This is the reason I love Yoruba, we don't celebrate mediocrity. When someone from our tribe misbehave we castigate regardless of whom he is, I feel other tribe should emulate this. With that, Nigeria can move forward. I could see Igbos and Hausas bashing OBJ now without problem.
When it is other tribes turn, no one should say this is Igbos or Hausas thread, we all are Nigerians, and when we unite together, we will easily chase away our bad leaders irrespective of their tribe.
Pa OBJ, you are reaping what you sowed! |

Am proudly Yoruba. I just feel it's wrong to get all "tribalistic". At least if there's anything that have observed and learnt so far, being "tribalistic" will get us no where. I believe we will be better individuals and a country as a whole, if we break away from the views that one tribe is better than another. In reality we need to co-exist to function as one!
Also, sincere apologizes for my outburst( if u feel my words were insulting). No harm intended. You broke me down! Henceforth, I gotta fight tribalism on this forum. God bless you. |

You don't have to be abusive! Was only commenting on posts that have said that Yorubas don't have great leaders. I hate the comparison thingy but i said "only fair" and ended it with "my 2cents" (of course that's if you know what those means). Why not educate us then. Also, who are you to call one a vegetable when it comes to "great" men. I will advise you share with the house your wealth of knowledge since you seem to be "all knowing" and the next best thing after google.
Once again, my 2cents! LOL, I doubt if you are from Yoruba. Ibos are known for deception. In principle you are yoruba but practice you are ibo, so stop being an hypocrite. You did mention about being abusive, but read your post I reacted to and see if there is no abusive words there. @Ninapha: Your case is pathetic, therefore, Ignore button is activated for you! |

cooldudeng: I think it will be very wrong for us to get sentimental and tribalistic about issues. I didn't grow up in Ojukwu's time and my history is also a bit poor, but i can say authoritatively that bulk of the people that have commented on NL have either poor history as well or just myopic. In light of the several comments on NL, have done a bit digging up my self and i would say Ojukwu was a great leader. please note that am Yoruba(but really that shouldn't be an issue) so it's not like am trying to "sell" him. For a whole commercial hub like Lagos to come to an "halt" to respect him and in the presence of great men. We need no wisdom of King Solomon to know he's a great man.
Please don't compare him with Tinubu cos i believe they both :existed" at different times. It might be fair to compare him with other great men of his time (likes of Zik & Awo). For all those people that have been talking negatively about the Yorubas and not having a great leader, please read up about great Awo (Late chief Obafemi Awolowo) before commenting (it's best we educate ourselves before passing shallow comment). Even the great Dim said that Awo was the president that Nigeria never had. "he was the best President that Nigeria never had".
Just my 2cent! In Yoruba land we believe some are omo ale, I think you belong to that category Thank God you had exposed you unclothedness by showing how slowpoke you are when it comes to history. How dare you compare vegetable with Pa Awo? It is like comparing a student of JSS3 & a Bs.c holder. I can only shake my head for your source! Olodo rabata, |

At OP: I don't pray that you get a new job. This is in deed a wake up call for you if you are serious about what just befell you. One of my ex-student came to me two years ago, jubilation that he got a job at DIAMOND BANK, my first question to him was '' when will you resign''? He was shocked! If you get another job, who told you that same scenario won't happen? I don't need to divulge my private live on this forum to you, but with what you have, you can START something. Some guys have given you great ideas and I will like to mention those points again: 1. Ignore paying 300k for rent at the moment considering your present state 2.If you have not done that ''thing'' I would have suggested you ignore marriage for now, but since you had tasted it, go ahead with cut expenses. You don't even need big marriage as she is loaded already 3.Look for problem around your area or in Lagos, provide solutions, and you will smile to bank. 4.Open a thread on how to start a lucrative business with 350k, I will contribute and share a lot of insight through it.(It will be a troll sharing it on this thread) 5.Never pity yourself as that will KILL your inner man. PS: Please be careful at sending out your CV to people on NL, not everyone has sincere motive. Be WARNED!!! |

oiseworld: who inflicted suffering on you, abi wat are u saying? if u are talking about subsidy, do u have to come to nairaland to say you've never heard of the slogan "NO PAIN NO GAIN". praying for him would only help him make good decisions or advert u from evil ones, so go for prayers rather than curses. Olodo! Simple sentences you do not comprehend. Must everybody buy your nasty idea? Must everybody get paid to promote GEJ? What do you even know about the effect of the subsidy sef? Must you also pry into people's comment on NL. More curses are coming on his head and his family if he remains a nefarious ruler. |

Pray for an accursed person? How can he inflict suffering on masses and expect prayer in return? Hypocrites are saying we should not curse him. You gotta know the difference between curse and ''insult'' And mind, you, what we call insult is not insult but saying the truth in annoyance! |
