satmaniac: U re welcome @kunle.maximising the utility of ur dish and decoder is possible and all u need to do is follow d proven step of our mentor. Have u ever heard of d term Multi LNBF combination i.e u can cobine 2 and more LNBFs depending on ur dish size, angular(elevation and azimuth) difference and ur technical expertise i.e ur skill. To do that u need to take the following steps. First step go to this thread''tips on how to track w4(36e),astra2f(28.2e) and W3c(16e)on a single 90 cm dish'' note d angular difference i.e 36,28 and 16 dat aint much. Secondly read thru d thread b4 firing any question and make sure u digest what is in there.Reading thru d thread on dis section is encourage because d priest of satellite tv have put some gud stuff in d shrines(numerous threads) of dis section.put dat in practice and u wil thank me later. Then d final and bold step put what u have learn to practice.''just do it'' U can always come back here if u encounter any difficulty. Cheers mate. https://www.nairaland.com/847865/tips-how-track-w4-36echeer. |

I once tracked this iran package(irib) and did not seem to be difficult like this. I got it with good signal. @pboy2buzy, while ur dielectric plate is inserted vertically, try twisting ur lnb to be almost facing the sky and see how it is. Those who are watching the bird, should take notice of the signal quality wether it goes off or decreases sometime as their are many complaints about the bird from our members. |

@pboy2buzy, i think u should skew ur lnb upwards to see if the signal increases a little(as from the picture you uploaded above, i can see the lnb is pointing towards 3'o clock position) most of ku band satellites are mostly receivable on bigger dish when lnb is facing upwards. @Olenyi, your adequate response to the guy request are much enough to solve the problem. you have tried much for him, I think all the problem may resolve in realigning the dish. |

andrewbeltran61: Hello House, please i have 2 dish ( 60cm and 90cm) and i have 4 lmb. I want to put 2 lnb in 60cm and 2 lnb in 90cm.
Please can someone tell me best satellite to track and TP. My decoder is mytv srt4922A and i am in Ghana. I am also interested in leagues matches. I will wait for a detailed info to track.
Thank you in advance in your 60cm, add 2 lnb for 36e and 28.2f. As for 90cm, u can track both astra4A/sirus4 and eutelsat 7e together on it but it depends on how proficient you are. It will do u good if you use that 90cm for these three satellites Dstv, Multi tv and amos5 and thereafter use 60cm for mytv or any other satellite at your will that is receivable on 60cm. HERE ARE THE TP FOR THE ABOVE MENTIONED SATELLITES. For 36e, use 12245h27500 and blindscan for the free channels to pop up. For 28.2f, use 12523v19531 no need to blindscan just press "ok" on your remote and wait a little, there are 21 channels there that will come up. For astra4A/sirus4, use 12015v29950. for eutelsat 7e, use 12728v/h 30,000 in this satellite, there is no constant polarity/lnb tweakening for it, do tweak ur lnb while tracking it. |

@oga George_D and others, i have two receivers with me. One of them(4653x) is displaying LNBF on the front pannel without connecting any cable to the Lnb input at the back. I have checked the IC i complained to you that day on the other receiver to see if it is the culprit but i found the IC being fresh without any sign of burning on it. The other one(which is 4663x) is failing to display picture despite the AV cord is connected to it. What could be the solutions to them? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by SULIEMAN3(m): 6:34pm On Aug 21, 2013 |
George_D: @Ebuka44,
I think you don't need an expert to tell you that water and electronics don't mix. The LNB is an electronic device meant to receive satellite signals. When exposed unnecessarily to water, it won't function effectively and may fail prematurely. The only weather proof part of the LNB is the outer cover which is normally exposed when installed properly. The throat is not meant to receive water but signals. If you look inside the throat, you'll see two delicately protruding tentacles. These are what enables the LNB receive both horizontal and vertical polarized signals. When covered in water they receive next to nothing. There is a reason why ALL LNBs come with a type of cover. This is to protect the delicate parts inside the throat from the elements.
Many people think they can boost signal reception by doing away with the throat cover but experience has proven this myth to be false. If you check my 2.5m comstar motorised 3-in-1 set up, all the lnb covers are in place and this has not affected the signal quality one bit. Same goes for my 4m motorised nilesat dish. On the contrary, when you install your LNBs with the throat cover removed, all may seem to be well for a short while, but eventually, spiders and all sort of creeping things will find a home inside those LNBs thereby leading to signal loss. If you're not the investigative type, all you'll notice is that your signal quality gradually begins to depreciate. You may even go as far as tampering with your dish alignment only to find out at the tail end that a nasty spider inside your LNB throat was responsible for all your stress! hmmm... THE ACTUAL FACT. |

pofolo: I watch as the season draw near and my greatest fear are the repeated retorical questions that will befall this thread. This thread is strictly fta live football. So if anyone post an update and you are not clear, PLEASE make use of the search engine on the top corner. If you can't, just KINDLY read 2 or 3 pages backwards,I bet you'll find an answer as you seek. That you ask question and peeps don't answer you doesn't mean you are ignored,WE ALL HAVE OUR DIFFERENT LIFES outside this forum and might just be busy, hence a little patient required. Please, before we all derail the thread and drive away peeps, let's adhere strictly to rules. Let the football season begins... Viva FTA UNITED !!! good one bros... Hope everyone of us will now take a correction. |
