My own experience of face me I face you was in shomolu in the early 90s when my parent weren't in good time, processing divorce I and my younger brother were sent to live with grand mum. trendystuf: A 67 year-old grandmother from Australia has been found dead in South Africa where she travelled to meet a 28 year-old Nigerian she met on an online dating site.

The woman, Jette Jacobs was found dead in a Johannesburg guest house in February, two days after she met up with a man calling himself Jesse Orowo Omokoh. According to AU News, the pair struck up an online relationship three years ago. In 2010, Jacobs travelled to South Africa to meet him before he proposed late last year. Over several years she sent over $100,000 to him.

After he proposed, she wanted to settle in Nigeria but her children had begged her to stay in Australia.Yahoo News reports that her money, credit cards, laptop computer and jewellery were missing. Omokoh was the last person to see Jacobs alive and told police he found her body but he has since disappeared.

Although an empty pill bottle was found near her body and the South African police initially thought she had committed suicide, her children believe she was murdered.

“Anybody who knew my mother would know that there is no way that she would do that,” her daughter told 6PR.

Her son, who wants to be identified only as Mr Jacobs, told Yahoo News: ”After losing dad, mum was feeling very lonely so she went online and went to one of the dating sites and this young man contacted her and started to chat to her. Mum, not realising what she was getting herself into, started talking to this guy. This was about four years ago, and in that period of time they’d been chatting quite regularly, then she decided to travel to South Africa to meet him.”

“We didn’t want her to go, we tried to stop her but she pushed us away and said we didn’t know what we were talking about. We didn’t understand he was a true friend and not one of those scams, and she really believed that she had someone that really loved her.”

A joint operation between West Australian Police and Consumer Protection tracks large amounts of money being sent from West Australia to West African countries. A letter was sent to Jacobs warning she might be a victim of fraud but it arrived shortly after she had left Australia.

Detective Senior Constable Robert Martin, from the Major Fraud Squad, says the circumstances surrounding her death are suspicious. He told Yahoo News that the rising number of tragic occurences from meeting a person online is alarmingly high. “My warning is that unless you have met the person face-to-face you do not know what you are dealing with when you are talking to somebody online. It is absolutely fraught with danger and we would say don’t sent money to anybody that you have met on the computer. We also strongly urge people not to travel overseas to meet someone they have met on the computer.”

The Police are still searching for Omokoh.

Similar case happened to me few days to my departure from Nigeria in 2010 and i suspected it has been going on for long time. I had a problem with my air France ticket and It was about 8 pm in the evening the traffic was massive and i was so stressed and pissed so i wined down the side mirror just to geta breath of fresh air while chilling and waiting in the hold up along Apapa expressway way suddenly a young man in his late 30 approached my car i thought he was one of those hawkers in the traffic until until he asked me to help him with little money to eat, i asked my fiance to give him a thousand naira from the 50,000 naira in her bag that i budget to reschedule ticket but we didn't succeeded because air France demanded more and my credit card already maxed out and was at wit end because naija don chop my money finish.

There was a similar case in Spain that happened to my Spanish female friend who got pregnant to a guinea guy under guise of immigration fraud because the guinea guy was badly in need of a document to remain in Europe after failed asylum. Well it was time to do the baby registration he came out with a guinea passport,threatening my friend to use his name for the baby but my friend turned it down because she was totally confused,worried and disturbed so she called on me to come check him out because she didn't knew what to believe anymore,the guy dealing in drug, rude and reckless his behavioral was extremely primitive and doesn't indicate anything Nigeria and his accent was nowhere near.

well i later met him and i tried to talk him out because i wanted to help clear the matter just to make my friend realize how hypocrite he was, me wey be say i dey speak Ibo, Hausa and Yoruba my mother tongue. i tried to relate with him and be a good man he was quick to ask me what part of Nigeria i am from and what tribe i belong to i told him i am an Ibo guy from Enugun he claimed Yoruba so i lied claiming i don't speak Yoruba but ive been to Lagos many time and know Lagos like the back of my hand i asked what part of lagos he hails from, he mentioned a strange name that is no where to be found in the local government of Lagos not knowing i am from lagos. he was acting reluctant so i started speaking Yoruba to him he couldn't speak nothing and all the Nigerian language he claimed he understood was a total lies,instead he was speaking a guinea language to bribe me from exposing the truth that later resulted in violence outburst between us because he knew nothing about Nigeria or had no clue but his only aim was just to tarnish Nigeria image and protect his Beloved Guinea Country,created bitterness inside my friend after using her to get a residence via fraudulent claim.
