policy….’

3. Shortly before independence, another charismatic ruler rose from the ranks to free his people from Fulani rule. He was also a scholar by the name Aminu Kano. He shared similar philosophies with Awolowo on socialism and emancipation of the masses. He argued that the talakawas were an exploited group in the North and swore to abolish both the emirates and privileged class known then as Masu Sarautu. His rising profile posed concern for the British and for a second time, they made laws that disenfranchised the Hausa people. They created an electoral college in the North with laws that gave the emirs the final approval of any elected member into the legislature. With this law, they silenced the voice of the talakawas championed by Aminu Kano and frustrated his revolution.

4. In the 70’s, another Hausa cleric emerged and rallied Hausa people, his name was Mohammadu Marwa, nicknamed ‘Mai Tatsine. He deviated from many of the Sunni teachings and declared himself an annabi (Hausa ruler). The title in Hausa is reserved for prophets with divine inspiration..... He swore to rid Hausa land of the Fulani elites and the nobility that exploited the local rulers for over a century. Like Aminu kano, he drew a mass following among the talakawas. His movement was violent. He had weapons smuggled into Kano for a revolution that started in December 1980….. Shagari government used the military to fight the movement and killed over 5,000 people. The group was fearless and stood their ground to the last breadth…. Major Haliru Akilu, one of the commanders sent to restore order in Kano observed that the fanatics never retreated, even when they were overpowered. They were bolder than the guerillas we read about fighting in Malaysia or in the jungles of East Asia’

Mohammed Marwa was killed shortly after the revolt . ( It was said that at death, his body did not decay and this futher inspired his followers). A More brutal successor came after him. His name was Ali Suleiman (Musa Makaniki). He led a more violent uprisings in Kaduna and the most violent of all postcolonial Hausa revolts in Yola in 1984 which left thousands of people dead and thousands more homeless. Buhari ordered a ruthless crackdown on the group in Yola that led to the death of many members. Musa Makaniki fled to Cameroon to escape death by hanging and stayed in exile for many years.

5. 6. 7. The current cleric standing for the Hausa masses is El Zakzacky. Most Sunnis and their scholars are Fulanis using Islam to keep the Hausas in perpetual bondage. SHEIK IBRAHIM ELZAKZAKY is a Hausa man, and of the Shiite Islamic sect. He is believed by the Fulani hierarchy that, if left unchecked, he can cause a major set back to Fulani domination which have lasted for more than 200 years. 9. Which is why he is being hounded by the Buhari Fulani regime.
Unlike the other previous leaders of the fight for freedom for Hausa people, El Zakzacky had western education and his movement started with intellectuals in the ranks. He finished with a first class degree in Economics at ABU but was denied his certificate. In a country where the Northerners enjoyed the privilege of a quota system, he could have lived a good life by pledging allegiance to Futa Jalon rulers…. On the contrary, he chose to stand up for the injustice done to the Hausa people for over a century. Like the cleric before him, he deviated from all Islamic laws that bound them to Alien rulers that exploited the natives to form the nobility. His struggle is not about Islamic ideals, it is about freedom for Hausa people and rejection of Fulani nobility. His rhetoric is strictly centered on it and the government they greatly influence at federal level.

The emirs are alien rulers. Like the British who left at independence, they need to vacate the Northern kingdoms and give Hausa land back to its ancestral owners who have been seeking redress for injustice done to them by the Jihad of the early 1800’s.

‘Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.’ ( John F Kennedy)

islamophobia and fatal actions against
the Northern Muslim is legendary and
with no limits.
They will initiate attacks against
muslims and because they have allies in
the dominant southern media, will
always turn around to claim victimhood
instead of being the culprits.

You will never get to hear stories of their
attacks against muslims in the biased
media until the Muslims decide to
undertake a reprisal counter attack
which is caused by lack of action by the
security agencies and government..
that's when all hell will break loose and
you will begin to read about "Unprovoked
Attacks on Defenceless Women &
Children" bla bla bla.
Millions of Northern Muslims who knoww
of the danger involved in this
arrangement of having to put our lives
and destiny for the next 8 years, into the
hands of a Northern Christian will rise
against this position, if taken..
Iwould definitely campaign against the
APC, and work towards the defeat of
APC at the polls.
Northern Muslims can never risk voting
for a Tinubu as our next president once
he commits this fatal error.
In the nearest future, no southern
presidential candidate should dare to
make the attempt of putting the destiny
of the Northern Muslims into the hands
of his Northern Christian VP!
After all, with Muslims having the
majority population in the north and in
the country, this should be a safety net
and an advantage to us rather than an
albatross.
The media would never bother to
investigate the root causes or context of
why the counter attack took place
amongst other salient and open factors,
but will push the idea that the attack was
'unprovoked'

