dridowu: A Yoruba adage says "ti eshinshin ba je elegbo , omo araye o ni ri sugbon ti omo araye ba je eshinshin igba yen omo araye ma ri" meaning "when the housefly started harming the injurious person, people will keep quiet but if the injurious person decide to harm the housefly, that is when people will be advicing the injurious not to harm the housefly" Niger Delta Avengers are doing theirs now, PDP AND CO are keeping quiet but by the time Nigeria Security (Navy, Army, NSCDC e.t.c) start theirs now that is when they will remember violation of human right.
A new armed militant group in Nigeria's Niger Delta, "The Niger Delta Avengers" today destroyed the main pipeline supplying gas that provides electricity to the Escravos tank farm in Delta state owned by Chevron. In a tweet sent from its account on Twitter, the group said the latest action was carried out after Chevron ignored its May 12 warning not to fix a major crude pipeline blown up by the group early in the month.
The group did not disclose if the latest attack led to human casualties.
Ibe Kachikwu, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum has said that President Buhari’s ministers have no accommodation, confirming an exclusive report by SIGNAL, which detailed how President Buhari walked out on a meeting where Ministers had demanded for decent accommodation.
According to the minister in a video footage, President Buhari has been unable to solve the problem of accommodation bedeviling his ministers. “One issue that we have been unable to solve is finding accommodation for Ministers. We have not been able to find money to do that. I live in my home, I’m sure he lives in his home”, Kachikwu said referring to another colleague who in turn immediately responded that he is squatting in Abuja.
Recall that SIGNAL had exclusively reported that President Buhari walked out on a meeting with a team of ministers who scheduled a meeting with him on behalf of their colleagues to make a case for decent accommodation. The ministers, led by Youth and Sports Minister Solomon Dalung had sought the audience of President Buhari to acquaint him with what ministers in his cabinet were suffering when all of a sudden the President stood up and ‘excused himself’ leaving the ministers dejected and hopeless.
“The ministers have been facing serious challenges with accommodation and they put their heads together to go and see the President hoping that they could persuade him to do something. Dalung was the spokesperson of the ministers, Communication Minister Adebayo Shittu was also at the meeting. Where the problem started was when Dalung started making reference to how ministers got a nice accommodation package under previous governments. He actually said that under Jonathan, ministers were given N20 million each for accommodation. When he said that, Buhari asked if he meant N20 million for all the ministers and Dalung replied that it was N20 million per person. It was at this point that Buhari stood up and said he was taking his leave and leaving Osinbajo to “sort it out” with them”, an informed source told SIGNAL.
The Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu was only recently able to get an accommodation in Abuja after his state governor, Abiola Ajimobi graciously helped him with an extra N2 million, a source who did not want to be named also told this newspaper.
On his part, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung recently secured a low-key accommodation at Gwarinpa district of Abuja where he now resides.
Although, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung denied the report, Kachikwu’s revelation on video tape puts paid to any speculations about the veracity of the initial reports on how President Buhari’s ministers had become homeless and stranded in Abuja.
However, not all ministers are groaning under the accommodation challenge, as a few of them are believed to be wealthy enough to afford any type of accommodation anywhere in the world. Conspicuously absent at the meeting with Buhari were the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola and Minister of Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi. The ministers are ex-governors and super ministers in Buhari’s cabinet.
olatunjithomas: justice or no justice, why in the first place would some bloody civilians under the cover of a shiites or whatever block a major general of the Nigerian army from entering his own state. there was even a news making around that these ones are non nigerians,if so,what do they want? I'm not in any way supporting his lengthy detention. let him be tried and jailed if found guilty . lobatan....
Adminisher: Your guys will eventually push your luck with this attitude and this language. I believe Shell is the company that has pressured the FG to sheath swords. Most ND people have this kind of dumb attitude you just showed here. I have seen it in Nembe, Okrika, Southern Ijaw and even Abonema. A kind of anarchist kill me I want die attitude. When the bullets start cracking they all disappear.
Buhari should not have dialogued with any body. I am disappointed that the politicians and business men have taken over. Hopefully the millitants will reject terms so that FINAL SOLUTION can be delivered to this problem

hungryboy: The Government is setting a very wrong precedent here. So any group of touts with a gun and dynamites looking for a big payday, Can just go ahead, And blow up pipelines, And the will be invited to Aso Rock to dialogue with the Government, with an amnesty and big payday following afterwards?.
Giving in to them now,
Will only embolden others to take that route in future.
Fill the form and join the army to go crush them. The army is currently recruiting.
ANONYDOTT: All this military equipment cannot be used in the creeks. These are essentially for land warfare. The niger delta creeks is a mix of water and land mass with mangrove swamps, suitable for guerrilla warfare and costly for military infantry. If you want to use air raids na that one worse pass... ICC would just come in and the little problem we are experiencing would escalate into unimaginable proportion.
The REGION that gave him 5% are the ones giving the REGION that gave him 97% problem and not the people. The people that voted are 5% and 97%, hence, not that ones creating the problem. The ones creating the problems are the other 95% fmthat didn't vote and the other 3% that didn't vote.
If u no understand the difference between region and people, go and die.
The 5% are the ones who voted, hence, not the trouble maker...
freeborn76: This fat pig still dey alive? When will the Niger Delta Avengers go and blow up his university in Benin Republic? Is this not the same dumbo that threatened that Nigeria will disintegrate if Jonathan failed to win a second term? Why couldn't Jonathan commission a single airport of international standard in the region? Why did they allow the clueless drunkard to politicise the construction of the Niger Bridge? These people are unbelievable! I have never seen a people so confused, disunited and mentally bankrupt like the people of the Niger Delta...true. The people from the Red Dust Republic come a very close second in stupidity...
