TravelRe: 10 Most Urbanized States In Nigeria - Ovoko.com by suledes(m): 2:35pm On Nov 16, 2016
@ovoko, stop posting rubbish. You have been misleading forumites with your fallatical research post.

Why would you rate without including kano.
Kano city is the commercial hu of the North.

Nawa for you ooo.

Ovokoo:
Here is a list of states in Nigeria that are highly urbanized beyond the state capital or the largest city.

http://ovoko.com.ng/10-most-urbanized-states-in-nigeria/

10. Kaduna
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45771285/Ovoko/kaduna-state.jpg
Kaduna state is probably the most urbanized state up north. The former capital of Northern region can boast of Kaduna which is the capital as well as Zaria, Kachia and other places.

9. Oyo
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45771285/Ovoko/oyo-state.jpg
Not only is Oyo state highly urbanized but its cities are also large and highly populated. Apart from Ibadan which is reputed as the largest city in Nigeria in land mass, the state also boast of towns such as Oyo, Ogbomoso and smaller towns which includes Shaki, Iseyin and Igbo ora.

8. Akwa Ibom
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45771285/Ovoko/akwa-ibom.jpg
The oil rich state of Akwa Ibom does not play with its towns as it can boast of Uyo which is the state capital and also a contender of the most beautiful city in Nigeria. It also boast of smaller towns such as Eket, Ikot Ekpene and Oron.

7. Abia
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45771285/Ovoko/abia-state.jpg
Abia state is home to the industrial and commercial city of Aba. Apart from this famous city, Aba boast of Umuahia which is the state capital as well as other smaller towns such as Arochukwu, Ohafia and Bende.

6. Ogun
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45771285/Ovoko/ogun-state.jpg
Ogun state has been growing in leaps and bounds owing to its close proximity in Lagos. Ogun state can boast of things that other states except Lagos and Abuja cannot boast of. Apart from Abeokuta which is the state capital, other towns have held their own in different parts of the state. Some notable mentions include Ijebu Ode, Sagamu and Sango Otta which due to its close proximity to Nigeria’s economic capital, probably houses the largest industrial estate in Nigeria. The lagos/Ibadan axis of the state is also another place waiting to explode as it has seen a monumental migration of powerful religious centers and an upsurge of residential estates.

5. Rivers
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45771285/Ovoko/rivers-state.jpg
The reason is because Port-hacourt is miles ahead of other town in the state but when you look outside the state, you will come to appreciate some of the other cities that Rivers state boast of which are more urbanized and wealthy than some state capitals. The likes of Omoku, Bonny Island, opobo, Khana , Okrika, Ahoada and smaller towns like Okwuzi/Mgbede are also pulling their weight.

4. Delta
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45771285/Ovoko/delta-state.jpg
The oil state is usually referred to as a mini Nigeria owing to the conglomeration of diverse ethnic groups in the state. These groups are also proud of their respective homeland and have made it something to be proud of. There are cities and mini cities scattered all over the state. From Warri, which is the economic capital to Asaba which is the political capital. Other smaller cities such as Agbor, Ughelii, Sapele are also holding their own.

3. Anambra
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45771285/Ovoko/anambra-state.jpg
Anambra state is the third on our list because of the fact that it houses the commercial capital of the east, the automobile capital of Nigeria as well as the state capital. Beyond Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka, other smaller towns such as Ihiala, Ekwulobia, Obosi, Oba, Aguata, Nkpor etc are relatively urbanized.

2. Abuja
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45771285/Ovoko/abuja.jpg
Abuja is Nigeria’s political capital and it has come to be a competition for Lagos state. Abuja is the second most urbanized state/territory after Lagos as it boast of development and economic activity in every nook and cranny of the capital. Popular places in Abuja are Wuse, Maitama, Garki, Gudu and so many more.

1. Lagos
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45771285/Ovoko/lagos-state.jpg
Lagos is by far the most urbanized and economic capital of Nigeria. It is the only conurbation that exists in the whole of Nigeria. With every city in Lagos merging together to form a megapolis. Every part of the state/city is urbanized but popular cities in Lagos includes Ikeja, Lagos Island, Osodi, Amuwo odofin, Alimosho, Iyana Ipaja, badagry amongst others.

for ur mind u put Oba benin as 3rd ahead of ooni?...

@ovoko is rating his king ahead of others. Imagine him rating Emir of Kano and excluding Shehu of Borno.

Let me tell you (Ovoko), the two rated kings in the north are Sultan of Sokoto, and Shehu of Borno Kingdom. Have you forgotten Idris Alooma.

Also ranking Oba of Benin ahead of Ooni of Ife. He had forgotten history that Oba of Benin was a descendant of Oduduwa.
It seemed Ovoko was sleepy or drunk when he was collecting the information.

Later, I know u will rate Eze Ndi Igbo of Lagos Island ahead of Oba of Lagos, and Obi of Onitsha.

