Some Nigerians hate the country for no reason. They believed everything bad reported about the country and don't believe anything good about the country.

The funny thing is she is a talking about buying half bag of pure 3 cedis (which is N210 when in Nigeria full bag of pure Water is between N150 to N300.

Few weeks ago you need to see how Ivorians are making comparisons about how real housing estate is more affordable in Nigeria than Ivory Coast they even said Nigeria houses are even more beautiful than the ones they are giving to them at a high price there. When I saw the amount they are paying for land in Rural areas not even Abidjan, Bouake or Yammousoukro is then I knew Nigeria is not as bad as we think.
Yet, these other African countries don't bring their country down like we Nigerians do. It is just so annoying.

But the power used to drive the book factory is likely internationally sourced and distributorship and the likes have influence. Moreover, they manufacturers may lead a life they need to be able to afford with their services and all of this is cascading into a domino effect.

My point is, the foundation is faulty. The basics are not in here but sourced from out there. Whether we like it or not, the problem will linger and multiply until we correct the foundation. Which is why I was seriously advocating for Peter Obi to be President. It takes one with track record and resolve to actually take on the establishment head-on.
The moment you mentioned Peter Obi I gave up. Eelction is over for now, let's forge to support and constructively criticize the current government then prepare Peter or whoever you choose to win next election.

Ghana, Zimbabwe and Rwanda have some of the highest inflation in the world and she is here arguing blindly.
He/She claimed they have traveled to 16 African countries lol 😂 yet, other economies are still well managed. I’m tired of these people on Nairaland doing everything to bring down their country lol

on your second paragraph, would you have said that 10 years ago when 100 naira was equivalent to almost 500 cfa?

What is there to compare in Nigerian economy that borrows money to pay workers salaries?
An economy that runs on generator?
Togo and ghana are light years ahead of nigeria in terms of economic management and transparency.

NIGERIA IS NOT ONE OF THE WORSE MANAGED ECONOMY IN AFRICA BUT BY FARRRRR THE WORSE MANAGED ECONOMY in the whole of Africa and beyond.

I don't know how well traveled you are but I have been in over 13 African countries alone.
Lol People in their Cfa countries have no business chasing dollar and euro up and down like we do as if our lives depended on it. The earlier we start focusing on our currency the better for us.

I’ve been to more than 20 African countries, and I firmly said … Economically, Nigeria is one of the well managed in Africa. Compare out inflation to others and let me hear it again.

Nigeria hasn’t gotten so bad that we are borrowing to pay like other African countries are currently doing NO. Another reason that subsidies must go for good. We will deal with the harsh situation and things will balance for good in the long run “IF GOVT REMAIN SINCERE WITH THE EXTRA DISPOSABLE INCOMES” the govt sincerity is another topic entirely (I don’t mean to derail)

What is true is that, 90% of our revenue goes to paying salaries, subsidizing and servicing debt, leaving us to only about 10% for capital expenditures, and Nigeria has never faulted on any of its loans. Where’s that man comparing to Ghana? Ghana was literally begging IMF and China to borrow them money to pay debts smh
TravelRe: Airport Expansion: FG To Demolish Lagos Private Jet Terminals by sunboy(m): 10:20am On Sep 01, 2023
onuman:
1) states in Nigeria built international airports in name but federal government is not interested in having those airports become international airports in practice. It's not the duty of the state governments to negotiate with foreign airlines to start to operate in the international airports built by the state governments. It's federal government's duty.

2) if you continue to expand Lagos airport but do not insist that foreign airlines use the international airports in the NC, SE and SS where most of the Lagos airport passengers come from, how can the airports in the NC, SE and SS attract passengers in larger numbers?
3) airlines like to fly to where passengers are in profitable numbers; not true that airlines like to fly into large cities alone.
4) Nigeria's federal government is notorious for hindering modernity in many parts of Nigeria. Therefore, Nigeria's government will not side by some state governments negotiating with foreign airlines to use the airports in some states of Nigeria. We have a country at war with itself. You know it.
6) it's not every family resident abroad that has the money to finance a journey for many members of the family into Lagos from abroad, thereafter, goes into financing translocation from Lagos to another airport in the NC, SE or SS. It's psychologically torturous and financially excruciating.

