Actress Shan George has warned her colleagues in the movie industry to desist from adding her to only groups where she contributes to the welfare of others. Venting her emotions in a clip on her Instagram page, Shan George alleged that her colleagues never call her for opportunities to earn a living but find ways to make her lose funds in the name of welfare. The Actress claimed she woke up Thursday morning to find herself in 15 WhatsApp groups where funds are being solicited for other colleagues. Yeah people need to know |
Presidential flag-bearer of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has taken the President Bola Tinubu-led administration to task over a recent claim that the country was bankrupt. The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, had on Monday, November 13, 2023, lamented that the Tinubu government inherited a bankrupt country from the immediate past administration of Muhammadu Buhari. Ribadu added that the revenue generated by the current government is being used to offset the debt incurred by the Buhari-led government. Tinubu also expressed a similar view while speaking in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on Monday, saying his administration inherited serious liabilities and assets from his predecessors. But Obi, a former Anambra State Governor, said Nigerians deserve to know what the current government inherited from its predecessor in terms of assets and liability in the spirit of transparency and strict accountability. He made this known in a reaction he shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, November 16, 2023, where he also faulted the Buhari government’s failure to disclose the deficit inherited from the administration that preceded it. Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has mocked Senator Dino Melaye, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), over his performance in the just concluded Kogi governorship election. In a post on his social media platform X, the former Aviation Minister claimed it’s politically over for Melaye. He wrote: “Poor Dino. “Despite all his loud and boastful rantings, puerile noise-making, clownish behaviour, crude bum-fuckery, infantile court-jesting, nauseating gorilla-dancing, gratutious insults, foul-mouthed bluster, tough guy “gra gra” and area boy antics and in spite of his membership of the ‘Bugger Me Stiff United Football Club’, he received the flogging and trouncing of his pitiful life in the Kogi state governorship election. “Out of the 751,000 votes that were cast, he could not even muster up to 47,000. That is approximately 5%. “Worst still, he came in a very distant third in the race and some have even said fourth! How sad! A lesson to beware of crypto…. |
This is serious |
Beleaguered cryptocurrency king and FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried was convicted on seven counts in his fraud trial in New York Thursday, ending a storied ascent that brought in millions in political donations and sparked criminal probes across agencies when FTX collapsed. Bankman-Fried was convicted of charges including wire fraud and conspiracy to commit securities fraud in his case tried in the Southern District of New York. “Sam Bankman-Fried perpetrated one of the biggest financial frauds in American history – a multibillion-dollar scheme designed to make him the King of Crypto – but while the cryptocurrency industry might be new and the players like Sam Bankman-Fried might be new, this kind of corruption is as old as time,” Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York said in a statement. “This case has always been about lying, cheating, and stealing, and we have no patience for it,” Williams continued. Bankman-Fried, 31, faced several charges over allegations that he defrauded his customers and investors of billions of dollars in a scheme that prosecutors have called “one of the biggest financial frauds in American history.” Read on.. https://newsbreakforum.com/sam-bankman-fried-found-guilty-on-all-counts-as-jury-returns-swift-verdict/

President Tinubu’s plan to spend a whopping N5.09 billion from public fund to buy presidential yacht for himself has sparked controversy The fund is listed under the Nigerian Navy’s proposed capital expenditure of N42.3 billion. In addition, the government plans to spend N12.5 billion on the Presidential Air Fleet. The presidential fleet includes a Boeing Business Jet (Boeing 737-800 or NAF 001), one Gulfstream 550, one Gulfstream V (Gulfstream 500), two Falcons 7X, one Hawker Sidley 4000, two AgustaWestland AW 139 helicopters and two AgustaWestland AW 101 helicopters. Auwal Musa Rafsanjani, Executive Director of the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre, said some items of the budget defy logical thinking and are best described as insensitive. “This is financial recklessness. Nigerians are suffering, and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration seems not concerned about it,” he said. Kabir Isah, an Abuja-based public affairs analyst, said the government may have to look at more borrowing to fund the budget. He said: “The government should be looking for ways to boost revenue and not planning to spend the lean revenues on irrelevant items. It is even worse to know there are no plans to patronise our local vehicle manufacturers.” Read more https://newsbreakforum.com/n5-09bn-budget-allocation-for-presidential-yacht-stirs-controversy/?doing_wp_cron=1698924060.0752749443054199218750
