PurpleHouse: He was never wanted by either of them. They just noticed him (even if they've been looking from afar because they didn't see anything special initially). If they wanted him earlier they would have long got him. He was the one waiting on them. And now they have stepped forward to take him.
During those waiting times, we could have got him.
And by the way, why you come open yansh waaaah. They never wanted him indeed because na only you get eyes

komekn: Can you be objective and SUBSTANSIVE ❓
You are taking my deductions out of context. In general what people (football clubs) are prepared to pay for you is a good indicator of your quality.
Sometimes mistakes are made for a host of reasons , injuries mid season and you pay over the odds to get your player in desperation.
Pepe cost how much ? But small boy Saka has benched him . He had been unable to replicate his outstanding form in French League 1.
Manchester United paid way too much for Harry Maguire ,he is a good defender bit he has lost form and some of his handicaps have shown he isn't good enough for Manchester United . But his salary shows that he is a world class defender |

TheLoneCitizen: Why are you concluding his whole season on a single game?
Only Foden and Gabriel Jesus are involved in the immediate buildup to a goal per 90 than Mahrez. (10+ starts)
He is even higher than Bernando, who is a pre-assist merchant and KDB in the form of his live.
If you tilt towards key passes per 90, he is third at City behind only KDB and Grealish.
What else do you want from a winger? If you don't know I'm a Man city fan and I've watched almost every Mahrez match since he joined City, of course he would be behind Foden, Bernardo, Grealish and Jesus (2 of whom played sparing amounts this season) in build up play stats because he has played the most of our attackers but using the eye his city form and his Leicester form are not even close at all while in Leicester he would be a pain to the opposition ass with his dribbling and directness while Man city he is only used to stretch opposition and his dribbling doesn't work because he rarely uses them, City are now pushed to channel their attacks through the left hand side , his goal scoring exploits via City countless chance creation and penalties are good but City need more threat through the right hand side. |

TheLoneCitizen: So how come he is enjoying his best season ever? He has been enjoying his best goalscoring season but this is not his best season by any stretch if you consider his non-goal scoring stats this may be his worst season in a long time This illustration shows it, he was very much uninvolved against Man U except from two well taken goals (number 26)

mostob: i don't think so. In leceister,he was like a star along Vardy, he was their talisman. But the qualities in man city team is not allowing him to stand out. Mahrez still dey ball abeg Isn't De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Foden standing out at Man city, 15/16 Mahrez was as good if not better than most of them |

komekn: Why would you come to the conclusion that rating players by salary is pure foolishness.
At the end of the day in general quality players command higher salaries. I am not saying that should be the only consideration.
But salary is indicative, because better clubs want better players cand are prepared to pay more to get the players they want.
I agree there are cases of manipulations and over exaggeration but in general better players end up in better clubs and get paid more.
Finally, at the end of the day football is a very short term career and you need to maximize your income to the highest level possible before it's over. Players follow the money and the best players get more money . Isn't Maguire on 190k a week again? According to you he is better than Ruben Dias, Thiago Silva, Rudiger, Koulibaly |

andrewbaba44: He is getting older but he is still very good with 21 goals this season already despite the rotation at guardiola team
You are right about his 2015/16 league winning form but I won’t say he is worst , Naaaa ,the season is yet to end and he has scored more goals then he scored in their league winning season
2015/16 was prime mahrez nah Yes He has scored more goals as he is in Man city but his overall contribution to play has gotten worse with each season, defenders have found him out and he has refused to diversify his style of play but he pops up in the right positions to score goals tho, 2015/16 Mahrez will run rings around the current Mahrez |

chrisooblog: Bros you were making solid points but this last one get as e be sha. Oboabona was part of our defence that won afcon He was part of our defense as Mba was part of our midfield, is that enough reason to compare him to Balogun as far as SE is concerned? |

andrewbaba44: I have mentioned my starting 11 several times here and I have put balogun there almost all time ,so that should tell you the type of person I am
I remember also arguing with someone here who said he won’t make Brighton team ,I told the guy balogun will easily start at Brighton and he is better than their CBs ,but reverse was the case ,that alone should tell you I rate him
But saying he is our baresi or Maldini is pure cock and bull story
Now the person that doesn’t watch se here is clear ,because if you do watch our games you won’t ask me what’s oboabona accomplishment
I won’t remind you how oboabona performed at the 2014 World Cup qualifiers under the late keshi ,but I will remind you that he was superb at the defence in our 2013 afcon win ,something balogun was far from at the 2019 afcon
I would have used Kenneth omeruo as an example ,but I have a reason for using an unpopular oboabona
Too bad you weren’t watching the eagles during the time of the late keshi You are now confusing yourself I said he is our Baresi and Maldini as far as the SE is concerned anybody who says he has not been our best defender in the last 5 years is lying to himself, you are always quick to bring up Afcon because of one match against Madagascar (not because he didn't play well in other Afcon matches) but your sense would not tell you that that one match was not the only match he had for SE in his career what about the other he played and bagged match of the match awards, oh you have forgotten that ones, I shouldn't have taken you seriously the moment you started comparing him to Oboabona I should have known you were trolling. |

I will only rate bassey tops so far this season because he has been a handful at the heart of defense for rangers, aside him the next 2 are ajayi and akpoguma
Both hv been consistent in their teams when fit Balogun is Maldini and Baresi as far as SE is concerned if e choke you go and drink water |
