Films projecting igbo culture still dominates in that list. Why not lets get practical. This is the most popular male yoruba actor who carved a niche playing igbo roles because the industry is igbo dominated.
Get down to the list and start highlighting them.

You are even making me laugh. Do you even have any culture to project? grin grin grin grin grin

Yes Nollywood is an English/Igbo industry. Also, Nollywood is based in Lagos, Asaba and Enugu, and it is being controlled by ndị Igbo in these cities.
Controlled by Ndi-gini?

the list of top 20 grossilng films shows the director making the industry thick https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_films_in_Nigeria

If you are referring to those low budget 10-10 kobo films, good luck to you. Shows your quality or no quality.

I hate "Yoriwood" it doesn't sound right. Just call it the Yoruba Movie Industry.

As for the Igbo speaking films.. they are very much like the Igbo language itself. Non existent and largely ignored.
there is nothing like yoriwood. i was only following his/her line of argument.

If Nollywood is 98% igbo dominated could it still be said to belong to the whole country? When you watch nollywood film, what culture is being projected?
Y1bos and the way they band percentage around.

These are top 20 grossing Nigerian films, highlight the ones that are projecting igbo culture in comaprison with yoruba culture

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_films_in_Nigeria

Most of your fims o not promote any igbo culture. they only show a westernised culture. You do not even have any culture to promote anyway. lol.

It's good that you are proud of that, so stop rejecting the name of your movie industry which is Yoriwood.
As for Nollywood, take your eyes off it. It was created by Ndị Igbo and has remained an Igbo dominated industry. Y'all can't do nothing to change that.
Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, It was not created by Igbos. If you want to create a movie industry that is exclusive for igbos, you will either create it Enugu or Aba.

Nollywood is for Nigerians.

Yoriwood is for yorubas.

kannywood is for northerners.

Ibibio and efik films are for ibibios and efiks.

Where are the Igbo films?

But even northerners that see non Muslims as infidels want to marry Igbo babes. Ntor!
Better put, your babes are dying for the big, strong and reliable ruddy piper of an aboki because the igbos guys are not talented enough.

But even your Yoriwood actors recognize that your industry is different from Nollywood now. You don't seem to be proud of your Yoriwood, why?
By the way, I don't appreciate the way you bastardize the name of my tribe, calling us 'yiibo.' That's not nice.
I apologise for that because you are not like those stup1d e-warriors.

You are very funny. I am sure one thing Yorubas are well known for is their pride in their language, culture and heritage, no matter how westernised we grow.

We are proud of our film industry and that was while we could pioneer a local language film station on DSTV, because the audience was there. But, we will not allow some people to lay claim to an industry that belong to the whole country.

Therefore, Nollywood comprises of all the films produced in Nigeria. If igbos want an exclusive igbo dominated industry, they need to create Igboplank of Biafraudwood.

Majority of their ladies are not proud of their igbos names -- igbochume, shidinma. shindodo, shinyere etc

Most of them are always changing their names once they enter Ekenedilichukwu bus that is SW bound -- Cassandra, Maureen, Isabella, Benita etc.

Bunch of clowns.

Those films aren't typical Nollywood films. Obviously. The Nollywood of legend are the ones that churn out films in a week.
Aye omo y1bo ti baje, wallahi.

So, all those producers of 10 films in 5 minutes are the ones y1bos are calling legends.

Well we are used to it, you always have an opposing meaning for words in alaigbo --- the coward ojukwu was described as brave, the stupidity of fighting fighter jets and T72 tanks with cassava sticks was termed as bravery, treasonable felony is being seen as freedom of speech.

So, if you call those categories of producers legends, i will definitely not be surprised, you are simply keeping up with your genetic traits.

Hehe. Evil laugh.

Just kidding.
At best you will talk of Chinua Achebe and Chimamanda. The combo can still not lace the shoes of the Nobel laureate himself --- Wole Soyinka.

Produce one of that and we shall reckon with you in the literary world.

But your brother already made it clear that y'all have your own movie industry now. I only helped him out with the names i.e Yoriwood(for Yoruba) and Kannywood(for Hausa). Be proud of your industries biko, stop attaching by force to our Nollywood, just because we've made it popular.
You made nadal popular. The only thing you made popular in Nigeria is drug trafficking and every form of other crimes.

I repeat, Nollywood comprises all the films being produced in Nigeria whether Yoriwood or Kannywood or Biafraudwood. If you want an exclusive film industry, chill till your fraud of a nation becomes a reality.

How can youw own Nollywood, when the majority of the top 20 grossing movies are from SW

I noticed that most Yorubas and Hausas on Nairaland antagonize the Igbos here, this has led to the frequent exchange of words between the 3 tribes. The most prominent group of Igbos here are the Pro-Biafrans, they are always at loggerhead with the Yorubas who detest the name "Biafra" same way Man u fans hate Chelsea fans.
Most Yorubas here hate Igbos with passion, they say that Igbos are the problem with this country yet they are against the Biafran agitation.
Dear yorubas, why do you always blame the Igbo man for all the wahala you are passing through? They call us parasites yet they don't want us to form our own country. They say that we tarnish the image of Nigeria in tge international community yet they don't want to go our way so we can tarnish the image of Biafra anyhow we want. If you know that you can't keep up with the hardworking nature of we Igbos then allow us to go our own way. Don't shout one Nigeria and criticize the Igbos at the same time.
Who is holding you back from gathering under a mango tree in Aba to declare your country?

Why are you begging us to let you go, like the conquered slaves that you are?

Only slaves, war booties, conquered war loots and osu caste beg for them to go to wherever they want to go to or whatever they want to do.