The hatred against northern Muslims by
the inferiority complex ridden physce of
Northern Christians lasts a lifetime...it's
one that has been ingrained into their
hearts right from their homes,
communities, schools and churches etc.
This hatred continues to grow and is
expressed right from their cradle and
down to their graves.
With the present state of divisions solely
based on religion and tribe in the country
and especially in the north, Northern
Muslims would prefer to vote againsta
Tinubu once he makes the fatal error of
tagging his ticket with a Northern
Its the undoing of northerners, letting out story to be told by people clearly against anything us, white we sit by and watch hoping that at least they will adhere to the conventions of ethical journalism.

Some of us have been calling for northern Nigeria to have it's own media and propaganda arms to sell itself against unwarranted attacks by certain people. Case in point: everyone knows the nation is a yoruba newspaper, the sun an Igbo newspaper, thisday a Yoruba newspaper, the punch, tribune and lots of them carry out ethnic agendas but people have issues when daily trust reports from a sincere point of issues plaguing northern Nigeria (when the northern woman was killed in the east, none of the newspapers deemed it fit to report such - it would have been different of the opposite happened).

Take all famous books regarding the civil war and see a direct attack on the north for doing what every of the different groups would have done. Everyone has just made it his point to make the north an aggressor in all cases - deserved or not while we sit back and think people will respect ethics and conventions.

Its time we know that the people we deal with have no values, they will sell their people for any benefit that may accrue to them, it's foolish to assume these people will adhere to norms and ethics.

It's the reason why some of us are on these platforms, to raise awareness on certain issues and set records straight, we don't enjoy interacting with this illiterate horde but it needs to be done for the sake of posterity. A simple google or NL search about any topic northern from 15 years back will show you how unbalanced things are, people spew lies and try to pass them off as facts - this is going to be the history our people may one day take as genuine, made aggressors in a case where we clearly are the victim and that being passed on through generations as truth while we sit back and watch. This should end.

Why is it that, Igbo men don't engage in suya business, is there no gain in it or what? Have you seen any from anywhere?
Lol. Kbiw many suya sellers that are doing way above average. Earning more than a lot of small business owners that you guys overhype for nothing. Someone making over a 500k in sales in a month is not doing bad.

please o, where else do kanuris major outside Borno and Yobe?

And also in the north what is the percentage of kanuris to fulanis and hausas who are appendages to fulanis?

I am waiting
How silly?
I can bet you know nothing about the north to talk and talk about minorities in the north. Northern Nigeria has never been driven by ethnic agenda, of all presidents of northern extraction, only 2 are pure Fulani. Go and learn donbas.

Yoruba Muslim is the problem of this country

Frizz001:
This is actually what should agitate the minds of jagaban supporters of Yoruba extraction; that their son despite being a devout Muslim and by extension, all muslims of southern Nigeria are not to be trusted as 'true muslims'. They should be worried and in fact punish the proponents of such evil in the APC that had to impose a northern muslim again before supporting his quest for presidency.

But no, it is Obi and Igbos that are hurting them; they don't even see their own greed that after 8 years of Obasanjo presidency and another 8 of Osinbajo Vice-presidency, they are still fielding and queuing behind another Yoruba in absolute disregard of other major Southern tribes whom they should be brothers with!
So this what you call being smart? Lol.

Its thanks to you and your likes NL lost its sanity. Like WTH.

How else should they tell me

Even the biggest bigots up north are not fooled by the fake Muslim Greek gift

Gumi the Bandit sheik bigot have asked Nigerians to reject "regional leaders"

Kwankwaso not only kicked against the fake Muslim combination but choosed a pastor deliberately to make Tinubu understand that even in the north they would still prefer the combo with a pastor to a fake Muslim teaming up a kanuri minority

How many times have Buhari thaught Tinubu same lesson
You are living in alternate reality, know nothing.

They thought they will use this picture to confuse christians, but they did not know it will worsen Tinubu's case.

They How will a true muslim marry a pastor?

So if he wins, due to his age he will be weak and sleeping most of the time. So His pastor wife will be the one ruling Nigeria.
shocked have you travelled beyond your state? The ignorance is out of this world.
