Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen.
Sequel to my post yesterday where I expressed my intention to take over the responsibility of organising the annual Nairaland Nigeria Football award as requested by Icon4s this year, I'm glad to announce that the award would go ahead as planned, and I'll be coordinating it with Drklever.

Four people from this thread will join the nomination committee alongside me and Drklever, with icon4s being a honorary member.

On this note, members of the thread are to nominate 3 monikers they wish to be part of the committee. Unlike how it was previously done where we would nominate only one moniker, I suggest we nominate 3 each so as to make it more flexible and have more people nominated.
Here's how the nomination selection will be sorted;
3 points would be awarded to the first name nominated, 2 points to the second and 1 point to the last.
Example: I nominate Danielnino00, Drklever and icon4s. in this case, Danielnino00 will have 3 nomination point, Drklever will have 2 and icon4s will have 1.
At the close of the nomination process, the 4 monikers with the most points will be added to the committee. Any moniker that's selected to the committee but doesn't wish to participate for any reason whatsoever will be replaced by the another one from below the top 4.
Nomination starts now and close on Monday, December 27th 2021.

Ok let's say you don't hate Pinnick but you prefer the fraud Aminu Maigari to him, and about being Mourinho's assistant where is it written that assistant's must have the same football ideologies of their boss, Arteta was under Guardiola for many years yet had a distinct football ideology from him, Carrick was under Ole for years yet set a completely different formation on his first match, I'm not really bothered about his style of play given that he has been successful in places he has been as far as he can transfer his successes as a manager to the SE, carry on!

How did you make a guess on how a coach would play without any information about him other than his name? I tell you how you did it, it is because of your hate for Pinnick so any appointment he makes is automatically bad and there is no need to research before lambasting any potential appointment

Winning trophy does not show whether a coach is offensive or not. Many coaches play negative to win but as I say, those are short term victories and with time it will show that the team is not growing.

By the way, I said I can GUESS he is a negative coach. Note the word guess. Some of you are fond of arguing without getting the context of the discussion.

Before going out to look for a coach, the technical committee supposed to have drawn how we intend to play and the pattern should serve as the yardstick for selecting a coach.

I can Guess we are back to square one with another conservative manager.

Pinnick should have allowed Eguavoen go to the tourney.

Well it is his NFF.

What do you know about Morais to know he is a conservative manager and what do you know about Eguavoen to know he should be given the job for Afcon, well anything to have a go at Pinnick

Technique should be how you handle something. For me composure, decision, positioning making all go into style of play.

Composure, decision making all make up an individual's styles of play but styles of play are further divided into two simple and complex technique deals with the simple and basic aspects of football like trapping, controlling, passing and kicking while skill deals with the complex aspects of play like rabona and rainbow flicks

(note: Simple here does not mean easy just not multi- layered)

What Osimhen went through was a face injury not even a head injury, The guy should have been ready even before now

We have those that are poor with the ball and poor in decision making.

Leave grade we are still on the definition, technique is still on the basic tasks of football, we have differing levels of techniques from poor to outrageous but they are still based on the simple tasks of football, Pirlo has outrageous technique doesn't mean he dribbles everybody on the field it means he controls and passes the ball exceptionally well, Finito.

Technique is how you execute simple tasks, skill is how you execute difficult to ridiculous tasks, you would not find a rainbow flick under technique

You make decisions with your head and carry it out on the ball, everything a player does is on the ball technique or not is from the head, now those who define technique define as the most simple of ball tasks regardless of grade I don't know why this is hard for you to understand

You said technique is what you do with the ball but decision making is not technique, don't you make decisions with the ball though passes, back passes do you make them with your head? If you want to to reduce everything to intelligence then crosses, passes, trappings are all intelligent decisions, the people who defined technique as the most basic of the football element defined it well

Some have good trapping techniques. Some have good crossing technique. Some have good dribbling technique.

Some are better with dribbling techniques but are poor when it comes to their passing technique.

Technique is not just ability with ball, where do you put decision making, composure? Technique is simple, how well do you do the basics of football and like every other thing some players have good technique some have average or poor technique
