toluene12: I really dont know what the west stands to gain via supporting boko haram.
If its to control the economy, they are already doing just that. With the likes of jonathan, and iweala at abuja, they shape our govt policies e.g subsidy removal, continous pressure to devalue the naira.
If its our oil, na their companies they drill am, and na dem they control the price.
If its to destabilize nigeria and then use it as an excuse to move in and recolonize us, they had 2 opportunities in the past but they let it pass:
1. The june 12 crises in the 90s that nearly tore nigeria apart and
2. The nigerdelta crises that crippled the economy of that region and sent oil price skyrocketing worldwide.
In both cases the western powers were highly instrumental in curtailing these crises- 1. elimination of abacha and abiola, thus putting an end to june 12 2. Pressurizing obasanjo and yardua to appoint a nigerdelta to the presidency and initiating the amnesty program for the militants respectively.
IMO, the west stand to gain a lot in a stabilized nigeria and i will highlight few reasons: 1. Stable and uninterrupted supply of crude oil to the international market 2. Averting an unavoidable serious refugee crises that may arise in event of a civil insurgency- who will accomodate 170 million people 3. They need our military as infantry in their quest to establish a stronghold in africa.
There are no end to conspiracy theories, but we need to think in order to make out valid deduction.
Thank you intelligent mind, as long as Nigerian still a former British colony it will take forever for us to get it right, everything we do evolve around the west,do you have any idea how much Nigeria pay yearly to the united kingdom for the freedom they claim we have and yet colonization is still highly significant? the world is really a mess up place to be. When some people dictate what/ what not to do,how some should live and aligned border in every corner of the world just because of skin color, race superiority and inferiority complex. Until Nigeria embrace a new turn and rearrange our independence by given the colonization back to the dog, do things on our own, promote our culture, and value of hard work, honesty and humility, embrace our language to the world, independent the mind of the young, take religious less seriously.

All we need is a Unitary State.

who ever believe Abdul Murtalab the underwear bomber is a terrorist will be dumb forever. It is the US, his father a multi billionaire and former 1st bank manager got into a shady deal with the US but deal gone wrong on the regular stock exchange, African financial handicap, the western Illuminati tactic which are used to put African in hardship and crisis .

The reason why they decided to deal with him where it hurts most by labeling one of his child as terrorist and paint Nigeria on their terrorist list and inferiority agenda. Western world are known for stereotyping others, they created all kind of stereotypes for different race and hide theirs just so they can use it as reference encase you trying hard to prove them wrong. They are so greedy, inconvenient, weak and always seeking for attention when it is so obvious to the world they are the inferior race. grin

Thank you very much! I thought I was the only one that noticed that so many Nigerian new outlets---including Nairaland---post graphic pictures without warning. Furthermore, I still think it's wrong to post these pictures on a public forum, except in extreme circumstances, for no other reason than a simple gesture to the dead.
Because nigerian are obsessed with bad news and horror graphic, the reason why unprofessional, aggressive and illiterate bloggers, posters are always quick to upload gory pictures on news indicating terror attack, accident and horror because that generate more crowd and bring in cash simply because it is what an average Nigerian love to see. not knowing the horror images posted are always added to the already bad images of nigeria and the images are outstanding on search engine such as google.com, ask.com yahoo etc which are a great turn off for investors and the western world each time they search the internet about Nigeria.

have you ever try to search through the internet on nigeria? men don't even try it you will be pissed, i hope somebody can rise up to clean up those images on search engine that the desperate, illiterate aggressive bloggers have destroyed nigeria with. It is no longer the western media anymore it is now Nigerian destroying nigeria with their ignorance of internet knowledge owed to their barbaric nature.

OkparaIgbo: Some people are clearly shameless.! cheesy So hang on a minute, I should not show my disapproval on a call to Vote a Gov. for President of Nigeria because of commissioning streetlights in a state where over 80% still live in abject poverty and squalor? It is no wonder we have people in government positions taking us for a long ride.. angry Wake up Lagosians..! Wake up Nigerians.!! and begin to hold your leaders accountable, stop this fo.olish celebration of mediocrity
no sense in your post Mr man you cant call this a mediocrity as far as security challenge is concern this type of development is highly welcome this is about the security of lagosian with the outburst population from every part of the country trading on the tiny island if you want to campaign for your favorite presidential candidate kindly do so without putting others down and it beat me to the chest when you said over 80 percent lagosian are in poverty where do you get that figure?

some nigerians just keep puting their country down base on jealousy and tribal hatred i tire o. no wonder why Ghanaian and other west African country will commit a crime abroad and claimed Nigerian when they are caught because nigerian abode both animal and human and it is easier to sneak in and sneak out. .