It's a most economically stupid decision to continue to expand seaports and airports in Lagos while the major users of the airport and seaports live very far away from the ports; while there are possibilities to develop modern seaports and airports in the SE, SS and NC zones.
1. The states with international status how many foreign airlines have flown to themhuh What is the percentage of traffic compared to Lagos and maybe Abuja ??
Again, I didn’t ask the state govt to make it an international status, i said to woo foreign airlines to make their state their hub, they don’t need to fly internationally to make your airport their hub and since they already have international status.. why not make it juicy for them to come build their infrastructure in the airport. This is how many small airlines around the world attract airlines to have their regional or local hub in their states, federal government won’t force airlines to fly into Ph airport or fly into Abuja airport. They will ultimately decide what pays them business wise.

2. If you follow the aviation sector well enough you would know that the government have been focusing Lagos, Abuja, Kano and PH international airports because they spread across all regions and they are the busiest airports. Again, will they force airlines to only fly to Abuja or Kano just to decongest Lagoshuh What if Lagos makes economic sense to them than flying to Kano. Stop making it seem like Lagos or even the other 3 are the only international airports in Nigeria, they are just the busiest and have FG’s attention accordingly above others.

3. Large cities are where the number of passengers are, and it’s where majority of passengers want to fly to. That is why Lagos being the economic hub have the busiest traffic. You’re here correcting yourself sir.

4. Yet Lagos state govt is planning its own airport in Lekki. Lol hold your state governors accountable. FG must not do everything you want. States can help too to attract investment to their states, Lagos created free trade zones and offered tax incentives to attract investors, also attracted Dangote with tax incentives too. That’s not the FG doing.

5/6. Again, nobody is holding your development back. All busy airports across the country is getting their attentions accordingly. Don’t expect FG to start investing money on expanding Delta or Ibadan airport when Lagos, Abuja, PH and Kano need same money.

Nigerians naturally don’t appreciate what we have until we step out of the country. Not saying all is perfect with Nigeria as it is today, but it is insulting to compare to countries like Ghana that’s barely surviving and begging to pay its debts.

Hmmm..

Inside Life.

Check the cost of Higher Education notebook currently, then come and give your testimony.
Like I have said before, we Nigerians are artificially killing ourselves and this is why theoretical solutions don’t work in Nigeria. A notebook is primarily made in Nigeria with all Nigerian inputs and employees, but we foolishly jack the price up alongside dollar to gain more profit when in reality the product has got nothing to do with dollars. In the case of gas price, the percentage of rise in gas does not necessitate the tripling in price of a text book again. See why I said the problem is actually not naira, but our greedhuh

If dollar falls to 200/$ or gas price crashes to 5/liter tomorrow, that price will still not come down somebody somewhere still want to keep making that stupendous profit.

Who dey deceive this one.
I have a house I pay rent for in Ghana, Ghana is were I started my hustle and it has remained a home to me.
In two weeks time I will be in Ghana for few days again.

This same Togo is better than Nigeria in all ramifications including their currency the cfa.

No worry, travel and see how far our peers has long left us behind.
The funniest thing is "naira is still holding its purchasing power" grin grin grin
“Travel and see? “ I don’t know you but I ’ve probably seen the world more than you possibly can.

There’s no basis of comparison between Naira and the CFA cos that is used by union of over 10 countries and it is managed and based by Euro.

But, It’s a big shame to compare Ghanaian, Togo’s economy or inflationary management to Nigeria. A big shame to compare. If you’ve traveled well like your portrayed, you’d agree that Nigeria remains one of the best managed economies in AFRICA.

Oh Togo.
Why didn't they go to Ghana that has better economy and currency than Nigeria?

The only people that spend big on women in Togo are the igbo guys, an average togolese girl that a Togo man would knack to pieces for free, an igbo man would give the same girl 50k, Samsung phone and other niceties before he will have the mind to request for knacking.

The short time I stayed at asiyeye, the biggest second hand cloth market in Togo and West Africa, I made sure I emptied up to 5 igbo guys account, three of them had to close their shops and relocate back to nigeria, two of them were saved by their relatives, they had to start from scratch again.
Who’s deceiving you that Ghana has better currency and economy than Nigeria ?

Have you been to Ghana in the past 2 years?

Same Ghana that’s begging money to survive and pay its debt and nobody would borrow it ?

Nigerians no Dey rate their country at all sha.