Hello nairalanders, please I want you to advice me on how to handle my excessively demanding girlfriend. She demands money excessively from me at regular intervals (everytime i go to visit her which is now discouraging me from visiting her now) without considering my pocket and its really making me to see her from another angle negatively as a gold digger and it's affecting my true feelings for her.

I don't want to be too rude to her but at the same time, I want her to get the information across to her. its not like am not financially supportive or am broke but I want to exercise some financial disciplines in her cos am thinking of seeing her as more than my girlfriend but this is not telling well about her.

Mature advice please!
Suspend giving her money for a while. Because any relationship that start by giving money to show love may not last if the money stops.

There had been many instances whereby money had been a tool to attract, and show love. But future is unpredictable, God forbid, you may have insufficient money in the future in less to what you have now. How will she cope with that?

This is a fallacy, not true. Where did u get the news from?

Abeg make una no fool us ooo. The one wey Buhari led F.G dey fool us don do oooo.

HardMirror:
Nigeria Emerging World Power. Signs $500billion Contract With Russia?

Today 27th October, 2016 is a great day in Nigeria's History. Russia is ready to pay Nigeria a whooping $500Billion to provide Russia military support no other nation can provide.

General Vladisko Mikil who represented the president of russia in this Historic day said russia has identified some key areas were Nigeria can help with their military. These areas are as follows.

1. African Bullet Proof

2. EGBE: Power to teleport (disappear and appear at another location)

3. Oruka. Magic ring. Which their spies can use to make their enemies fall and start shaking like fish out of water.

4. Ounde. Power belt that would make their soldiers invincible

5. Oyela. A tortoise shell necklace That would boost the intelligence of their troops and even make them able to hear the thoughts of their enemies.

6. Ina Aye. Mysterious spiritual fire.

7. Spiritual slaps. They see the applications of this in embarrassing other presidents in public.

8. "Enter and sweep" this works by hanging a broom at the door step, if anyone tries to steal from such a house, he wld endup sweeping the whole compound till he is released. This would be used to protect their presidential villa. No need for security alarms anymore.

9. Asasi. This would be used in making their enemies run mad. this has been tested on Donald Trump and russia are very pleased with the results

General Vladisko said paying $500 billion is a small price for them to pay to be able to have access to all this powers from Nigeria.

Nigeria's president said he is happy that our tradition is finally making the country more money than oil has made for the country in 16 years of our democracy.

Russian Researchers are presently in Ogun state and Anambra state to learn from our local priests so they can go back and boost their military.

Reacting to this development, America's Secretary General said the United States has always been scared of Nigeria because of the spiritual powers Nigeria possess. Which is more than all their technologies and military equipments.

Blah blah blah....

If all those stories you hear about African Power were true, this is the type of news that would be making our headlines

USE YOUR COMMON SENSE AFRICA.

Pls if you are so sure all those powers are real. Do yourself and your generations to come some good. Go and get those powers, they are worth a lot of money in the hands of world powers. I am sure vladmir Putin is willing to pay billions to be able to disappear and appear inside the pentagon's top secret archives. Why use these powers for disappearing from accidents only?

This is one of d people I am talking about arguing religius affair. In an Hadith, Rasulullah said, ''if you found anything disgusting, use your action to condemn it. If not, use your mouth. If not, use your mind''.

Therefore, if you have been condeming some acts as bid'ah, and those people are claiming that they are not bid'ah, but ibaadah. Leave them alone, and let their affairs to Allah.

Allah says, '' Alaisallah bi hakamil hakimeen''.

Therefore, I can't contribute to your religious arguement.

The thread is about bidah and not hizbi, if you have any reasonable contribution pls do.
Especially in this society of ours, there are various Aqeedah which if one does not use his iniative vey well (Qiyas), he will be misled.

I read a news this afternoon on Newsrescue website that the Imam of Jamatul Izala al-Bidi'a Wa Iqama Sunna castigated, and maledicted Sayidina Aliy (rta), and the shia sects.

That Imam had contradicted the admonition of Rasulullah which Umm Salamah said that noboby should insult Aliy, and anybody that did that had insulted him.

Those follower of that Imam would be misled by his aqeedah. Therefore we have to be very careful in master of Islam concerning Bidi'a.
IslamRe: Bid'ah(innovation In The Matters Of Religion) by suledes(m): 11:59am On Oct 22, 2016
All of you arguing here, and your leaders are not muslims. You are just sects using Islam by claiming ranks, and superiority to achieve worldly gains.

You defied Allah's assertion in the Holy Qur'an, ''Inaladhina faraqu dinahum wakanu shiya'an....''

Translation-Those who claim sect in their religion, they are on there own....

Even, there is a verse in the Qur'an which says. ''Inamal mumineena Ikhwatun....

Translation-Every Muslim believer are brothers....

Therefore, you people claiming Sect (Ahl Sunnah or Ahl Aqeedah, Ahl Salafis or Ahl Wahabis, Ahl Haqeeqah or Toriqa, Ahl Quraniyuun etc) under the umbrella of Islam are Ignorant, and deviating from Islamic Doctrine.