CrimeRe: Why are some people so wicked? by successcertain: 2:24am On Feb 19, 2013
It is because of Poverty of the mind and pocket coupled with self hates. Africans are the problem of africa there is no such thing as Africa unite unless it has to do with fortune sharing which always attract many greedy, violent and aggressive souls.

The Solution is simple: Since you are well aware of African violent nature you should be the change you wish to see in africa. start a non profit organisation to help train young African children minds in your neighborhood thus encourage the interest of other people willing to join the movement . Chikene.

Nigeria government should implement similar law to combat tribal discrimination among Nigeria so the tribalist and racist nigerian could learn the hard way.

I was turned down from marrying the mrs I admired because of tribal different, her igbo parent didn't support our relationship they prefer her with igbo man. Similar things happen in all areas of nigeria.

Why are we together deceiving ourselves as nigerian when so many people are inclusive from love and unity owed to their backward and barbaric mentality? I think the politician see this as a loophole to loot the country probably the reason why they ignore it.

sweetcheecks: Ok, enough is enough. Lets just settle this bullcrap right now.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN MEN WHO ARE SUCH CRY BABIES LIKE NIGERIANS ESPECIALLY ON THIS FORUM. GEEES, I AM NOW CONVINCED THERE'S A BUNCH OF TODDLERS ON NL.

1. You can go anywhere in the world people do encounter such treatment for 1 reason or the other but NO once its done to a Nigerian then "" ohhhh, how people hate Nigerians"".

2. With all the thousands of Nigerians ( and other african countries) that were in the country for AFCON 2 get shaken( still their side of the story about being beaten) then ooh lets scream hatred of nigerians, xenophobia, hiv, illeterate president, animals blah blah blah. huh Its like you would have been dissapointed of this one sided story did not surface. By the way an SA journalist friend of mine lost an eye ( Thabo ) you can google beaten by police. He took them ti court and that was settled by the court. If your police are straightline and have no abusive behaviours bravo to you but ours do, hence theres an investigation into police treatment in SA.

3. Be careful what you wish for always crying they hate us, every where Nigerians go even in China the first thing they will say, " oooh Chinese hate us, they come ask for passport and rade our place for drugs". For goodness sake grow up and be real man, stop complaining about everyone and everything. It was Ghana, Malawi, Botswana and others trying to put their country laws into action by demanding certain things but nooooo, nigerians will cry they hate us.

4. Why not look at yourselves for a change and ask what you could be missing that you need to be loved soo much? Someone hates you who cares? Why dont just, go on with your life and do what you and forget about who loves u or hates than scream murder every corner of the world you turn into.

5. The Nigerian guy who died in custody was not the first there has been even a white man who died in custody thatis still under investigation. Why not google and see how many complaints there have been before owning a tragedy like that.

6. And by the way, again what happened in 2008 was a tragedy as well but conflict happens even niger btwn poeple of different cultures, fulanis, igbo, housas etc?

7. We do not need partners to speak on behalf, this goes to the Ghanians that are saying rubbish here becouse of what they have heared. Please find more info before allowing yourselves to be recruited to this lets hate SA rubbish. We all have awful stories to tell about one another and we also have good ones too. By the way Ghanians where in SA long before our freedom. They taught in schools, where doctors in our hospitals and all other things they did especially in the Eastern Cape, they stayed with us spoke our language and you had never heard any conflicts with them. I have a Ghanian family i have known since I was a toddler they have no issues with anyone becouse of how they are. They are warm people and are well respected becouse they were our teachers, doctors, hairstylist etc. If u choose to attack us get your
facts right.

Lastly, gosh I love my boyfriend a Nigerian I thought I was coming hear to learn more about him and his culture but I think I made a huge mistake. He did warn me that i must not couse he stopped becoz of the negetivity. Becouse right now sometimes I feel what I hear here is too much to handdle, I doubt if I will be able handle such drama. You cry hatred but I have never ever encountered people who curse like the people of this forum and you find yourself also mashed up into this madnes cursing your guts out. undecided
Stfu and go suck some good di ck
