If you are to accept the phone back, make sure it is the phone you sent to him he sent back and check carefully to know there is no default, he covers the escrow service, shipping of phone to and fro.. I blame the government for this. If they can make several alternative to theoretical education in our primary and secondary schools, our teenagers will not be killing themselves over failed jamb. I did Jamb for good seven years 2005 to 2011, my mate that we both graduate from secondary school were graduates already, some in final year, life was very difficult for me during those years. My dad died during my WAEC 2004 exam (May his soul Rest in Peace), my mum was not financially stable. Yet I keep my head up even though no better people around me to orientate me on how to go about it and when you ask those that knows about schooling/education their response will make one to commit suicide but I was determined. 2011 was my last jamb and the only jamb that I failed since 2005, scored 197 did post jamb in Funaab and I got the admission. Suicide is not the solution abeg.

One can be merciful and give more time but there are some tenants that are frustrating and are ready not to pay but want to live in a free apartment, yet they will owe nepa, water, lawma and security money join. Can I write a "Notice to Quit" and deliver it to him in person, or must I entrust a lawyer?

If I notify him about quitting the room, is he qualified for the 6 month the law prescribe...

If you can't get lawyer services. Give him Notice to quit with 3months, go to Lagos State mediation centre close to you, report his case, you will be going a note to deliver to him which deadline date is there for him to appear in person which you too will be there. after the 3 months he will be given a month to pack out, if he fails, a note will be given to you to report to the nearest police station to move his stuffs out. The issue will be addressed which will favour you but you will need the support of your brothers/sister because they will call them to confirm if they support you to quit the tenant. I have done that twice with a stubborn tenants who fails to pay. He was even told to pay all his debt; including Nepa, Water, Lawma and Security debt.

Don't deceive him he will wait atleast 3months before the change is effective, some are waiting over 3months sef. if it is gender and name correction that one is fast attended to but date of birth change, na lie and I stand to be corrected. NIMC are useless entity.