Alhamdulillah, I am a Muslim without sect.
IslamRe: Bid'ah(innovation In The Matters Of Religion) by suledes(m): 6:56pm On Oct 21, 2016
I am just having pity for those segregating from Islam. Using various sect names claiming their practises are the best. They are ignorant, and don't know they are deviating from the admonition of Allah (s.w.t). Whom says in the Holy Qur'an, ''Inaladhina faraqu dinahum wakanu shiya'an, lasta minihum fi shain, Inama amruhu ila Allah......(those who segregate their religion(forming sects) they are on their own......)

Segregation of Islam started after some scholars migrated from Madinah. Among them was Abdullah Ibn Mas'ood whom migrated to Iraq. Since then there had been various school of thought (e.g Ahl Sunnah, Ahl Ra'i etc).

I was watching jumat observed in Madinah this afternoon on T.V, after the Imam had made his khutbah. He supplicated for Muslims in Syria, Yemen, and even Iraq without segreagating any sect. And this people (Saudis) are Wahabist, and few Suffis.

When the West confronted the Afghanistan, and Iraq (which are majorly Shia), there was wide condemnation from the Muslim world against the world. There was no sectarism.

Why are we condeming our fellow muslim brothers to d extent of worship in d mosque?

What is d certainty that only Ahl Aqeedah, or Ahl Haqeeqah ibaadah will only enter Jannat without good deeds?

I know the history, you are right with some of your analysis while some of them are what I called the fulani version of events
This history i just told you was not fulani history but the fact. Even most of Sheikh from yoruba race in Ilorin testified to that. Like history of my family, we migrated from Iresa in Oyo, and settled at Adifa in Ilorin. Later on migrated to Igbomina land. Even in terms of Chieftancy time, there are 4 baloguns which are: Balogun Gambari heads hausa community; Balogun Fulani heads the fulani community; Balogun Ajikobi, and Balogun Alanamu head the yoruba community.

abdulwastecx:
It is ignorant of you to suggest that having an Oba symbolizes Idol worshipping. I don't have any problem with ilorin people if they like to have a very small minority group like fulani to control them.

The nupes, baribas, fulanis and hausas are very small minority that don't even make up 10% of the total population of ilorin. Majority of these groups are already assimilated into yorubas. These minorities are now yorubas, even the Emir is technically and culturally a yoruba man.

Islam has been used to justify control of most hausas state and northern yoruba state by fulanis but their version of Islam only come into Nigeria and South west less than 200years ago. We have Muslim in old oyo prior to usman dan Dan fodios political jihad.
@Abdulwaste. You have forgotten or don't know hisory. Most of Ilorin inhabitants where from old Oyo Empire, and neighboring towns such as Kishi, Kuo, Ibolo, etc. During the revolution in Oyo empire then which led to revolt against the muslim yorubas, fulanis, and nupe slaves migration. Afonja whom was just like Chief of Defence to the Oyo empire, was in logggerhed with Alaafin of Oyo then accomodated the migrant at Ilorin which later resulted to the collapsed of Oyo Empire. Afonja was an idolator then whom the muslim migrants (yorubas, nupe, hausas, fulanis) helped to defeat Alaafin. Thereaftter, majority of the inhabitants in Ilorin were muslims. Note: where there is muslim community, there must be leader (Amir of Emir). And he must be the most knowledgeable, and brave among all. Salih Jinta, a fulani was generally agreed upon to be their leader my the muslim community because of his qualities. Afonja was overthrown 1823, and Salih Jinta was imposed by the muslims majorly by yorubas.
CultureRe: Ooni Ogunwusi Visits Abdulfatah Ahmed by suledes(m): 8:43am On Aug 11, 2016
People don't get the fact that Oba can't be installed in Ilorin because the city consist of various tribes such as Yorubas, Nupes, Fulanis, Hausas, Baribas, Songheys, Malians, etc. Though majorly occupied by the yorubas. Even most of the yorubas are typical core muslims which they isolated from idolators. If you go back history, Ilorin is the hub of Islam in the South-west (yorubas). There are Obas in other towns in kwara state such as Olofa of Offa town, Arangun (one of Oduduwa Children) of Ila town which has supreme authority over Igbomina land. There are other Obas also such as Omu-Aran, Ajase Ipo, Onigbaja etc. Therefore, the Ilorins put religious factor first before others.
EducationRe: Most Overhyped Courses In Nigeria, the FACT!!!! by suledes(m): 4:03pm On Aug 09, 2016
Not that the courses have been over-hyped, but the jobs available can't accommodate graduates produced year in year out from tertiary institutions. Though, an Electrical engineer can set-up roadside workshop to sustain. Like the Doctors can use a room as hospital which does happen in Nigeria. Likewise, the Lawyer can rent a small shop as his office for soliciting, or charge n bail.
If the right oppoetunity has come, you can set up those hint i mentioned above for survival. Afterall, At-all At -all na him bad.

But whatabout people who studied Zoology, Psychology, Geophysics, etc where will u place them.

But all courses are relevant.