Nigeria's economy remains one of the best managed in Africa right now, with some of the lowest inflation rate. Ghanaian currency lost its purchasing power badly, it is not the same for Naira… it is the actual pursuit of Dollar that is driving the artificial cash against dollar. Naira is still holding its purchasing power locally.

Actually this is not true. I have been to Delta airport and it can do with some expansion the runway is very small. When i took a flight from Asaba the pilot had to reverse the plane all the way to the end of the runway almost on the grass area and had to speed up very rapidly and mistake a sharp takeoff (rip) because the runway is very short. Im sure the money the airport makes can offset these expansions.
Okay, let’s agree that there’s need to expand that airport. Now the ministry has priority list and limited funds, where would you have them do first? Lagos with the busiest airport? Or Delta airport that has less than 2% of Lagos traffic ?

Lagos is Lagos, Delta is Delta! Lagos is the economic hub of Nigeria, not Delta! Why exactly must everything in Nigeria be misconstrued and turned to politics and pointless sentimental arguments?

Clearly the positioning of the Dominion and Evergreen hangers block the taxi path for big airplanes to the new MMIA terminal. Since the brand new MMIA terminal was completed and commissioned, numerous international airlines have refused to use the new terminal for the same excuse... "we cant maneuver our big planes to the apron of the new terminal."

Smash the damn hangers, expand the way and compensate the owners of the hangers appropriately. Why does this have to be repeated or dragged endlessly?
Exactly! These days we have clearly lost common sense and subscribe to political sentiments every single time.

How did a private jet hanger even managed to get built right beside the public use terminal? Who even approved that in the first place. They should be moved away completely, maybe close to the local airport or wherever. If it’s blocking a much needed expansion then smach it down ofcourse.

Why not expand the airports in the NC, SS or SE where most of the users of Lagos airport come from?

It's only in a Zoo Republic that federal government funds expansion of sea and airports every new administration in only one city already jam-packed from population and traffic bust.
This una greed in the SW is most primitive in nature.
Una never chop bellefull from oil proceeds from the Niger Delta as booty?

My friend brought his kids from America to Nigeria, the kids travelled 10 hours by road from Lagos to their home state and swore they will never return to Nigeria again because of the hassle of road travel.
There’s a functional international airport in almost every state in Nigeria.

Why need to expand an airport that not being used to capacity?

Wherever your American friend state was, I’m sure there’s an airport in that state that they could fly into from Lagos but instead they choose to drive, that’s not the govt fault.

It’s a public knowledge that airlines like to fly into the big cities or big hubs only, that’s not also the FG fault. Reason for Lagos expansion = it is being used over its capacity so they built new terminals and now they are making ways for the new terminal to be useful while they renovate the old building.

Bonus; your state government could approach an international airline woo them with incentives to make the state their hub. This is done in many part of the world, state governments woo airlines and make them use their smaller airports as a hub to drive traffic to the airport. I’m sure FG will have no problem expanding it when necessary.

A full blown out war, will result if Putin is mad enough to strike a European Union member who is also a NATO.
Trust me Putin ain't that mad to do that.
No scenario will make Putin try that, except he wants a full blown out war, which am sure he doesn't

Also there is nothing like private military pilots 😂, no NATO member will allow military jets flown from its territory to strike Russia
What will be an act of aggression, Romanian won't even be that mad to do that.

I don't like all this conspiracy theories, pmc flying jets from NATO member states to strike Russian targets, his simply not possible
If a jet is flying out of a nato soil to attack Russian soil and back, it makes that aircraft and its landing base a legitimate target irrespective of who owns it, NATO know this well.

About 4,000 per tree, that is very unrealistic figure.

Tree planters in US and Canada usually make between 0.10-0.30 per tree. 0.30 x 900 = 270.

This is my beloved country where we are known to have cheap labor so there’s not way they’d pay upto 270 per planing.

The seeds are bought in bulk and will definitely not cost 3k naira each.

Plenty mumu comments here, they are quick to curse Tinubu for their personal problems but not knowing that Gabon is central Africa and got nothing to do with Ecowas.

Revolution in French speaking countries was looooong overdue, this is no mistake, it is those countries saying enough. The French keep taking, openly and being the doors, they keep installing their puppet and make them stay in power forever while keeping poverty in their country. Togo and many other countries will join soon.

Only Ivory Coast and Benin seem to have a relatively stable democracy that might not go these route.
